Great video Aaron!!! I used to do my own jigs and got lazy I guess. Helps Paul with a sale. Lol but making your own is the most rewarding I can tell you that and thanks again for the great video!!!
Hey Aaron, enjoyed the video. You've got me wanting to try tieing my own hair jigs. I wish you would of showed how to tie that final knot a little more slowly and how to use that tool. But nice job. Maybe, I'll see ya Green Bay soon. I can't wait to get the boat out of storage.
Awesome video, I fished with Doug March 2023 on the fox since the Bay was still locked up with ice. The 3/8 tg jig and swimbait was the ticket that day! 🤘👌
Awesome video, thanks!! Just bought some hair jigs and made my own stingers, bought some new hair jigs that came with stingers. But, I have a hankerin' as an artist, making my own would be cool. Saved this video... Maybe we'll see ya on the water this year again...thx! 👍
For the last 4 years I've been using mainly 3/8oz. Clam does not make a 1/2oz. Version. But, I'm getting some jigs from a different manufacturer to try out that are 1/2oz., so I'll be trying those soon.
Do you put anything on the jig, like a minnow, or are you just using the hair jig with no additional bait? Have been curious how these are used for a while now

Paul appreciates you! But yeah, it's very rewarding to catch fish on something that you made. I love it.
Great video hair jigs are really the best way to catch early season walleye. Great tips on how you use them hope to see you out on the water.
Awesome video!! Thanks for the great info! Tight lines
What vise would you recommend to get,a lot of them out there,.

Sorry about that part. It can be a little tricky with that whip finish for sure.
You don't need the tool, search youtube on whip finish. You can do it by hand.
You will be missed. Condolences to your family.

Doug sure knows how to catch em! I've learned a lot from watching him.
That was very good, thank you, I'm going to try 😎
That's great! I hope you catch some big ones!

Thanks for the info!
Walleye Fishermen are the best hair jig fishermen! They call it painting the bottom!
You got that right!
Nice hair jigs
Looks great! I’m ready to tie some where do I get the buck tails and tensile? Thanks for showing me how to tie them! 👍🥸🙏
Thanks for info Aaron
You bet!
Great vid Aaron, my dad has bought a couple of hair jigs from your dad at North Shore. He’s had great luck with them.
What vise and bobbin do you use?
Tungsten also makes a different sound when it bumps rock.
Very true. That may make a difference as well!
Piscifun carbon x 2000 is a good reel
Curious what type of vise you are using?
Thanks for the great video! Do you prefer braid or mono when fishing in cold water with them?
I sure do. I normally use 10lb suffix 832.
What vise is that? Looks really nice
It's actually just a cheap vise from Amazon. I think it was 18$. Works great though.
@@Aaron_mik_fishing I like how easy it is to swivel around.
Yeah, it works great.
Awesome video! Do you prefer 3/8 or 1/2 oz. Jig?

Nope. I never put any live bait or plastics on the hair jigs.
Do you add a work and or minnow to your jig?
Nope. We always use hair jigs just as is, not live bait or plastics required!
Will that work on lake Erie in the western basin
Sure will.
Where is a good place to get bucktail from?
I get it from tight lines fly shop in de pere. Or the sportsman in Appleton.
@@Aaron_mik_fishing Thanks a lot. Im looking forward to giving it a try.
Are those the 1/4oz jugs?
No. We are using 3/8oz. Jigs. I forgot to mention that.
I swear I'm the only one who got a batch of Clam jigs with the shitty hooks.
I think the fishing industry is out to get you Tom!! You have the worst luck lol.
do you sell them?
Unfortunately I do not sell them.
What’s not to love about poopy olive
It's gonna be a fox river special I think. Those fish are used to 💩
