  • SiFly was created by Alexander Bachev, a professional athlete in the Olympic sailing division Formula Kite. Formula Kite is one of the most exciting watersport classes, where kitesurfers reach mind-boggling speeds by harnessing the power of the wind and riding state-of-the-art hydrofoils. However, due to the extreme difficulty of the racecraft and the expensive equipment, hydrofoil racing is reserved for only an elite group of surfers.
One evening, after an adrenaline-packed day of racing in front of many spectators, Alex asked himself: ‘Can a hydrofoil exist that will deliver the freedom, speed, and thrill of the kitefoil, but will also be user-friendly and accessible to any person, even non-surfers?’ To answer his own question, Alex founded SiFly.
With his degree in Physics from the Technical University of Munich and his mastery of the hydrofoil, he created the company’s first eFoil prototypes. Along the way Alex gathered a team of young, talented, and motivated engineers and product designers.
One of the team is another Bulgarian designer - Atanas Yanev, who graduated in industrial design from the National Academy of Art in Sofia. He was working on the design and construction of electric surfs with underwater wings - the SiFly’s e-Foil project. The designer focuses in a particularly beautiful way on the entire philosophy behind the design of consumer electronics - sparing, minimalist and perfectly responding to human expectations, abilities, gestures, mood and emotions, part of a new type of romanticism.
After two years of intense R&D and countless hours of testing, SiFly now offers a wide range of electric hydrofoils for all levels of experience and preferences. The company is rapidly growing into an international brand with central hubs in Europe and the Middle East, with partners and users all around the globe.
