The fact that it's easier for HasTak to seek and destroy the KO producers than making these little improvements themselves says A LOT.
Not advocating the mold theft, but these premium KOs wouldn't exist if original product was collector's grade instead of abosulute shit grade.
Don't forget hyper overpriced.
Easier for them? No.
Profitable for them? Yes.
HasTak shuts down KO company: HasTak loses less profit while not having to change a thing.
HasTak lets KO company go and makes higher quality figures: HasTak loses money making higher quality figures and runs the risk of there still being KO's even though the market would be smaller and they lose *more* money.
P.S. I'm not picking a side, just facts

I just don't understand why Hasbro can't do the paint apps like this? They charge so much for masterpiece and yet.. Sigh.. Just a bit more of effort thats all..so lazy.... A joke to takara masterpiece.

to be honest i think all the charge are from the engineering idea of mpm starscream, while ko just stole it and give it a better paint apps.

You’re right; Starscream transforms into a Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor.
We've been calling this style of Starscream "dorito" for nearly 14 years yet we never got a cheesey orange one.
Starscream's Dorito body is to ensure that he scales moderately well with the rest of the cast. If his body were more humanoid, he'd be even taller than Megatron (due to mass shifting not existing in the bayverse)
Still a pretty stupid design, a better solution would have been to use a smaller jet
Yes we all heard bay's mass shifting arguements. Bumblebee movie proved him short sighted.
Read this comment out, Megatron wasn't even an earth vehicle in the first and second Transformers movie so Megatron could still be bigger than Starscream. But, not everyone is fond on using their brains these days. Also, why are people so fond of mass shifting?

Doritoscream is a Lockheed Martin F-22A Raptor. I do like the paint scheme over the toy like MPM-10 official colours, and I am likely to be getting this one, so I can kinda retire my TF Dream factory GOD-08S to display only
Wow, that is really a major upgrade with the paint. I had cancelled my pre order for the official due to its lack of paint. I think I will have to pick this one up.

Very smart choice because i found that the original hasbro version is way more expensive than the mpm 10 earthquake one.
He's going to look good with Zeta Movie Blitzwing and Cyber Factory Star Storm.
Kinda puts the lacklustre "Masterpiece" in perspective.
At least the official one's ankles don't break easily.

Benny Bruschinsky Yes. If you transform the robot into alt mode, there's a high chance the ankles will break.

They did everythinh right except for the plastic quality
Lt02 and Ls03 primes has the same problems, on the feet they break easily
@@renzoalagon I have LT02, LT02W and LS-03F, have transformed each several times and not had any issues at all.
The issue with the first version of this figure is that the maker 'upgraded' a couple of parts to die-cast metal, without knowing that plastic was needed there due to a tiny amount of compression was needed. As the metal couldn't compress at all, plus die-cast metal isn't as strong as people think it is, it snapped sometimes. I say sometimes because only one of mine broke.
I looked on the TFW2005 forum and found a simple fix, by shaving off a small amount of metal, applied it to the unbroken and replacement parts and not had an issue since.
A good thing with the KOs is that you can *get* replacement parts. Takara Tomy only provide that service to the Japanese, so your masterpiece Hound, Prime version 3 or Bumblebee version 2 are going to statues, unable to be transformed, if you can't fix them *when* they break.
Looks incredible and the changes are nice, but the crucial one is still missing: no bicep swivels

The paint scheme looks a lot like the first version of movie masterpiece Starscream, MPM-01.
F-12 would work better for jetfire.
apparently the F-12 was a fighter variant of the SR-71 blackbird that they never put into service.
That's not even close to being true. A fighter warplane and the duties of the Blackbird aren't comparable.
YF-12A prototypes were produced, with a missile bay under the long forward fuselage, and a long folding ventral fin under the rear fuselage. The nose had a peculiarly different shape compared to the SR-71, as well.

