God I hate his lol…….!
Sorry David I suppose that I just can't help it at times, or I don't notice it,or maybe it's just a nervous tic or something, Either way my apologies for annoying you Dave, and God bless you for being such a great person.🙏
Don't know if you can help i have a Hunia 580 and I haven't used it in years with the battery lost i just brought one and tested out and the light is flashing red. No moment just dead. Light is flashing red on the digger. I can't work it out. What is the issue
Assuming that you have fully charged batteries to start with, And that all your battery connections, and on/off switches are working properly,🤔 My next thought would be that you're Transmitter might be out of sync with the Excavator.😕 I would try turning the Transmitter on first "and then the excavator second" And then waiting a few seconds to see if everything jives.😕 And then hmm 🤔? Darn it... You're gonna make me have to look for the 1580's manual aren't you 😄 lol you gotta understand that I have many RC's on the channel, and that my 1580 excavator is one of the vehicles that gets used the least,😄 so I'm gonna have to see if I can find the excavators manual, and look to see if it says anything about "how to rebind the transmitter to the machine" (A few minutes later) alright according to the manual the 1580 Excavator automatically pairs itself with the transmitter.😕 They say to turn the Excavator on First, And then turn the Transmitter on Second and a frequency pairing sound should be emitted "with beeps" indicating that the frequency has been paired. ☝️And that's all the information given for that. 😕 And apparently after looking through the entire manual "which is more like a pamphlet than a manual" There's absolutely nothing about trouble shooting.🤔 But it does talk about the ability to put a password on the transmitter 😕❓ which technically will disable the system "unless you know the password and remember the process for entering it into the transmitter. But thankfully according to the manual, that can be reset back to "the original boot mode" by pressing both of the small buttons "located below the display screen" at the same time for 3 seconds, and that will delete the old password and put everything back into neutral again.😊 The transmitter also has a timer function available as well, 😕 But personally speaking I don't mess with either one of them, just because it's so easy to forget how everything has to be programmed in, and I'd rather not deal with that hassle.😂lol One last thought, is that you might want to check out the condition of your transmitter batteries.🤔❓ You said that you hadn't used the excavator in a while, and some people "or most people really" have the tendency of leaving batteries inside transmitters, and remote controls, when there not being used for extended durations. So there's a slight possibility "that if you left your batteries in the transmitter for any length of time" that you might have some battery corrosion going on between the batteries, and the battery connection tabs inside the transmitter.🤔❓ I don't think that "that" would be the problem, but you might want to check out your transmitter batteries just to be on the safe side.😁👍 Otherwise I wish you all the best with getting things figured out, 😊👍 and my apologies if I wasn't any help.😔
@R.C.A.D. thank you so much for reaching out. I brought this 5 years ago, I think, but I can't remember if it came with a charger or not.ill have a go and will let you know the outcome. Thank you 😊
@R.C.A.D. I just ordered the charger and tried what you suggested, and it still light blinks. I'll wait and let you know after I get the charger and try step two. Thank you once again and take care.🇳🇿
@davidlibline1757 Right on 😊👍
@R.C.A.D. 👍👍
Thank You for Sharing this Build and Everything you've done for the shortened Wheel Base on the Gen 8 V2... I'm about to undertake the same process but with a 312mm (12.3") body from Jconcepts Fortunately I have gotten a 3D printer and figured this would be a Great way to learn more about 3D design also...😉 Oh yeah I just Subbed too 🎊 ✌🤠👍 HFLPRCing =Having Fun Laughing Playing and RCing 👍😎👍 AOAH =Association of Addicted Hobbiest 🙏 SSPH =Stay Safe and Play Healthy 🌟 Blessings from the Great Smoky Mountains East Tennessee
Much appreciated for your kindness & Sub my friend.😊🙏 3D printer; I wish I had one.... 😄 Great Smokey Mountains Tennessee; I've been there a few times on ATV Riding trip's to the Wind Rock OHV Park in Oliver Springs, and it was always a great time.😁 Tennessee would be great place to own a RC Crawler "the environment is absolutely perfect" I'm kinda jealous! 😕😄 I wish you all the best with your build brother, and thanks for checking out the channel.😊👍👉🏆
Top notch display as usual 👍
Thanks Doug... Although "to me" I found it to be a bit disappointing, "not the video itself" but the truck. I find myself being disappointed with the Scx10 III, and no matter what I do to it to make it better, it just keeps letting me down.😕 I think the next step with this truck is going to be a Overdrive front Ring & Pinion, and a set of High Clearance links, along with removing the spare tire and relocating the battery & or switching to a smaller battery for less weight. And hopefully "after all that" it will be a little bit better the next time around.😊
Nice truck , get the battery up front and ditch the spare tire you'll go better 😊
Good call Jimbo, I wanted to keep the truck looking somewhat stock, but I agree with ditching the spare tire, that's just excess B.S. weight that doesn't need to be there.😁 As far as the battery location; I've been planning on that since the first run on the rocks, but just haven't done it yet.😁👍 Ultimately I should get rid of the driver figure, and the lead counter weight on the opposite side of the truck too,😂 But I'm not willing to do that just yet.. I think that every RC looks better with a driver figure behind the wheel.😊 Thanks for your great suggestions, and for checking out the video my friend.😁👍👉🏆
@R.C.A.D. I get the driver stuff , just get a little more up front , of course I would put on bigger tires and trim the body some but I just love my Dremel LoL
@jimbo4203 😄 ha ha ha The Dremel part got me laughing 😂 👍🤜🤛
@@R.C.A.D. just Subbed you got some good stuff
@jimbo4203 My apologies for the late response Jimbo, I just finished a 5+ hour tour, doing a last minute lawn cleanup over here. But much appreciated for the sub, and I can't thank you enough for the channel compliments.😊👍🤜🤛
It's a good run.The wheels look great👍✨️✨️✨️🇺🇲
Thanks Kevin...😁🙏 I'm going to do what "Jimbo4203" suggested, and get rid of the spare tire, along with either "A" Relocate the battery to a more central location, or "B" Switch to a much smaller and lighter weight battery, or possibly even both.😄 It also needs high clearance links going to the axles, along with a Overdrive front Ring & Pinion gear set "to help it dig in on the front axle a bit more" After all that, it should be a drastic improvement.😄 If only I had the extra money.😔 Until then, I'll just try getting rid of the spare tire and relocating the battery, and then hopefully it will be a bit better.😄 As for the wheels; Much appreciated..😊 these wheels have been kicking around forever, "and until this truck came along" they just wouldn't work with anything else.😂 Lol
The tires on the gen 8 huge compared the ones on the TRX four should at least put the same size tires on
Those are the exact same tires on both vehicles, the only difference between the two, is that the Gen 8 has sealed aluminum beadlock wheels, and the Trx4 has its stock plastic wheels "with air holes in the wheels" and extremely well broken in tires and foams. "Ultimately speaking" the Trx4s tires had the advantage over the Redcat Gen 8's tires and the Gen 8 still came out on top. 😄 Lol
I kno I’m late commenting on this video from 3yrs ago but damn ur a genius!! 🤙as for the weights I found pieces of flat metal n I cut n shaped them to fit n I put double sided tape to stick it
😁🙏 Thanks man... And nice job with the flat metal weights and double sided tape... I like your style, that's my kinda thinking right there...😄👍
@ thanks great mind think alike
@mr.sinister1279 I hear that 😄🤜🤛👉🏆
@mr.sinister1279 Check out this video if you're looking for a good dump truck to go along with the Excavator. This is one of my latest creations 👇 ruclips.net/video/frq27mPZIwo/видео.html
@@R.C.A.D. ok
Handling very well on the big rocks.
