Yes, the USB carries audio from the RP1000 to the computer so you can monitor what you are changing. Inside X-Edit, there is a control panel for the USB volume as well.
@mattjf09 Unfortunately, the converter will convert presets between the RP500, RP1000, and GSP1101 and it will convert presets between the RP150, 250, 350 to the 155, 255, and 355. But it will not convert the 355 to a 500 due to incompatible EQ, Reverb, and delay types between the processors.
@haanbhai152 You can convert presets between the 155, 255 and 355 but they will not convert up to the RP500, RP1000 or GSP1101 due to EQ, Reverb and Delay types betwen the processors.
@rikkbeatty You can, however, edit the presets ina plain text editor and add in the missing eq values and change the headers and file-type extension to make it compatible with the higher models.
@haanbhai152 Nope thats not what I am saying. You can use X-Edit to edit all of your presets on your RP255. If you have DigiTech's preset converter though, it will not convert your presets from the RP255 to allow someone to use them on a RP500, RP1000, or GSP1101. The preset converter and X-Edit are two different pieces of software.
@Feileiks Yes the software is setup to where you can play while you are editing. Everything you edit, happens in real time so you can hear the change immediately. -Rikk
@ArtificialFlavaFTB2 You got it! You plug the RP155 via USB into your computer, then plug the 1/4" out into your amp. That way when you make a change on the software, you can hear it in real time through your amplifier. -Rikk
I dont get how the setup goes. I know I wil have my Digitech pedal plugged in through USB (Mine is Rp155) But what about my guitar / amp? Do i plug in to the pedal with my guitar and my amp at the same time? I dont understand
X-Edit software is only for creating and editing your presets in your RP/GSP unit. You will still need recording software to record into like Cubase or any other software that does not require proprietary hardware to record into.
@TheblankofDeath I did do the song in the background. It's called "New Jazz" and is off of my last album "Guitar Farm". The album featured DigiTech's RP500 and DigiTech's GSP1101 for ALL guitar sounds. If you have an RP500, RP1000, or GSP1101, I can email you my presets that were used if interested. -Rikk
@XxicruffesionalxX It keeps the factory preset in tact and just saves it overtop of the "User Preset" spot. From the factory, it comes with the same presets on both the user and factory settings. You can never overwrite the factory presets.
I have a question. i have an rp500 and i try downloading this and it downloads but when i open it it says its encountered a problem and needs to shut down, so do you know what i can do to fix this?
thanks for the video :) I just got an rp250 and I was wondering is there a way to record what I'm playing through X-edit. Or is X-edit just for tweaking effects?
@utubeslash Hmmm... You should be able to hear the audio through your computer if the USB cable is plugged in. I would first try the obvious and make sure audio from other things is running through your PC fine. If it is, try uninstalling and reinstalling the software. You may want to make sure the driver for the RP250 has been installed on your PC as well.
@xxxinsanexxx666 Sorry you are having a problem with it! I know my PC is pretty temperamental with new software sometimes. I would try to uninstall the X-Edit software and try downloading it again from the DigiTech site. You may have had a bad download or something. Also make sure you are downloading the X-Edit software specifically for the RP500. I know that the X-Edit I downloaded for my RP1000 wont work on my RP500 or RP355 so just make sure you select the RP500. Hope that helps!
I am not sure. I have not worked for DigiTech in about a year and a half. I would suggest calling the factory in Utah and ask to speak to customer service.
When i moved i lost my disc and recently had to restard my computer as my in law looked at a lot of porn on it. Can i re-buy the disc without buying anoyher pedal? Or is there somewhere to download it?
@XxicruffesionalxX Absolutely! I love Satriani. As an instrumental artist I am really into trying to make the melody on the guitar something that would replace the vocals instead of just random shredding for 5 minutes straight. Satriani does this SOOOO well and I have always deeply admired his playing and songwriting abilities. To even be associated with his name in the same sentence is an honor to me so thank you VERY much. I will send you a message on RUclips about the tones.
Rikk, I can not save Tone Library parameters to Amp B of a preset with X-edit or manual editing (rp355). Saving Tone Library Parameters To Amp A is no problem. I have a video on my channel (guitarrexok) explaining and demonstrating this issue. Is it possible to apply (& save) Tone Library parameters to Amp B of a preset? Thank you.
anyone help... i have connected my digitech to my pc and i downloaded all the sotware from the digitech website but how do you get your pc to be your monitor for your rp 255...so far ive only been able to use headphones when my rp255 has been plugged into my pc.. any help would be great
Hey guys, I haven't worked for DigiTech now for almost 3 years or so. I haven't used this software since I last worked for them so I am afraid aside from what I have on the video I don't really have much info to give to you.
I am sorry. I just realized the RP155 does NOT come with Cubase LE software for recording. That software comes with the RP255, 355, 500, and 1000 but not with the 155, 90, 70, or 55.
@ROKROVER ...... Man you got me on that one! It would be best to contact the support team at DigiTech in Sandy, UT. Go to digitech.com and click the support tab to either send them an email or get their number to call. I know they will be able to help you out. -Rikk
No this will allow you to program your RP150 VERY easily with your computer. All you need to record is the included Cubase software or any other software you may have that will recognize the RP unit as a recording interface.
i have digtech rp 250 got at pawn shop for 60. bucks man i t was a good buy i got sick of microsoft 2 moptnhs ago cuse the win/8 so i went to ubuntu 12.04 guess what it true plug and play also on linux
I do not know if they are still available on DigiTech's website under the RP1000 page or not. If not, I can email them to you. RUclips wont allow me to put my email address in this comment for some reason so please shoot me a message through RUclips with your email address and I will send the file to you.
(using all caps so hopefully everyone will see it) HEY FOLKS, I AM NO LONGER EMPLOYED BY DIGITECH SO FOR ANY TECHNICAL QUESTIONS PLEASE CONTACT THE CUSTOMER SUPPORT VIA THE TOLL FREE NUMBER ON THEIR WEBSITE. I DONT CHECK COMMENTS ON THESE VIDEOS OFTEN ANYMORE AND I DONT WANT TO LEAVE YOU HANGING. -RIKK

I suppose if you plugged in a mic using a 1/4" cable into the RP500 (same with a keyboard) you could then record into Cubase. So...... sure! Why not?!?! :-)
@Eduardot12345556 There is a preset converter (sort of a Beta software) that will convert presets. I can send it to you if you like. Just send me a message with your email address
Almost two years after X-Edit died for MAC users it is still not working and customer care or tech support does not care. I got blocked out from Digitechs Facebook page just for pushing them to much about it.. Fat and lazy I would say. Check out this.. forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1442926&highlight=x-edit

Regarding the RP1000. Can you link multiple parameter changes to a single footswitch? (like in the old GNX series control switches)

I wish they would have a firm ware up date fr my rp 255 I would love to have the 5150 amp model or the Mark IV
@XxicruffesionalxX Thank you! For the tone on New Jazz, are you referring to the clean tone part or the distortion?
I have a question.
i have an rp500 and i try downloading this and it downloads but when i open it it says its encountered a problem and needs to shut down, so do you know what i can do to fix this?
Is there a version of x-edit that will work on OSX 10.8?

You mean the software on the sight?

@SodaPopDumb Just something I heard Satriani do a long time ago on a video where he was messing around on an acoustic.
