I'll be honest, Dead Rising is hands down my favorite game. I'm so glad to see a channel dedicated to it. Even with it's aged graphics, and three new released titles nothing compares to the original.

I remember back when I first got my 360 back in the day, I had Halo 3 and Dead Rising. I ended up staying up two days straight playing DR, simply just messing around in the mall. Such a great game, and it's always a treat going back to it. ^^

hi, im 14 as of writing this and i grew up with dead rising and frank west i have probably bought the game at least 5 different times and played it through fully and im glad to see someone out there is giving this wonderful series the respect it deserves so thank you and just so you know i agree with your opinions on dead rising 3 and 4 nothing can beat the original but dead rising 2 came respectfully close. so thank you so much and pls for every one that calls themselves a dead rising fanboy make more great vieos. #DR1 FanBoy's

Ah you mentioned saving the intro survivors, I actually remember getting a copy from the first batch that were released, I didn't buy it on launch but from an old warehouse cleanup sale in 2008, It still had the plastic wrapping around it and a sticker that said "Do not sell before august 8".
In that version of the game i was able to save the survivors from the start and i remember it well cause when i became very proficient at the game i was able to save nearly all of them, Bumping up the "saved survivors" tally which made the 50 survivor achievement easier.
With that said the copy i own now which is a platinum hits version purchased in 2014 does not allow the player to save the survivors from the start of the game which means that there are even more changes in versions after release, You might want to check on your own copies of the game.
It was 10 years ago, your brain is probably playing tricks on you. If saving those survivors was possible on any version, someone would post proof by now
Its not faulty memory, I remember that specifically because after the first couple of runs i spent about 20m repeating the intro to save those survivors, I could grab them using one of the melee moves to carry them to the stairs throwing them past the cutscene trigger and was able to hold hands with some of the female survivors like in the rest of the game which worked as well, But in the platinum hits version i have now they became immune to those moves and had no interaction prompts.
A lot of people bought the game at release, and nobody ever reported saving those survivors, it's only you who somehow got to play a different version. Unless you got your hands on an actual beta disc, similar to those stipo owns, I don't believe it. Human memory is much more faulty than you may think, and you played that version 10 years ago, it's easy for your brain to make up such small detail like the "saved survivors" number increasing

Once again its not faulty memory, I played over 1600 hours on that first copy, Just like the locations of all the pp stickers, The optimized timing to rescue all regular and hidden survivors in sync with the main story and even the order of survivors and psycho spawns in infinity mode, The capacity to rescue some of those intro survivors is burned into my brain.
As for the copy i had back then it stopped working cause by first 360 was modified to play pirate games since i didn't have much money as a kid, That fucked with the reading laser and the rpm's of the machine so that DR disc just got completely worn out, That console itself was also functioning poorly to the point of damaging my first xbox profile with 27k achievement points, And a couple months later the machine died.
I bought my current xbox in 2011 using original games and finally being able to play on xbox live, And in 2014 i had an itch to play the dead rising games once more, Started with 2 back then and bought a copy of the first one afterwards, That's the one i have right now from the Platinum Hits release, Got all 1k achievement points for both and when i got OTR i fell just short of that at around 920 since i needed a partner for the online sandbox achievements.

So what happens if you load a save psst the end point of the demo? Does it automatically just stop you? Is there a limit to how far you can go?
You'll actually just spawn falling into the void, since the Beta doesn't understand final saves (apart from the players level, etc)
STiP0 makes sense. Is there any way to stop that from happening? Like modify it to be able to understand a certain save and load in properly?
