I made the wrong video 🤣 now that I'm on this one I look to the end 😁 It is a very good buy, the reputation of the traxxas slash is well established and it is a reference in the world of rc, I thought it was smaller but in the end this traxxas has a large size, in any case it is splendid, the bodywork is very beautiful and I really like the glitter paint. Very good unboxing 👍
😁👍 lol I was surprised at how big the Slash was too,😕 I was expecting it to be bigger than the average Tamiya 1/10 RC, But I didn't think that it would be as big, as it is,😕 not that it's Bad,😁 lol I'm just happy that it's of Equal size with the Losi 10, I would like that future battle to be a fair fight, At least to some degree,😂 And yes sir, it's a Great looking truck all around, I was on the fence about the color, but it looks Pretty Darn Sweet close up,😊👍 And the crazy orange/blue Combo is starting to really grow on me,😁 I like it! 😊 Although it's going to be a tuff act to follow when it comes time to paint the Losi,😭 I can't compete with the Traxxas Slash factory paint scheme,😞 my truck is gonna look like a Junkyard Dog compared to this Slash,😂 lol And the Slash has Stability management,😧 That's Huge! Is going to be it's name, 😁👍👍 lol Although it's going to be challenging to come up with a paint scheme for it,🤔 I'm gonna have to think about that one for a few, I've got some ideas right off the top of my head, but it's still going to require some extra creative thinking to accomplish.🤔 ? 😁👍 The Traxxas's body has "factory" written all over it, I'm not exactly sure how they do it, but I'm assuming that it must be like a super thin, & perfectly placed sheet, that gets heat pressed into the body when they are stamping out the body's,🤔 At least that's what makes sense in my mind,😕 but I could be wrong of course,😂👍 lol
@@R.C.A.D. I think like you, a very thin sheet that they apply with a machine and which this sticks with heat, a bit like a sticker. It makes me think that there are this kind of stickers for real cars, and that we place with a heat gun, it might be good for a rc, after I do not know the prices 🤔

Right on 😊👍 But I feel somewhat confused with the "for what it's worth" portion of your comment.😕 I know that you mentioned in your last comment about just getting into the hobby, But is this, or rather, "will this be" your First RC ? 😕 If so, then you might want to check out some of my Crawling video's,😁 High speed bashers like the "Slash" are definitely fun, But ultimately speaking, The "RC Crawler scene" is where it's at,😁👍 Probably the absolute most fun that you can have with an RC vehicle. RC Crawlers put you behind the driver seat, And really get your imagination going at the same time, It's just like driving a Real Full Size 4×4 truck, Except that it's a fraction of the size, and hardly ever breaks down.😁😂👍 lol The Crawler side of RC's, is where the real fun is at. 😁👍💯% As for credit on the sale; That's Awesome... 😁🤘 And probably the First time that anyone has done something like that for my channel.😊 Very much appreciated for that my friend, That actually means a lot to me. 😁🤜🤛💯% Back to your New Slash; Make sure to take a quick look at the manual before you turn on the truck, There's a spot in the manual that talks about putting the ESC "electronic speed control" into the correct setting for your driving skills, And if you want to get Full Pull out of that baby, Then there's a quick ESC adjustment that will need to be made,🤔😕 It's relativity simple to do, and only takes a few seconds to accomplish, Which involves Holding down the ESC's power button for a few seconds until it starts blinking, and then watching the blinking light until it gets to the setting you want, and then releasing the button to set it in that position.😊 It's a piece of cake really, But I recommend that you find that area in the manual and run through it by yourself one time "before" you drive the vehicle for the first time.😁👍 As for the manual; The thing that I'm talking about should be towards the front of the manual, and will be labeled under "Electronics" or possibly "quick start guide"🤔😕 It's a real simple thing to do, So there's no reason to feel anxious about doing it, It's a piece of cake adjustment to do.😊👍 That ESC has a couple of different modes; Sport, Training, and Race. Race mode gives you full throttle forward with a brake in the reverse position, and no actual reverse. Training mode drops the vehicle down to half power, and gives you Forward, Reverse, and a Braking action when you first put it into Reverse. Sport mode gives you Full throttle forward and reverse, with a brake mode when you first put it into Reverse.😁 And "Sport mode" is the one that you want.😊👍 And if you have any questions about it on the day of delivery, Let me know, And I'll dig into a manual & walk you through the process if needed.😊👍 Edited to add a few more bits of information.

