It s so relaxing watching your videos! I wish I could have people like you around me, so We can do this together! Big like for making such a lovely experiences for your kids! 🤩 I can t wait to do this in the summer. I already planned a bikepacking trip from North of Portugal down the west coast, south coast of Portugal then heading through all the south of Spain and France. Portugal is so wow! 🤩
This was certainly the first trip this long. We did a week-long rail to trail trip in Idaho in the summer of 2020 - that's when we first thought that we might be able to take on a longer trip. The preparations really intensified in the 6 months leading up to it, but they were mostly route planning, travel logistics, visas, making arrangements for the kids' schoolwork, and prepping the bikes and gear. The physical cycling preparations were pretty minimal - we limited the daily planned distance to match what we were capable of at the time.
So cool. Funny hearing the kids with their music playing whilst riding 😁
Yeah, I'm hoping that's considered fair use :)

This is a great adventure! I can imagine this being a life long memory for everyone.
Definitely! The kids were at a perfect age where they could actually do it and that they will also remember it.
❤

Was this the first such trip you've done as a family? How did you prepare for it?