Is that your final answer 😄 because you might want to revise that comment after you finish watching the video.😂 I'm not very impressed with the Axial Scx10 III so far, I'd almost say pound for pound, that it's probably one of the worst rock crawlers that I own.😂 Lol I'm trying to make it better off-road "but ultimately" that Heavy Bronco body is gonna have to go, in order to make that happen.🤔 Which is too bad because I kinda like that body style.😞 But the body is just too darn heavy, and the battery is in a terrible location, but if I get rid of the body for something lighter, and relocate the battery so that it's running vertically down the center of the chassis, instead of across the back in front of the rear tires, Then I might be able to get this thing to crawl halfway decent.😄 But at that point it's no longer a Axial Scx10 iii Bronco, and would basically be nothing.😕 I need to get this thing to crawl good with this Body on it, or else it just wouldn't be right otherwise.😊 So far "when it comes to this Rockpile" My nieces Redcat Gen 8, and her Vaterra K10 Ascender, are probably the best two vehicles that I've ran out here,😁 and my little Bronco Ascender did pretty good too.😊 As for this Bronco... I'm not done with it yet,😄 I'm determined to make this thing a good vehicle one way or another.😁👍 Thanks for your Kindness towards the Bronco brother, and much appreciated "as always" for checking out the show.😄👍🤜🤛👉🏆
@@R.C.A.D. Chassis is too low. If you. have big tires like Traxxas Summit then it could climbs up without struggling.
@jdpaslRC 😄 ha ha ha lol I like your style brother 😂
Yeah, you know the only benefit of running Traxxas 2.2 is there is less rubber. Because there’s still only 475 tall same thing as a 1.9 which does help inside healing when you have less rubber from the rim to the tread. I agree with the comment that you should get a set of J concept tusk one of the best tires in the industry. Or since you don’t run competitions, a set of megalithic by Jay concept probably would be your best tire for the outdoor series. You might have to rename your RUclips channel to the haunted RC course. Those orbs are crazy. It seems like maybe the battery or the radio and receiver super excites that stored energy in the quartz rock. And I also think your truck would have benefited with some rubber bands on the front shocks to help. Keep the front end drawered down. I will be happy to send you what I use. They are rubber bands made for outdoor use. I would try that before I added more weight to the axle. Just my opinion.
Right on to your entire comment Dan 😄👍 Other than the Traxxas 2.2 comment, my 2.2 Traxxas canyon trail tires are 5.3 inches in outer diameter. But otherwise I agree with everything else.😁👍
Needs over and under drive gears Bid time and sway bars front and rea
Good call... "A Overdrive on the front" Would definitely be helpful,😁👍 although I think that a larger spur gear, would probably be the most beneficial thing "right out of the gate" In order to get a little bit more low end power out of it.😊 But putting a Overdrive Ring & Pinion on the front differential. Would definitely be helpful for keeping the front end stuck to the ground.😁👍 Sway bars are a good idea too "at least for certain things" but isn't that the first thing that gets disconnected when you want to take a real world vehicle off-road.😄 Lol jk But sway bars would definitely be useful. Especially for keeping the Bombers rear axle from rubbing on the frame "while articulating" 🤔 And if a person couldn't afford a set of sway bars, they could also limit that "excess twist" with a couple of 5 mm rubber bump stops on the outside of the rear shock pistons.😁 It would also be helpful if I actually rebuilt the half empty shocks, and tried tuning the suspension to go along with it.😂 Ha ha ha lol Unfortunately I only have X amount of money to work with, and the Bomber is ahh...🤔 hmm? How do I put this? I've had the bomber sitting around "as a rolling chassis" for a few years now, And then I decided to slap it together "using spare parts" just so I had another RC truck to film with out on that rockpile.😄 (And I wasn't willing to break the bank doing it) So without investing too much into it "other than wrenching time" I was trying to get as much out of this truck "as I could" with the littlest amount of money invested.😂 Ha ha ha lol Anyways... Right now I've got another vehicle sitting on the work bench (which is my Axial Scx 24 Jeep JLU CRC) and it's got a brand new brushless motor, and esc "that should be arriving some time this afternoon" 😁 "And after that" I might focus on the Axial Scx10 III, And try to make that a little bit better off-road. And then I might move back to the Bomber,🤔? maybe... ...will see...😄 lol Either way "Many Thanks for your Great Suggestions Jesse. I'll definitely keep that in mind, the next time I start ordering parts for this thing.😊👍
Did i miss on the video, but how big that area is that you guys have. Looks so huge
It only looks big because it's surrounded by trees 😊 if it was all cleared off, and had a fence going around it, it would probably look a lot smaller.😄 Lol But I certainly appreciate your compliments my friend, and I can't thank you enough for checking out the video.😁🙏🤜🤛👉🏆
Wow what an amazing place that is🎉
😊🙏 Thanks man...