It isn’t my first RC, I’ve done a couple planes, a couple drones and quite a few helicopters. I’ve seen a few crawler videos, but I spent a lot of years building rock crawlers, I’m pretty familiar with just about all the ways to build a Jeep TJ lol, I’ll admit that I like the idea of building an RC crawler, but watching the videos, I’m missing the point of it maybe, I’ve spent a lot of years in Jeeps in Moab, I lived in Wyoming for over 20 years and crawlers are just a way of life in the high desert. This is the first RC truck I’ve had since around 1980, I like the versatility and all the upgrades you can do, I ordered the truck today from Traxxas, and about $450 worth of other stuff from Amazon, so it’ll be fun learning something new.

Running the 19 tooth pinion with the center differential, the Slash Ultimate is a epic!!! We love chasing each other around in big open parking lots, in the middle of the night!!! 😎
😆🤜🤛 yes sir, We have a ton of slash extras sitting here currently, 19t Pinion, complete spare center diff with three different spur gears, a couple of different sets of tires, some other odds and ends items, and I literally just installed the Electric fan on the ESC about twenty minutes ago, along with swapping out the Traxxas battery connector for a XT90, 😁🤜🤛 That way we're not stuck with Traxxas's "25c" 2s, or 3s Lipos, "25c" psh! 🙄 50c is more like it,😁👍 lol Thanks for your Awesome Reply, and Suggestions my Brother.😁👍👍 💯%

@@R.C.A.D. You bet! I was born in ‘62 and still chase old toys, I either wish I had as a kid or had, but no longer own. An example would be my Evel Knievel Stunt Cycle; which a company in California recently started making again. When I was younger, I also had several cheap RC cars from Radio Shack, but the two I wish I still had are the 1984 Jeep Renegade and the 1990ish Black Phantom 4WD buggy. Still, as you mentioned, those toys were nothing like the hobby grade RCs available today. And there are so many to choose from, it’s both amazing and overwhelming. Great stuff.

