Hello sir, i watched it till the end and I loved it. You have a great knack of explaining things along the way and your soothing voice made me feel like i was hitchhiking with you from Virginia to Texas.😊

When you looked north over the Mississippi River there was a boat on the right bank. I’m on that boat in the video. We push chemical barges and we’re waiting to go on dock. We discharge tomorrow.

I stumbled across your channel today and decided to watch it. I have a 2022 MYP in blue and live in DFW. I just finished up a road trip to LA. Like you, I have done minor modification to my MYP. You mentioned about using Waze for information while traveling. I do, too. What really made it better to use it with is by adding a second screen.then I have CarPlay along with Waze running at the same time. I also bought the app On the Way. That way I was able to use the radar live while driving. I left LA during the tropical storm and sped up or slow down to avoid major rain storm cells. I highly suggest adding the second screen to allow additional info at the same time, plus it puts a lot of info in front of you instead of beside you. Enjoyed your drive.

Awesome video! Watched until the end. Out of curiosity, what takes you across such long distances so often? I am lucky to be able to drive my M3 between Atlanta and Miami to visit family but your distances leave mine in the dust!😂

I am pondering getting a Tesla.
I have heard that 70 m.p.h. is the sweet spot for the Model 3 and I noticed that you cruised quite a bit faster than that on segments of the drive.
In the months since you made this video, have you had a chance to do an efficiency comparison between trips that were consistently at 70 m.p.h. and similar trips that were consistently at 80?
I am curious about how many extra electrons used for that 10 m.p.h. difference.
Of course, if you consistently cruise at 80, you probably haven't been concerned about it. 😉

Great question and thoughts - it’s way more efficient slower you go. It’s about finding balance. I go the speed I need or want and jump from charger to charger. It’s roughly 6-8% worse at 10mph faster than 60. I’ve found this doesn’t matter to me and I would rather just get
To the next charger quickly. Getting there with a low battery makes it charge faster. Hope this helps.

      @@ByTesla237 It does, thank you.
I will have to find where my balance point is if/when I get a Tesla. Where I routinely drive, there aren't many opportunities to go 70+ legally.
Have a Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year.

@@pauld6967 Yeah - it's all good then. Only in the southwest do I experience 80+ roadways. Otherwise I'm usually 70-75 or below and consumption is very good.

Excellent video. I have a few questions. We just completed our first long distance trip of 1,190 miles from north of Philadelphia to Venice Beach Florida. I was a bit disappointed in the charging time on both the first day of the trip to Florence SC and then the second day to Venice. Left day 1 with 100% battery and made 3 stops at Tesla SC and 3 on the second day. The charge times were a lot longer that I anticipated.
      My questions are:
Why did you choose to stop at EA Charger vs. Tesla SC?
How did you put the Trip Card onto the lower left of your screen?
How did you include EA Chargers into your Navigation?
Our charger stops took longer than anticipated, I figured 20-30 minutes each. All took longer. A couple of times it said “You have enough charge to Continue”, but I continued to charge. Found out later I should have just continued.
Thank you in advance for your response.

@@joehopper2274 Here's my feedback -- I chose an EA charger because it made more sense on my route. I can usually save over an hour per day by only charging for 15 or so minutes per stop and just jumping to the next charger. I can plan better than it can. Try to get to chargers between 10-20% and only charge to 60-70%.
EA chargers aren't in the navigation - but I use ABRP (A better Route Planer) or Chargeway apps to find other chargers.
to charge at a non-tesla charger you need to have a CCS-1 Combo adapter (sold by Tesla)
The trip card can be seen by clicking the small black music icon on the bottom left of the screen (along the bottom dock) - it will make the trip card appear.
The more you road trip - the better you will be - as more superchargers open up - it gets better - but you can plan better than tesla navigation using some of my tips.

Yup, exactly... 350KW is only possible if car can do like 700-800V, Teslas are lower 300-400V.