Wow, id love a month with all those rc cars :D
😄👍 I don't blame you, it's kinda like walking into a toy store over here.😁
The partial skull scalp was interesting. There must be indians in that area
For sure on the interesting factor with the scalped skull Fossil/Rock.😕 And I'm sure there was natives in this area, at one point or another. That's easy to see with all the wild onions, and plantain, that grows up everywhere around here during the spring and summer months. Every spring about 95% of the forest floor is nothing but Leeks "wild onions", and the Plantain tends to grow in the more open areas, but it's definitely plentiful as well.😊 Not to mention all Raspberry bushes around here,🙄 there's Raspberries up the wahzoo! And wild Strawberries too! 😄 Lol And there's a lake about 3 miles to the south. Combine that with deer and other wild game, And there's definitely enough wild food sources to sustain a tribe.😄👍
That Rock with the 2 holes that's a campfire starter. You stick your stick in there and spin that stick in a hole and And That's how you get your Camp Fire going back in the old days for the settlers. Interesting video.
Two holed rock; A firestarter you say... It certainly could be, I definitely didn't think about that option.😄 Although it might be a little bit big for that purpose, I was thinking that it might have been a small boat anchor ⚓ at first, but when I started doing Google searches on it, it kinda looked like a perfect match with the late 1800's to early 1900's plow stone, used by Irish potato farmers.😕 Which could be a good possibility since there's a crap ton of potato farms in these parts.😕 Either way "they are all very interesting Rock's.😊 Thanks for your great comments and suggestion Kevin, and much appreciated as always for checking out the video. 😁👍🤜🤛
One more thing... I'm not sure if you got the notification or not, but I actually uploaded two videos yesterday,😁 This was the first video and then I uploaded another Rock crawl video featuring the long travel custom Gen 8 Vs my brother's long travel Trx4 Bronco. I uploaded those two videos back to back, so I wasn't sure whether, or not, that people were getting notified for them both.😕
Great video bro! The Rock Pile looks way sweet!! Both vehicles killin' it out there, love how low and stable the Gen 8 is 👑😎 It's about time you started an affiliation with AMain , the first time I heard about the website was from your videos way back in the day and have been a customer with them ever since. Again , outstanding video, Ian's Bronco is lookin' cleannnnn 😁
Thanks Matt... 😁🙏 And the rock pile is a lot of fun... So far the custom Gen 8 is kinda sitting in the number one position out of all the RC's on the channel, the only other challenger, is my niece's other truck "the yellow K10 Ascender" 😕 So on the next nice day I need to do one more final shootout "between the Gen 8 and the K10 Ascender" 😁 Amain Affiliate Program; That's a little bit of a story that started with a late delivery, and turned into a Affiliate invite from Amain Hobbies.😄 It took me a month or two to figure out all the particulars, but after that it was game on... 😁👍 So the next time you think about purchasing something from Amain, let me know on Instant Messenger, and I'll send you a link to the item instead.😁 Technically speaking you don't even have to purchase the item from the link, "as long as you follow the link into Amain Hobby's, I'll end up getting a credit from your total sale. So the more you purchase "the more of a percentage I'll get in return" It's basically like a sales commission that doesn't cost the purchaser a single cent "other than the initial cost for the items" otherwise the sales commission, comes straight out of Amain Hobby's pocket book.😁👍 Thanks for your Awesome Compliments Matt... And we're all looking forward to your next visit out here. 😁👍🤜🤛
Love the walk n talks👍
Thanks Doug... And I know that you do,😄 "Which is one of the reasons it says Coffee Time on the thumbnail" 😁👍 I actually dropped two videos yesterday back to back, this one, and a "on the Rocks" video, featuring the Redcat Gen 8 vs Ian's trx4 bronco. It was a very rare Sunday double feature.😁 Thanks for your seal of approval, and for taking the time to check out the video. 😊👍🤜🤛
I just heard you say your running 2.2's if that's the case then you should try the 2.2 jconcepts ruptures with the included foam inserts.
Ha..😄👍 2.2's on my brother's Trx4 Bronco, or at least that's what he prefers on that truck.😊 And I'm undecided when it comes to my Trx4 Bronco.😄 Lol But I definitely appreciate the suggestions either way.😁👍🤜🤛
Even if you stick with the canyon trails you need softer inserts on the red cat
Yeah man...😁👍 The channel Sub that stopped by had custom 3d printed inserts in his tires and I was absolutely amazed by the performance.😁 I'm sold on the inserts! 😊👍
I'm watching the Red cat right now and trust me when I tell you. It will make that small climb easy if you get a set of 1.9 jconcepts tusk tires with injora blue silicone inserts. The investment is a must have. I haven't yet watched the bronco but I guarantee that combo will work on it as well.