Thank you Brent 😁🙏👍 And yes sir it's definitely a lot of bang for your buck,😊 Is my Brother still satisfied with the purchase, And that is a definite,😁 although he hasn't actually driven it yet,😂 it's been sitting in the garage all summer, just poised and ready to Rock, But once again we haven't had it out yet,🤔 Couple of reasons for that, One is that he works nights throughout the week, and generally has the weekends off, and mother nature has been giving us rain on just about every weekend,☹️ And the second reason, is that he's been waiting for me to finish my Losi 10 scte 3.0 4×4 SC truck build,😕 I've had my Losi built for several months now, but I haven't gotten around to painting it yet, until now, I just ordered paint, and a set of tires for it two days ago, and that 💩 should be here by Wednesday,😁👍 so hopefully by next weekend it will be finished, and we can bust them both out at the same time for there First Run,😊👍 my Losi 10 calls for a 4600kv brushless motor, But for the sake of argument, and "friendly competition" I'm going to start out with the same motor that's in the slash, which is the Traxxas VXL 3s 3500kv Valeneon Brushless system,😁👍 Trying to keep the first run as even as possible, but after that I'll be switching it up to a 4600kv Tekin with a Tekin RX8 ESC,😄👍 But for now they're both gonna start out somewhat equal,😊 Losi 10 vs the Traxxas Slash you ask, "even though you didn't" 😄 The Losi 10 is technically a Pedigree Race vehicle compared to the Slash, The "Slash" as Awesome as it is, Just isn't a Competition Race vehicle,😕 it's meant more for goofing around and having fun with, "backyards, skate parks, backyard race tracks, light bashing, and plain old general fun,😁👍 and the Losi 10 scte 3.0 is meant for the professional RC race circuit,😕🤔 hmm ? I haven't driven either vehicle as of yet, so I can't call it yet as to which vehicle I like more,🤔 I honestly have to say that at the moment, I almost wish that I got a Ultimate Slash VXL as well,😕😊 it's pretty freekin sweet,😁👍 The Losi is pretty Bad A$$ as well, but man.. there was a few things about it that I just didn't care for when I was building it,🤔 It's sweet and all, but ya.. at the moment, I kinda wish that I got a Slash too,😕 Grant it, the Losi won't be totally up to it's peak performance until I install a Tekin 4600kv motor and RX8 ESC into it, But at the same time I don't plan on actually racing it either,😕 I basically got it for the same reason my Brother bought the Slash, For goofing around and having fun with, as well as the friendly odd race around my future Short course track,😁 So ya.. at the moment, I almost wish that I got a Ultimate Slash as well,😕😊👍 It's a Slick Rig! I'm almost certain that you guys would enjoy them Brent,😁🤘100%🤘 I had my eye on the Black/White Fox bodied Slash, But for the money The ultimate edition is a much better way to go,😊👍 oh I almost forgot, We also installed a Traxxas VXL electric fan kit on my brothers Slash, "just to be on the safe side" 😁 So keep that in mind, you might want to spring for a couple of Fan's as well.😊 Fyi the fan's aren't that expensive 😕 and probably worth the extra assurance. I had a blast with the Slash at a show in Germany a couple of years ago and it was so much fun 😎 it wasn't fitted with TSM so I could get it to get up on 2 wheels in the corners, the more I played with it the longer I could get down the straightaway on 2 wheels.😁 I would have bought one but the guys on the Spektrum trade stand took all my money 🤣 and as usual, another good Out Of The Box review... umm,🤔 You can Totally run it on nimh if you wanted to, You just have to Read through the manual, and setup the esc for a NiMh battery, I believe that it's setup for a Lipo out of the box, 🤔 But it's totally capable of running on a NiMh battery,😕 Once again, All you need to do is Read through the manual, and Change the settings on the Electronic Speed Controller.😊👍 If I'm not mistaking, It can run on a 6, or 7 cell NiMh. The only drawback from running on a NiMh, Would be a Much shorter run time, vs running it on a Lithium Polymer battery.🤔😕 Thanks for your great question, and thanks for checking out the video my friend.😊👍
I couldn't say really, 😕 They are both Great vehicles, 🤔 And I haven't seen either in Action as of yet,😕 This Traxxas slash belongs to my brother, and we haven't gotten around to putting a battery in it as of yet,😂 lol He is kinda waiting for me to finish Building my Losi 10 scte 3.0 4×4 SC truck, Before he actually takes the Slash for a spin,😊 The Losi 10 is built, but I still need to paint the body and slap the Electronics in it,🙄 Fyi I don't recommend the Losi 10 scte 3.0,🤔 The instructions are Crap! They don't include anything but the exact needed hardware to complete the kit, And I stripped out every screw for all three of the Vehicle's Differential's,😭 Total Pain in the rear end.🙄 Otherwise the truck is alright.😕 As for Arrma; I can't say too much about them,🤔 I only own 1 Arrma product, And that is the Arrma Nero 6s BLX with the Diff Brain, And that truck has been Nothing But a Problem since day one,🙄 it runs fine on 4s, A little bit slow but it stays together,😕 6s is a different story, It breaks Differential out drive cup's, and wheel spindle cvds, Everytime I run it on 6s,☹️😭 it basically costs me $50.00 dollars or more, Everytime I run it on 6s. 🤔👎 So once again I can't say much about Arrma 😕 But I do like the Senton's 🥰 I just haven't experienced one as of yet.😕😂 lol All I can honestly suggest, Is that you do as much Research as you can before making your decision,😕 The Slash definitely has a Great History for being a great all around Skate park Basher,😁👍 But I'm not sure about the Senton's 😕 And neither one of them are ment for "Actual Racing" That's where the Losi 10's and Tekno's come into play. 😁👍 So for the indecisive answer Oscar 😕 and many thanks for checking out the video my friend.😊🤜🤛 P.S. 😄👍 lol You don't see too many Roll cages on RC Short Course trucks,😕 "the body pretty much takes care of that problem, and a Roll cage would also add extra unsprung weight "that would ultimately change the vehicles overall performance.😕 Have you checked out any of my videos featuring these vehicles in action ? If so you would notice that we've straight up landed these vehicles upside down before "from significant heights no less" and the body does a pretty good job of keeping the vehicle protected. The only real reason for a Roll cage "is to keep your body from getting scratched up, And if you are concerned with getting the body scratched up, then your not going to have much fun with the RC vehicle are you ? 😕 Miles well leave it on a shelf for it's entire life "if you're concerned about getting it scratched.☹️ Moral of the story "is that you don't need a Roll cage or an "Exo Cage" on a Traxxas Slash.😊👍

