    Nope. I used to use the la Mer line and what I liked about the concentrate was the dimethicone. My friend kindly filled two containers in secret, one la Mer crème and one Nivea and didn’t tell me which was which. I used them for two weeks each and couldn’t tell the difference. I use the money unused to waste on luxury moisturizer on in clinic laser treatments, which do a lot more for me than overpriced la Mer ever did.

    I use the unscented seaweed body cream on my face at night and it soaks in really nicely. What it has done for me that none of my other treatments, serums, or moisturizers do is make my face firmer (as opposed to loose and flabby. I'm 65 and have recently lost a LOT of weight.) It also doesn't irritate my sensitive roacea-prone skin. Worth a try!

    I switched to a full routine of La Mer and my skin has never been better- they are definitely on to something. I tried Nivea cream and was not a fan of the scent and it didn't absorb as well in my opinion. There is something in La Mer Concentrate that is so soothing to my skin that I have been able to use it for awful windburns this winter and to calm the redness from retinol and Differin, which you can’t always anticipate. Other moisturizers are less expensive for sure but they do not seem to have any real effect the way the La Mer does for my skin. I think this is often a question of your own personal skin reaction. If something less expensive worked as well for me, I’d hop right on it.

    • @rb-ok6xw
      @rb-ok6xw 2 года назад +6

      @@Patriot1789 completely agreed! every product i've tried from them has been a hit. the eye concentrate has made me finally stick to an eye cream, the treatment lotion is so hydrating, even the renewal oil worked for my finnicky skin and I've never been able to successfully add in an oil to my routine. most people who hate on la mer haven't even tried it! yes its expensive but they sell different sizes and the products last forever since you don't need a lot at a time!! I will say though, ive flown through my jar of the soft cream and much prefer the original creme de la mer, its much richer and I use way less of it each time I apply!

    I got a serum that says marine collagen - whatever that means.
    It’s nice. It’s a humectant like glycerin or hyaluronic acid. No more no less. But I got it for the equivalence to six dollars/pounds so it’s a gem.
    I have products with algae/kelp in them and I know that it’s said to have certain properties that does good to the skin.
    I’m also a huge fan of mushrooms - shitake and snow mushrooms. But one of my favourite (snow mushroom) serums are getting harder and harder to get a hold on - maybe because of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine or maybe because of the rocketing gas prices. It was a serum with pretty much just snow mushroom in it (and the necessary help ingredients). I know that The Inkey List have a snow mushroom serum too but I haven’t tried it yet.
    Another ingredient that comes to mind is rice - may it be rice in itself, saké or galactomyces. I love rice in my skincare. And last but not least: cactus.

    So, no joke, I put it on my hand before sleep (out of despiration) and when I say that it was, for the first time, NOTICEABLY different the next day , it is not an exaggeration. I had seen my acupuncturist twice that week, the first time when I was still putting medical cream on the burn, and then the next day after putting La Mer on it. She was stunned at the difference.
    It was UNREAL. I will pay whatever La Mer is charging. Seriously. Never complain about the price again. I will try OSEA, but there will never be a day that I don't have some La Mer in my cabinet.

    Whats with everyone obsessing over Lamer prices??? Its not even that expensive, AmorePacific makes $720 cream and claims it will stop your aging all together for good. Does anyone will talk about it??? Or we will be obsessing over not that expensive Lamer? 😮

    I am not suggesting to go & buy La Mer, but OSEA moisturizer exfoliates, exfoliates, and exfoliates, which is not healthy for facial skin. It peels heavily under make up/foundation in particular. It is definitely not a great choice.

    I know this video is about algae and seaweed skincare but if you're vegan/vegetarian and need an alternative for a good Omega-3, Omega-6, DHA all that good stuff, algae based supplements are a good source for that because from what I've researched, algae is like the actual source of those things and fish eat them and it's stored in their fat. So yeah, if you're eating vegan, vegetarian or plant based diet this may be good option.
    I'm taking it as a supplement too and tbh, I love it!

      its due to the high iodine content-- im assuming in a highly processed extract it wouldnt be as comedogenic. but maybe less processed (like irish moss gel) is what is more of an acne trigger.

    • @Renee-zy6oy

      It’s actually a real ingredient! It’s called “Cystoseira Tamariscifolia”, and gets the rainbow name due to the thorns or branches on it shimmering from green to purple to blue. :) It comes from the waters in France. Hope this helps!

    Cassandra! What do you think about the new Urban Decay "Vitamin C Setting Spray"??
    I'm confused about so many things..
    1)can't vitamin c do damage to the skin without putting SPF over it?
    2)people were saying this has SPF in it, but it's not mentioned anywhere in the advertising, so that can't be true right?
    3)would there be any benefit of putting vitamin c on top of makeup(with or without spf)?
    4)is there even enough vitamin c in the product to benefit the skin?
    5)WHY?!

    • @20thcenturyrelic
      @20thcenturyrelic 2 года назад +1

      I don't know what Cassandra thinks, but I know what 'I" think. Setting sprays are unnecessary. And I very much doubt there's enough Vitamin C in a product like that to be beneficial. I went out to the website and tried to find the product, but I couldn't.
      If you want to add Vitamin C to your skincare routine, I think Cassandra made a video about Vitamin C products she recommends, and you might want to watch that.