Right on... 😊👍 A channel Sub stopped by for a few days around Halloween and brought some Jconcept Tusk's along with him, and I could quickly see the advantage. 😊 One mental note about the RedCat tires "is that their sitting on sealed Beadlock Wheels vs the Trx4 having plastic with air vents.😕 Temperature also comes into play with the sealed wheels,🤔 if they were put together in 70° degree weather, and then used in a colder temperature "the tires will contract" and if they are used in a warmer temperature they tend to expand,😕 Which also plays a small role with tire flex.😊 But I totally hear ya... About the tires and inserts, And I'm definitely making a mental note of it all.😁👍 Thanks for the great suggestions and for checking out the video my friend.😊👍🤜🤛
Funny to see that weather,we did get first snow 20cm,melted to 4cm in last few days, do u like the 1.9 more than 2.2 on trx
We haven't had any snow yet, but it's certainly been cold enough to snow lately.😄 1.9 vs 2.2 🤔? All depends really "they both have their own sweet spots" But we mainly ran 1.9's on the Bronco just to keep it even between the two vehicles.😊
Yeaaa new video🎉
😊🙏👉🏆

Good video Buddy 📹 👍 👌
Much appreciated Kevin 😁🙏🤜🤛
A little off topic but does the Bronco come with the Spektrum esc/receiver in one combo? And if so do you notice any difference? I do not have anything with the 2 in one.
Why yes it does Doug "as for the differences" not sure really 🤔 it's definitely bulky that's for sure, and it's got a capacitor plugged into one of the auxiliary channels that says "Do Not Remove" it's got a super short antenna at around 1" long, and other than that I really don't know all that much about it.😄 "Which sounds bad from a RC guy" but the reality is that it's only been driven a handful of times, and I'm just starting to dive into it with small mods, so I'm probably going to need some more run time with the ESC combo, before I can really give you an opinion on it. Hmm 🤔 now that you got me thinking about it I'm starting to get concerned about something. I was thinking about purchasing a Hobby Wing 1200kv 2 in 1 brushless motor "with the built-in ESC" and now I'm wondering if it would even work with it "since it's got that Receiver/ESC combo in the truck"🤔 so motor has a built in esc and so does the receiver 😕 That might be a problem! 🤔 So yeah.... Not sure what to say about that combo just yet brother.😄 Lol
You are correct about the stance. It really should do the trick and the tire/wheel combo look awesome !
😊🙏 Thanks Doug..... Hopefully it makes a difference the next time out. Either way "the extra track width definitely improves it's looks a little bit.😄 Lol Thanks for your approval brother and many more for checking out the video. 😁🤜🤛
all foam planes are made from very cheap soft rubbish foam which are made to be used to package other goods, so their inner structure bends and then never flies good after crashes. you cant crash good hard foam plane, i have some good foam examples from car industry and this cheap foam same thickness, it is impossible to bend good foam, but this cheap foam you can destroy easily by bending. good foam is 10 times more sturdy. it is impossible to damage plane if it is made from good foam, they simple are indestructible.
Very interesting...😊 It's too bad that the majority of RC plane manufacturers don't use that stuff. But then again if they lasted forever, it would kinda kill their repeat sales a little bit.😄 Edited for a typo
Anything treal is nice! Yes, you pay for it. But you always get quality. I personally run mostly treal wheels Because they are some of the heaviest wheels. And the fit and finish is spot on!!! I agree that you only wanna add the weight you need. No extra just because the Internet tries to make you think you need it. I have a comp truck that does not have any brass. And it’s a contender for a podium finish on any given weekend. That’s why testing is so important. Same thing with suspension tuning only change one thing at a time ! Or you take a chance of getting lost in your suspension. One thing at a time and then you know with testing if it made it better or worse if you change five things at one time you don’t know which one fix the problem or made the problem worse. This is just my theory.
Wow that was a very thorough comment Dan, and that's why they call you the Professor.😁👍 Treal; it's my first experience with Treal, but so far I'm impressed with their quality, not to mention that they included extra hardware with their wheel hexes and Samix did not, I had to purchase the Stainless steel hex pins separately with the Samix hexes, and the Treal Brass hexes included them, and they were just about the same price too.😕 I'm not trying to sound anti Samix, but so far I've had a much better experience with Treal versus Samix.😊 Truck balance perfection; Very tuff to achieve, if a person is bouncing all over the place with adding a bunch of Brass Goodies.😄 As far as the rest of the vehicle balancing with Suspension, Shock length and whatever Tire's & Wheel's... I'm still a nub and I'm slowly trying to figure that stuff out.😄👍 Thanks for the great comment Dan, and for taking the time to check out the video, very much appreciated my friend. 😁🤜🤛
Yeah good video. I've been busy Caught up in the election cycle, hoping and praying... that it.will turn out well
Thanks Kevin... 😁👍 I was busy messing with video stuff for most of the day, but I did get out and vote, and it looks like it turned out for the best.😁
Absolutely fantastic 👏👏👏👏🏆
Sorry for the short reply Kevin, I was actually awake around the clock on election day,😕 I woke up early Tuesday afternoon to go vote "after a long night of editing videos, and then I continued to edit video until about midnight on Tuesday and then I got on RUclips and started watching live feeds of the election coverage until about 4:30 or 5am, and then I went back to editing video for a hour or two before uploading that next video "of changing the pinion gear on the Scx10 III" and then I took a short nap for a hour or two, and was up for the rest of the day after that all the way up to when you left this last comment,😄 and then I fell asleep again 😴 and now I'm back up again at 4:55 am 😂 lol
Sorry, I had to come back to your video after I watched it once because I forgot to give it a thumbs up
Ha ha ha.. no reason to apologize Dan, I just appreciate the fact that you watched it.😊🙏
Yeah, that truck needs a big brushless. With a 9t pinion bigger spur. Or see what you can get for differential gearing. Or put a element transmission in it. If you would like to try an element transmission, I would be happy to let you use one.