And the Slash has Stability management,😧 That's Huge! I need to rig up a set-up like that, on my Wltoys, or the old Sledge Hammer, 😂 lol

The Traxxas's body has "factory" written all over it,
I'm not exactly sure how they do it, but I'm assuming that it must be like a super thin, & perfectly placed sheet, that gets heat pressed into the body when they are stamping out the body's,🤔 At least that's what makes sense in my mind,😕 but I could be wrong of course,😂👍 lol
@@R.C.A.D. I think like you, a very thin sheet that they apply with a machine and which this sticks with heat, a bit like a sticker. It makes me think that there are this kind of stickers for real cars, and that we place with a heat gun, it might be good for a rc, after I do not know the prices 🤔

As for the Slash Ultimate Edition; It's been a Great Vehicle so far, and my brother has no regrets about it, As a matter of fact.. we had bought a regular Slash Vxl for my neice awhile back, and then I switched out the chassis on it to the Low Center of Gravity chassis "Which was a big improvement" But it still was no Ultimate Edition Slash,🤔 So we sold the standard Slash Vxl to a friend for a great deal, And then bought my neice the other Ultimate Edition Slash "The Green & Black one" 😄
And she's much happier now. 😂👍 Lol
The Slash Ultimate Edition, is definitely the best way to go, when purchasing a Traxxas Slash. 😁

RC Crawlers put you behind the driver seat, And really get your imagination going at the same time, It's just like driving a Real Full Size 4×4 truck, Except that it's a fraction of the size, and hardly ever breaks down.😁😂👍 lol

Back to your New Slash;
Make sure to take a quick look at the manual before you turn on the truck, There's a spot in the manual that talks about putting the ESC "electronic speed control" into the correct setting for your driving skills, And if you want to get Full Pull out of that baby, Then there's a quick ESC adjustment that will need to be made,🤔😕 It's relativity simple to do, and only takes a few seconds to accomplish, Which involves Holding down the ESC's power button for a few seconds until it starts blinking, and then watching the blinking light until it gets to the setting you want, and then releasing the button to set it in that position.😊
It's a piece of cake really, But I recommend that you find that area in the manual and run through it by yourself one time "before" you drive the vehicle for the first time.😁👍
As for the manual; The thing that I'm talking about should be towards the front of the manual, and will be labeled under "Electronics" or possibly "quick start guide"🤔😕 It's a real simple thing to do, So there's no reason to feel anxious about doing it, It's a piece of cake adjustment to do.😊👍
That ESC has a couple of different modes; Sport, Training, and Race.
Race mode gives you full throttle forward with a brake in the reverse position, and no actual reverse.
Training mode drops the vehicle down to half power, and gives you Forward, Reverse, and a Braking action when you first put it into Reverse.
Sport mode gives you Full throttle forward and reverse, with a brake mode when you first put it into Reverse.😁
And "Sport mode" is the one that you want.😊👍
And if you have any questions about it on the day of delivery, Let me know, And I'll dig into a manual & walk you through the process if needed.😊👍

It isn’t my first RC, I’ve done a couple planes, a couple drones and quite a few helicopters.
I’ve seen a few crawler videos, but I spent a lot of years building rock crawlers, I’m pretty familiar with just about all the ways to build a Jeep TJ lol, I’ll admit that
I like the idea of building an RC crawler, but watching the videos, I’m missing the point of it maybe, I’ve spent a lot of years in Jeeps in Moab, I lived in Wyoming for over 20 years and crawlers are just a way of life in the high desert. This is the first RC truck I’ve had since around 1980, I like the versatility and all the upgrades you can do, I ordered the truck today from Traxxas, and about $450 worth of other stuff from Amazon, so it’ll be fun learning something new.

