I like talking about job, my family, my cars etc. I also like discussing with my acquaintances plans for the future, vacation plans, housework. To be short, small talks are necessary sometimes especially if you ain't have much time enough for the long conversation. Thanks lots of, Vanessa for the captivating lesson!
Well, basically I like to speak about future plans or topics that I'm interested in, such as traveling, for instance, but I'll definitely ask a person about what he or she prefer to do in his or her free time cuz I think it is crucial to understand another person.
@@SpeakEnglishWithVanessa Yeah! I actually have the same opinion, Vanessa! Small talks make us feeling less tension 'n' responsibility as well, right? And certainly, they're always very useful for every person in real life.
I am a Tamilian from Tamilnadu in India. You explain the lessons excellently and so it is very easy to understand and follow them. Thank you my child! (I am 63)
Personally, I would start an interesting small talk by asking my conversation partner this: What keeps you busy outside of your work routine? Yeah I would ask that question even if I don't know the person that well. I'm not a very conversational person but I wouldn't like to be lacking in conversational skills because I think I was born to be a good-quality English speaker and I'd love to, even though I have anything in particular that kind of holds me back from forgetting shyness, fear or embarrassment when putting my English speaking skills into practice while I speak to myself, and it can be even worse when speaking in public which is a scarier scenario. I know I can overcome those kinds of problems over time and it requires a lot of practice, patience and consistency. Thank you so much as always for making me level up my English skills in general dear Vanessa. ❤🥰🌹
You are not only teaching us English but more like common sense for communication in general. I really appreciated that because I don’t have common sense in our community that’s what my wife told me. Poor man. LOL.
There is no doubt that you are a good teacher for all learners this topic is awesome I've no words to admiring you.. Lots of people want to learn English But you are a really god for those who need to learn English.. Today i can write here it's all happened by you I mean because of you I learnt how to write..
I am a Chinese living in China. Watching your videos every day is very helpful to me, but I still have to watch the subtitles to know what you are talking about.
4 tips by Awesome teacher Vanessa 1) Put your phone away 2) Be Curious about the another person 3)Don't interrogate with other person 4) avoid your personal favourite topic
Thanks for posting the summary. I would pay a lot of attention to "don't interrogate another person," because sometimes English learners want to ask many questions, but don't share first. Be careful! 🙂
Take it from an old Russian hockey player, the best answer to any small talk is: "why do you wanna know" )))))) Thank you Vanessa, you make this world a better place. A much better one.
Hi vanessa you are the best teacher ave eva met on youtube i started learning here last month and I can't go a day without listening to your videos thanks
Thank you Vanessa! Im a barista, I do small talk all the time with my customers, this lesson is giving me more confidence to talk to customers in the right way and more appropriate way. Well done! You are the best!
You know what makes you the BEST online teacher? Of course the first thing is the way you teach, but the other thing is You are having nearly 3M subscribers, and still sending many ❤️s, responding to many comments. Thanks a lot lovely teacher Vanessa.
in my area, there are some neighbors who walk with their doy passing by from my house, and some neighbors walkthrough by daily routine. when seeing them, I usually say hey, how are you? in a simple and polite way. now after this lesson, I think I can make small talk with them in differter scenarios. it always thanks Vannessa for making this great video.

The timbre of the voice is a really strong skill for everything. I think it is more important than the word you use in your questions. When I was in catering, I observed a lot of time the difference between coming in front of the customers with a smooth timbre and an impatient one. You can get your public more casual and relax straightly.
Well hey my favorite teacher I've been following you for over a year and I just wanna thank you for your amazing videos, you amaz us with your videos every Friday... they're so good and helpful.😉

Small talking is the most difficult part in English study. Of course, my personality might cause the problem. Anyway this video is really helpful for me! Thank you so much Vanessa.

Hi Vanessa. Needless to repeat that I like your videos. Considering my poor comprehension skills the main reason for my small talk is the only chance to improve these skills. And I am an ideal listener, not a talker. By the way, this video was interrupted by some commercials six times. It is the best proof that you are a very popular RUclipsr; all of you have been monitored. Sorry for my grammatical and other mistakes. And thank you.