Ha ha ha lol 😄👍 It's already got this 9t pinion gear on it, "so the next step is to find a bigger spur gear"😁 and if that's not possible then it will be on to a different Transmission, or a bigger badder brushless motor, or it might enter my "money saving program" and get stripped down and sold for something better.😂 Thanks for your wise advice Dan, and much appreciation for checking out the Axial Bummer.😄👍 Lol
That is some impressive work mate. I have a 1592 that is pretty weak and Im looking to do some similar upgrades to it. I do have one question about the servo screw actuators though. If you extend them all the way out, will the screw fall out of the tube or is there something inside them that stops this from happening? While using the 1592, I often found myself leaving one of the sticks on too long causing the gears to click because it had reached the end of its stroke and any of those times could be a time one of these screws twist themselves completely out and just fall out leaving either the arm or the bucket fall limp so I would have to try and fit it back in. I know limiter switches would stop this but I would prefer not to have to use them cos its a pain to fit them and they look weird and can get damaged also. Particularly the one near the bucket I would reckon. I have also seen a 1593 replacement arm complete with all the servos etc on aliexpress that could be used to just replace the 1592 one but I dont know it it will fit. It would be great if it did cos by the time you add up all the cost of parts, you could probably just buy a more powerful machine instead and not have to do any of this tedious work haha.
Ha ha ha 😁👍 Alright let's start at the beginning... "Many thanks for your kindness" 😊🙏 Next.... Is a "Yes" the worm gear screw will fall out if it over extends,😞 which means that limiters are a must "if you have a habit of holding the controls on for too long.😊 I've had that problem with this machine and have broken stuff because of it.🥺 Limiters are a pain to install, but their worth it for people like you and I.😄 lol On to the next item; Aftermarket Metal Arms with pre notched holes for the servo's and included limiters.🤔? I bought a set of those back in 2019 for this machine, but haven't gotten around to installing them yet.😄 And "Yes" They'll work on your excavator too,😊👍 I think that their actually meant for your excavator 🤔 because their a little bit longer than my 1550's stock arm's. On to the Big Question; Is it worth it to do all the mods to your excavator or is it better to get a bigger and better equipped model ? 🤔 The real question becomes "when is it truly good enough, and how much money are you willing to spend" 😕 I've got a highly modified 1593 and a even higher modified 1580, and the 1580 is the best out of the group.🤔 (I have complete build videos for both of those machines as well) Personally I think that the 1580 is the best platform to start off with,😕 "ultimately it has the most aftermarket parts options available" heck... You can even get a Hydraulic Conversion for it if you really want to spend some coin.😄 The question is "when is it good enough ?" RC excavators range from the cheapest of the cheap, all the way up to spending upwards of $15k US dollars. 😵 That's a lot of money for a toy that may hardly get used.🤔😕 I went through all of these thoughts myself at one point, and came to the conclusion that the Huina 1580 is probably the best bang for the buck.😊👍 Check out my channel and look at all my videos if you get a chance, I've got a few excavator videos and I recently built a custom 6×6 off-road capable tipper truck to go along with them.😁👍
@R.C.A.D. thanks for the quick and very helpful reply. I was pretty sure that the worm gears might pop out alright. Thanks for confirming that cos it would have been a nasty surprise for me if I had got a set and to have that happen lol. I guess I will need to think about what to do next cos I was after coming 90% of the way on deciding to buy a set but im not sure anymore 🤔. I was just looking on aliexpress and the complete arm I previously mentioned is actually for a 1594. There is a whole load of parts available by that seller. Everything from tracks, body parts servos and buckets and other attachments for the 1594 on there but one of the options is to buy a complete arm. It is complete with a bucket and servos etc and it's pretty much attach the thing and plug it in. All the wiring is down at the bottom of the arm complete with the plugs. The price is €131.62 which is not bad all inclusive. I reckon it might need some modifications though. I might have to buy the drive motor gearbox and worm gears assembly for it too as I don't think the 1592 one will work with it as it has a regular cog wheel as opposed to the 1594 having a worm gear. Then, there's the wiring and plugs cos the 1594 motherboard is most likely different to the 1592 🤔. Someone else might have tried this already but I was wondering if you reckon it would be possible to basically get a complete arm from a different (more powerful) machine and fit it instead of upgrading the existing one. Sorry for the headache lol but I'm either on to something here or I'm completely wrong 😅
@Irishdrivingbloopers Ha 😁 no worries man... And you definitely cover your bases 😄 I like that! You could probably get that 1594 arm to work, and you are correct in assuming that you might have to get another motherboard to match it, or possibly modify the wires to adapt it. The 1592,1593, & 1594 are all very similar platforms, so the psychical attachment would probably be pretty straight forward, but the wiring and circuit board layouts are the real question,🤔? And since I don't have one torn open in front of me,or know exactly what you're looking at for sale online, I can't give you a definitive answer about any of it.😕 Which I'm sure you understand, since you already have everything so well thought out.😉👍 I think that I would start thinking about "how much money I had to work with,or was willing to spend" as well as how much custom work I was willing to put into it in order to save some extra money vs just spending a little extra to begin with, and starting off with a better building platform, such as a Huina 1580, and then decide if that machine needs any further modification from there, or just leave it as it is, Which is the excavator that you're basically trying to turn your machine into.😄 I did all of that same math a few years ago before I decided it was best to pull the trigger on a 1580 vs trying to turn this little 1550 into one.😕 And then I modified the 1580 a bit further by relocating a couple of magnetic limiters, and allowing the excavator to lift a bit higher "so that you could load a truck on level ground" vs having to use a loading platform.😁 And after that I was pretty much happy with it.😊 Part of me wants to spend the extreme cost and make it fully hydraulic, but for about $200.00 dollars more I could buy a low-end RC4wd hydraulic excavator "which is about $1,400.00" and be way better off for the money invested, vs trying to modify the Huina1580 up to those standards "which it will never be able to match" 😕 Which is why I'm happy with the way my huina 1580 is right now, and have no further need for a better machine. "Which is mainly because I'm cheap and equally poor" 😂😭 lol I would recommend getting a Huina 1580 and deciding if you want or need to modify it further from there.😊👍 As far as your excavator; The mods definitely make it better, but if you do some cost analysis versus custom work that's involved with it versus what you get as a final product,🤔 That you will probably draw the same conclusion as I did, Which is that your better off starting with a Huina 1580. 😕😄👍