Running the 19 tooth pinion with the center differential, the Slash Ultimate is a epic!!! We love chasing each other around in big open parking lots, in the middle of the night!!! 😎
😆🤜🤛 yes sir, We have a ton of slash extras sitting here currently, 19t Pinion, complete spare center diff with three different spur gears, a couple of different sets of tires, some other odds and ends items, and I literally just installed the Electric fan on the ESC about twenty minutes ago, along with swapping out the Traxxas battery connector for a XT90, 😁🤜🤛
That way we're not stuck with Traxxas's "25c" 2s, or 3s Lipos, "25c" psh! 🙄 50c is more like it,😁👍 lol

I think that it's partially because, these are the RC Vehicle's that I wish that they made, when I was a kid,😁 I was born in 74, and I have owned a great deal of RC's since the age of 4, but the stuff that is out these days, is absolutely insane by comparison, to the old Tamiya's, Kyosho's, RC 10's, and whatnot from the old days,🙄😊 especially when you get into the RC Construction Equipment, 🤯 mind blown!

@@R.C.A.D. You bet! I was born in ‘62 and still chase old toys, I either wish I had as a kid or had, but no longer own. An example would be my Evel Knievel Stunt Cycle; which a company in California recently started making again. When I was younger, I also had several cheap RC cars from Radio Shack, but the two I wish I still had are the 1984 Jeep Renegade and the 1990ish Black Phantom 4WD buggy. Still, as you mentioned, those toys were nothing like the hobby grade RCs available today. And there are so many to choose from, it’s both amazing and overwhelming. Great stuff.

Is my Brother still satisfied with the purchase, And that is a definite,😁 although he hasn't actually driven it yet,😂 it's been sitting in the garage all summer, just poised and ready to Rock, But once again we haven't had it out yet,🤔 Couple of reasons for that, One is that he works nights throughout the week, and generally has the weekends off, and mother nature has been giving us rain on just about every weekend,☹️ And the second reason, is that he's been waiting for me to finish my Losi 10 scte 3.0 4×4 SC truck build,😕 I've had my Losi built for several months now, but I haven't gotten around to painting it yet, until now, I just ordered paint, and a set of tires for it two days ago, and that 💩 should be here by Wednesday,😁👍 so hopefully by next weekend it will be finished, and we can bust them both out at the same time for there First Run,😊👍 my Losi 10 calls for a 4600kv brushless motor, But for the sake of argument, and "friendly competition" I'm going to start out with the same motor that's in the slash, which is the Traxxas VXL 3s 3500kv Valeneon Brushless system,😁👍 Trying to keep the first run as even as possible, but after that I'll be switching it up to a 4600kv Tekin with a Tekin RX8 ESC,😄👍 But for now they're both gonna start out somewhat equal,😊
Losi 10 vs the Traxxas Slash you ask, "even though you didn't" 😄 The Losi 10 is technically a Pedigree Race vehicle compared to the Slash, The "Slash" as Awesome as it is, Just isn't a Competition Race vehicle,😕 it's meant more for goofing around and having fun with, "backyards, skate parks, backyard race tracks, light bashing, and plain old general fun,😁👍 and the Losi 10 scte 3.0 is meant for the professional RC race circuit,😕🤔 hmm ? I haven't driven either vehicle as of yet, so I can't call it yet as to which vehicle I like more,🤔 I honestly have to say that at the moment, I almost wish that I got a Ultimate Slash VXL as well,😕😊 it's pretty freekin sweet,😁👍
The Losi is pretty Bad A$$ as well, but man.. there was a few things about it that I just didn't care for when I was building it,🤔 It's sweet and all, but ya.. at the moment, I kinda wish that I got a Slash too,😕 Grant it, the Losi won't be totally up to it's peak performance until I install a Tekin 4600kv motor and RX8 ESC into it, But at the same time I don't plan on actually racing it either,😕 I basically got it for the same reason my Brother bought the Slash, For goofing around and having fun with, as well as the friendly odd race around my future Short course track,😁 So ya.. at the moment, I almost wish that I got a Ultimate Slash as well,😕😊👍 It's a Slick Rig!

