- AutoGate is an automatic entry/exit gate that allows customers with disabilities, or who travel with strollers, bicycles, luggage, or other large items, to independently enter and exit the subway system.
Genius! Now everyone can use the Auto gate for wheelchairs, bikes, and strollers. 👍😀

Finally it’s not just for people with disabilities. Always hated having to go through the turnstiles and then open the door for my bike When the stupid thing could’ve just let me put my MetroCard in there instead. Has been just for people with disabilities.
Another fine video. It seems autogate no longer is limited to reduced fare cards.
That's one of the unfortunate things about it as well. Somehow it's only a full 2.75.

But even if the attendant is in the booth, the customer can still pay @ the turnstile, proceed through, & swing open the door to get their belongings right? You don't need to inform the agent!

I would just fare evade. The MTA has proven time and time again that they don't deserve anyone's hard earned money.