I have a new one shelf queening,,,
😄👍 mine might be there shortly lol
Ahh i love high trail flex❤ i was wondering to get 1.9 on my sport ht,but watching your videos,im gonna stick with 2.2 canyon trails, just gotta switch stock rims to heavier metal beadlocks
I truly like canyon trails alot, works in rocks, woods, mosh, mud and snow,i do need to cut them, because packed snow will fill them up
The 2.2's work well there's no doubt about that, but that doesn't mean that 1.9's are useless.🤔 I still use 1.9 tires on my bronco every once and awhile, and that's mainly because "Not all of the different styles of 2.2 tires, will fit under these trucks.😕 So don't give up hope on the 1.9's 😊 certain 1.9 tires "like the Proline Hyrax" still work quite well. 😁👍 Metal beadlock wheels; They are almost mandatory for summer usage,😕 "But when it comes to snow" you're much better off keeping things as light weight as possible, "the lighter your vehicle is, "the better it will perform in the snow, And that's the absolute Truth! 😁👍 Tire trimming; Is always a Do At Your Own Risk Situation, But Its also Very Helpful with the Canyon Trails.😁 The Trx4 Deep Lug Paddle Tracks "also work great in the snow. And I'll leave a link below for those 👇 Just keep in mind that when it comes to snow, Your vehicle absolutely must be "Properly Acclimated" before driving in the snow, Doesn't matter if it's Tires or Tracks, As long as you properly acclimate your vehicle, you won't have a problem with snow sticking to your tires or tracks.😊 (Do Not Spray any Chemicals on your Tires or Tracks to stop snow from sticking) if you properly acclimate your truck, you won't have any problems with snow sticking. FYI I generally talk about "vehicle acclimation" at the beginning of just about every snow run video.😁👍 Link to the Track Kit 👇 www.avantlink.com/click.php?tool_type=cl&merchant_id=4b85b2b7-558e-4304-89fc-54958c8f47f0&website_id=0b07db92-510e-4523-bb4f-6caab546340a&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.amainhobbies.com%2Ftraxxas-trx44-deep-terrain-traxx-set-4-tra8880%2Fp975803
@@R.C.A.D. thank you for your tips :) yeah i must on next drive go to put truck outside before i go driving,i have to admit that i havent done acclimating :f just heard of it on your videos, just got few months ago my first crawler trx4 sport ht :) Your videos are really good, keep it up!:)
@topqualityfi8216 no problem with the tips 😁 And much appreciated for your kindness, and Acclimating you're stuff beforehand is absolutely key.😁👍
Ill say trx4 shocks are better in my opinion than desert lizardz
Definitely... 😊👍🤜🤛 Edited to say this; I'm sure the Desert Lizards have their purposes, but I personally don't have any use for them.😕😂
To me it looks like you keep losing control when the plane turns and comes towards you. For the first time in the beginning, I used to turn my body and look at the plane over my shoulder. Then I avoided that all control was turned in the opposite direction. Much easier to master everything that way before you get used to it and gain more experience.
You're probably right 😄 And since this first flight I acquired a flight simulator "which was donated to the channel thanks to a viewer who recognized my flight inexperience" 😊 my second flight wasn't much better, but I'm slowly figuring everything out.😂 Thanks for your helpful advice, and for taking the time to check out the video. 😁👍
Great video very informative for a new user. It’s a new users actual experience not some experienced RC pilots review of the plane. People like to forget that this is your plane you paid for it. You should be able to do what you want with it without being judged. 👍
Thanks man... And those are my thoughts exactly, most reviews have a professional RC pilot displaying the plane, or they have someone posing as a beginner "but yet they pull off a perfect flight" 😕 My video on the other hand, "is the real deal" A new RC pilot with absolutely zero experience, flying a RC plane for the first time, without having a instructor anywhere nearby.😄 Lol Thanks for your Awesome Compliment my friend. 😁🙏
The TF2 jacked up like that looks like any typical 20 year-old in 1980 that had a truck. Lol.
😁 Exactly... I was young, and this was my first Toyota.😄 I'm older and wiser now, so maybe one day I'll get the truck a little bit closer to the ground, and put it's stock tires back on it, but at the moment she's still sitting in a lifted position.😁 Thanks for the laugh Dan, and much appreciation for checking out the show.😊
Okay so wierd,so my sport high trail would work better with the normal servo bracket, when i little bit lower it but still use 110 stock high trail shocks
Hmm... not to be disrespectful, but I'm not sure that I'm understanding your question..😕 Which makes me want to ask my own question, like "did you watch the entire video without skipping anything in-between ? 😕 If so "then I would think" that your question would answer itself.😊 I was under the impression, that I did a pretty good job "explaining everything that needs to be known" during the video.😕 I'm more than happy to answer your question, I'm just not sure what you're asking exactly.😕 But Yes... If you want to take advantage of those 110 mm shocks, and get every bit of suspension travel that they offer "Then you would have to switch back to the Standard Steering Servo/Panhard Bar Bracket or mount, and get rid of the drop-down bracket/mount.😕 All the proof is right here in this video, and seeing the side by side comparison between a vehicle with the Drop Down Bracket, and the one with the original bracket, is pretty self explanatory.😕😄😉👍
@@R.C.A.D. thank you for answering!😊 i was just a little bit confused, why the heck they made it with that higher bracket😮 im going to order that "standard" trx4 servo bracket, thank you so much for making this video, and thank you for answering my dumb question😂, keep it up my man❤
I dont think the quick attachment would last long in real life use TBH. If sand or water gets into the motor and moving parts, it would be all over for it. That wire sticking out of the side could be damaged too and/or get ripped off during digging a trench etc. The one thing that I reckon nobody thinks about is the difference in leverage with it on. It is putting the bucket a bit further away from the arm so the machine will have to work a bit harder to dig. If you have a good strong machine like the 1580, this might not be an issue but I reckon it might be a bit hard on something like a 1592 that does not have the servos like the 1580 has. I could be wrong here but its just my thought on it and why I decided against getting one myself. I definitely agree that the welding is poor quality on the yellow bucket. I even noticed it before you said it on the video. Same with the ripper. They still should hold up to normal use though. Probably wont even be as obvious when they get dirty from use lol.