I had my eye on the Black/White Fox bodied Slash, But for the money The ultimate edition is a much better way to go,😊👍 oh I almost forgot, We also installed a Traxxas VXL electric fan kit on my brothers Slash, "just to be on the safe side" 😁
So keep that in mind, you might want to spring for a couple of Fan's as well.😊
Fyi the fan's aren't that expensive 😕 and probably worth the extra assurance.
Even though we still haven't ran it as of yet.😂 Lol I'm looking at it right now, it's sitting 15ft to my right, and I can see it peeking out from under it's dust cover, One Hell of a nice truck I tell ya.😊👍👍

it wasn't fitted with TSM so I could get it to get up on 2 wheels in the corners, the more I played with it the longer I could get down the straightaway on 2 wheels.😁

So you can’t ran NiMH batteries on this ?
umm,🤔 You can Totally run it on nimh if you wanted to, You just have to Read through the manual, and setup the esc for a NiMh battery, I believe that it's setup for a Lipo out of the box, 🤔 But it's totally capable of running on a NiMh battery,😕
Once again, All you need to do is Read through the manual, and Change the settings on the Electronic Speed Controller.😊👍
If I'm not mistaking, It can run on a 6, or 7 cell NiMh.
The only drawback from running on a NiMh, Would be a Much shorter run time, vs running it on a Lithium Polymer battery.🤔😕

They are both Great vehicles, 🤔 And I haven't seen either in Action as of yet,😕 This Traxxas slash belongs to my brother, and we haven't gotten around to putting a battery in it as of yet,😂 lol He is kinda waiting for me to finish Building my Losi 10 scte 3.0 4×4 SC truck, Before he actually takes the Slash for a spin,😊 The Losi 10 is built, but I still need to paint the body and slap the Electronics in it,🙄 Fyi I don't recommend the Losi 10 scte 3.0,🤔 The instructions are Crap! They don't include anything but the exact needed hardware to complete the kit, And I stripped out every screw for all three of the Vehicle's Differential's,😭 Total Pain in the rear end.🙄 Otherwise the truck is alright.😕
As for Arrma; I can't say too much about them,🤔 I only own 1 Arrma product, And that is the Arrma Nero 6s BLX with the Diff Brain, And that truck has been Nothing But a Problem since day one,🙄 it runs fine on 4s, A little bit slow but it stays together,😕 6s is a different story, It breaks Differential out drive cup's, and wheel spindle cvds, Everytime I run it on 6s,☹️😭 it basically costs me $50.00 dollars or more, Everytime I run it on 6s. 🤔👎
So once again I can't say much about Arrma 😕 But I do like the Senton's 🥰 I just haven't experienced one as of yet.😕😂 lol
All I can honestly suggest, Is that you do as much Research as you can before making your decision,😕
The Slash definitely has a Great History for being a great all around Skate park Basher,😁👍 But I'm not sure about the Senton's 😕

I was researching the 2 and the senton rear end seemed to wash out a lot. I just bought this truck.
I would get one but there’s no roll cage or any protection up top

You don't see too many Roll cages on RC Short Course trucks,😕 "the body pretty much takes care of that problem, and a Roll cage would also add extra unsprung weight "that would ultimately change the vehicles overall performance.😕
Have you checked out any of my videos featuring these vehicles in action ?
If so you would notice that we've straight up landed these vehicles upside down before "from significant heights no less" and the body does a pretty good job of keeping the vehicle protected.
The only real reason for a Roll cage "is to keep your body from getting scratched up, And if you are concerned with getting the body scratched up, then your not going to have much fun with the RC vehicle are you ? 😕
Miles well leave it on a shelf for it's entire life "if you're concerned about getting it scratched.☹️
Moral of the story "is that you don't need a Roll cage or an "Exo Cage" on a Traxxas Slash.😊👍