Agreed across the board, And the Quick disconnect is worthless too, it gets sand in the threads, and then doesn't want to open "and at that point, it's almost a permanent item,😂 You're much better off without the quick disconnect.😁 As far as everything else; The crappy welds are holding up well.😁 Thanks for your Awesome comments, and many more thanks for checking out the video my friend.😊👍
👍📹📹
😊🙏
May never
That's. True about f m s the bells and whistles I'm not sure I aint wanna buy that stuff anymore.👍💰💰🫡🚗🚗✔️
Right... And did you see the date on that video, "that was filmed before we had any conversations about FMS.😂 I certainly like the looks of all the FMS vehicles, but I don't trust the quality. In my opinion they should be classified as a "shelf model that can occasionally be lightly driven" more than an actual RC crawler "which are also considered models" 😕 Their all considered models really... But most of the other brands are meant for more day to day usage.😕 It's kinda a shame really... I really want to like FMS & Roc Hobby, and I love the way all of their RC's look "including their RC airplanes" But when it comes to purchasing a new RC Crawler! FMS & Roc Hobby, wouldn't be my first choice.😕 (I feel like I'm tip toeing through a minefield here) I really want to like FMS & Roc Hobby, it's just a shame that they use cheaper components on their RC's.🤔 If they stepped it up to a thicker steel frame, with hardened steel drive train components, and quality servo's & electronics,as well as sealed ball bearings throughout. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase from them.😁 But until then I'm just going to consider them as a scale model that you can gently drive around once and awhile.😕 It's the same way with my FMS/Roc Hobby 1/6 scale MB Scaler Willy's Jeep... I absolutely love that Willy's Jeep, but it's clearly not meant for everyday usage,😕 and I think that as long as you treat it for the vehicle it was meant to be "which is a scale model of a old military jeep" and not a competition crawler, that a person wouldn't be disappointed with it.😕 "In other words" if you don't drive it like I drive mine, the jeep should last for awhile.😂 Lol But still...🤔 They definitely could have done better with the jeep too,😕 "it's lacking quiet ah bit! 🤔 It needs a thicker steel frame, more flexible body plastic, hardened steel drive train components, sealed ball bearings throughout, and a full set of led lights "including tail lights" 😕 I mean "I really love that Willy's Jeep! But FMS & Roc Hobby could have done better.😕 But once again... If you treat that Jeep as FMS & Roc Hobby designed it for, then a person wouldn't be disappointed with it.😕😊
Nice. Video buddy. What was that Someone walking around. weird.
Thanks for the compliments Kevin..😁🙏 As far as hearing footsteps in the woods; we never found out what it was, I was too busy trying to concentrate on filming, and my brother Ian said that he didn't see anything. So I'm not sure what it was,😕 could have been a squirrel for all I knew.😂 Lol but I will say this as a definite... There's a ton of orbs flying around in every single one of these "on the Rock's" videos,🤔 (hand to God) I've seen tons of orbs in every single one of those videos,😕 "you can clearly see a few bugs flying around too" But there's a huge difference between an orb in flight vs a bug, Bugs are dark colored and buzz around like an annoying fly, And the orbs are self eliminated & are either white, or purple, or a blueish color, and seem to fly on a more direct route,🤔 and I also witnessed a few flying right through some of these small boulders and keep on trucking like the boulder was never there.😕 Tons of orbs dude! This entire video series has been jam packed with orbs.🤔😕 It really is a Haunted RC Adventure Park, "which has nothing to do with Halloween being around the corner" my RC Adventure Park is haunted all year around. 😂 Ha ha ha lol "True Story" 😕😄😊 Thanks again for your compliments brother, and many more for checking out the video.😊🤜🤛

I was doing some amateur astronomy.on a Dark lonely gravel road at night and I had a feeling something really tall was walking behind me. Just gave me the real creeps like crazy.. Like what the hell? The night of the 14th of octuber.14 2024wow
I was hoping that you were all done with all that stuff because I I have not seen the orbs for many videos
@kevinbreaker2683 Well it's really not up to me "to be done with the orbs" since I'm not in control of them, And after seeing so many of them for so many years, it's almost impossible not to see them anymore.😄 Lol But what I have stopped doing "was not to put any more focus on them during the videos" meaning that I'm not going to interrupt the video "in order to point out orb activity.😕 But their there if you look "there's absolutely no doubt about that.
great video rc
😁🙏 Much appreciated Claudio.
Wow. It’s been a minute since I’ve been on here. Forgot just how much I missed watching these videos!! Glad to see your channel is still going strong and I look forward to watching many more of your videos. I just purchased the scx24 gladiator. Waiting for it to arrive in the mail. I’m super excited I’ve heard great things about these little crawlers. I hope all of what I hear is true!!
Hey.... What's up there Sarah 😊🖐️ how you been....? Hopefully all is well...😁 Scx24 Gladiator; I don't have one, so I can't say anything good or bad about it, 🤔 But I will say this... We haven't had the best long term luck with our Scx24's, my brother's deadbolt has been a problem child since he got it, we've had to replace all the electronics including the motor on his, and my scx24 jeep suddenly quit working last winter about 2 minutes into a video,🤔 nothing works on mine! 🙄 Esc, Motor, Steering Servo, "it all quit working.😕 So yeah.... not sure how I feel about the Scx24's at the moment.😂 But I truly wish you all the best with yours "your's is a newer addition" so hopefully Axial got there stuff squared away on the newer versions.😄 Lol I sincerely wish you all the best with your Gladiator Sarah, and thanks for stopping by to say hi.😊🖐️
@@R.C.A.D. so I received my scx24 yesterday. I was so excited to try it out!! About halfway through the first battery run I lost severe power in reverse. Forward still does fine and steering still does fine. Reverse works but when I say it barely moves I mean it barely moves. Giving I ordered it online I hate dealing with returns and shipping and all that. It seems to be a fun little machine to just run around and enjoy with the kids. So with that being said I’d prefer to just fix it myself if I could determine exactly what my problem is as I could probably buy the parts cheaper than I could pay shipping to return it. Anyway. Have you all had any issues like this with your alls scx24’s. Like I said. Forward and steering works great. Just super slow in reverse!! Any bit of knowledge would be a great help!! Also you got any spare parts laying around for them you would part with? As always. Thanks in advance for any info you provide as I trust your opinion and knowledge!!
@sarahbowen9686 Yikes...😕 Yeah...🤔 I'm not sure what's going on with your truck, My first thought is wondering if you're battery was fully charged, and then my second thought, is wondering if it's got something to do with the Transmitter's speed selector switch "which is a 3 position sliding switch" labeled L M H (low medium high) that limits how much power is going to the wheels, And it should be sitting in the H position for full power.😕 First thing I would do is check all your batteries, The next thing would be to check the 3 position speed selector switch on the transmitter. And if it's not either one of those things, then it's probably got something to do with the ESC (electronic speed control) which is a ESC and Receiver combination. If that's the situation, then you can simply order a new one and bind it up to your vehicles transmitter. (there should be instructions in your manual on binding the Transmitter to the Receiver) Lastly there's one more thing you can check "but I'm pretty sure it's not going to apply with the Scx24's transmitter" but some transmitter have a manual throttle position switch, that's located on the transmitter close to the trigger "If you're transmitter has one of those" then it might be sitting in the wrong position, "which would definitely limit the reverse function" by not letting the trigger move all the way back into the reverse position,🤔😕 But I'm pretty certain that your Transmitter doesn't have one "my transmitter doesn't have one" so unless they recently changed something, it stands to reason that your's doesn't have one either.😕 But 10 chances to one your problem probably has something to do with the ESC.😕 I'll put a link into this message for a new ESC 👇 www.avantlink.com/click.php?tool_type=cl&merchant_id=4b85b2b7-558e-4304-89fc-54958c8f47f0&website_id=0b07db92-510e-4523-bb4f-6caab546340a&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.amainhobbies.com%2Faxial-ae6-esc-rx-combo-axi31620%2Fp977314 One last thing that you can check... Is to look in the manual and see if you can reset the ESC, which would be resetting the forward and reverse movement on the transmitter, as well as full left, and full right on the transmitter. Someone from the factory might not have set it up right from the beginning.😕 And if that's the situation then you can simply reset it, vs having to purchase a new ESC.😊
@@R.C.A.D. thanks for the input! Not sure what’s up with it but I turned it on today and it worked fine in all directions. lol. I didn’t do anything on my end so it had appeared to have fixed itself for the moment. I did however break a rear shock though. That was my fault and stupidity though. Nothing to do with the truck itself so looks like I’m going to have to buy me a new set of shocks. Anyway you said you scx24 wasn’t currently running? Just sell it to me as a fixer upper lol. I think it would be a fun little project I’d like to take on.
@sarahbowen9686 Hey.... Glad to hear your gladiator is alright 😄 bummer about the shock though.😵 As for my Scx 24 jeep; I was working on it yesterday and it just needs a new motor "which is a pretty common problem with them" the stock motors are well known for not lasting very long. Fortunately though there's a ton of aftermarket upgrade motors for it online "and there all larger than the stock motor, which means that they have more power and low end torque vs the stock motor. The only problem is that it's not a direct swap,🤔 "it's definitely not a difficult swap" but it's not as cut & dry as a direct swap, because you need to purchase a new motor plate to adapt it to the scx 24's transmission "which isn't the end of the world or anything" it's just something to be aware of when you're shopping for a replacement motor.😕 There's also a few brushless conversations available as well, but those all require a brushless compatible transmission to go along with them "which are available and sold on the same Amain hobbies page as the brushless motors, some are even a complete combination of Motor, Transmission,& ESC, But you can expect to pay anywhere from $50.00 to $150.00+ for one of those setups. Most of the brushed motor replacements can be purchased for less than $30.00 including shipping and handling.😁 As far as my scx24 Jeep being for sale; not a chance! 😄 But I would be willing to trade it for your vintage Dodge Charger RT that you keep in the garage. 😄 Ha ha ha lol Side note; I'm currently in a partnership program with Amain hobbies and Avantlink, so if you ever need to purchase any parts for your scx24, or if you're looking to get a new RC, let me know and I'll send you a link to whatever you're looking at, and then I'll get a small sales commission from whatever you decide to purchase "with absolutely no extra cost to you" Amain hobbies would simply be giving me a small commission for bringing them a new customer, and it won't cost you anything extra, but it will go a long way towards helping my channel out.😊👍
Nice video 👍
Thanks Kevin 😁🤜🤛
Another good video. If I’m allowed to make suggestions. You should put some markers up like 11 inches apart and then drive through the markers this way both trucks follow exactly the same trail. And also, if one truck can make it through the markers and another truck cannot it would give me a better comparison.!!!😅 I enjoy watching that TRX 6 working through the rocks
Thanks Dan... 😊👍 Marker suggestion; Heck yeah... I've been wanting to do something like that for awhile "just need to get some stick's and twine, and start stringing it all out.😁 Probably won't see that for a few videos ☝️ since the next few videos were already previously recorded..😄 Thanks for great suggestions Dan and for taking the time to check out the show.😁👍🤜🤛
@@R.C.A.D. maybe some guy you know with 3-D printer might be already printing them😎
@danweiss1371 Ha... I was gonna say on my last comment that I was going to put you in charge of the course layout out on the rocks "when you get here towards the end of the month.😄
Definitely a Danchee course for sure👍
😄 if only I had one... But until then I'm gonna throw everything else that we have at it instead.😂 Thanks for the wise words brother....😊👍🤜🤛