The YF-12 did exist as an interceptor, the missiles it would have carried evolved over time into the main long range armament of the F-14 Tomcat, the AIM-54 Phoenix
Originally, it was A-12 (single-seater), then YF-12, then SR-71.
I misread the title as "MP-10," and I was like "Are they *still* doing MP-10?"
Picked this up, and it is gorgeous. The paint is amazing, and the joints are really strong, allowing for the poses you would like, taking in mind the limited articulation in the original design's shoulders. I picked up the official Ratchet, and that is the last official MPM I will pay for. The green unpainted plastic that makes up most of the figure makes it looks like a cheap knock-off, whereas the KO, as with this one, is amazing. It looks like an actual Masterpiece. Thanks-you Ben. You helped move me towards the MPM KO's, and my shelf is so much better for it.
Definitely the Black mamba model from Starscream is and will continue to be the best so far. A simple transformation is preferable to a very complex and stressful one like this one with very small parts and with a high possibility of fractures. And the most incredible also Starscream Ls-04 and Ls-04 s is superior in its F-22 mode.

@@Draconicus702 look at actual F-22 in reality and in the movie itself. You don't see those uneven boxy bottom on the fuselage. Takara Tomy G1 Starscream is good transformation that it looks exactly like the F-15F that didn't enter service. This starscream doesn't look like F-22 except the top.
@@jayjay53313 well you're comparing a simpler G1 design to the complex design of a Bayverse character.
It is literally impossible to get have screen accurate Starscream to transform into a kibble free F-22.
Besides, I don't know what G1 Starscream figure your referring to?
But both the Masterpiece G1 Starscream figures have kibble, or just obvious sacrifices in their jet modes. Made for the sake of Transformation, in one way or another.
Not as much as this figure, but kibble is kibble.
@@Draconicus702 the G1 masterpiece mp6/7, the bottom isn't perfect but it is still within the F-15 fuselage frame. The movie starscream and few more fight jets decepticon can't transform into proper jet mode due to unrealistic Illogical bayformers design. Rather than design the jet first then the robot, MB told designers to design the robot first then struggled to fit the jet mode. Blitzwing doesn't have this problem

Maybe it's just me, but that's a stupid argument.
As far as I'm concerned bayformers is 10× more realistic than G1, people say the bayformers look like heaps of scrap metal and I'm like... yeah? It's a living borderline organic robot that can change form into a FIGHTER JET! (or some other vehicle) I'd expect it to have sharp pointy bits all over instead of being a box with arms and legs like the G1 formers are (that shape may work for an F-15 but try that with virtually any other fighter jet in history and see what happens)
Starscreams form *is* realistic for a semi-organic robot that can change form to a fighter jet... that doesn't mean it's feasible to do it with the comparatively limited engineering of a plastic toy that relies on hinges and tabs

Still find the stark, shiny head odd though with the matte body.
You've gotta understand that all these names and decals are skewed on purpose for legal reasons. They obviously know what jet it is.
Are colors on this KO version more movie accurate than the original MPM10?
The colours and insignia on the KO look to be more USAF official accurate to a real F-22 Raptor, the colours and insignia on the official MPM-10 are "Toylike"
I just got my copy of this KO. Having handled the original and this KO, I feel the KO has a lot of quality issues.
Yes, the paint is better, but my copy had two left hips and a lot of flash from where the plastic was cut. Most tabs required filing because they wouldn’t go into their slots and the thing wouldn’t transform to alt mode. I took me 6 hours to fix all of this.
Finally, the upper fuselage on the KO is wrong: The real F-22 has asymmetrical panels on the sides of the fuselage near the wings because it has a Gatling gun on the right side only and an Auxiliary Power Unit (APU) on the left side. So the “bumps” and divots and hexagons are different on each side.
Both the old leader class Starscream AND the original MPM-10 have the correct asymmetrical panel detail, but the KO is symmetrical and the panel lines are made up.
Finally, although the paint job and plastic colors on the KO are a better match to the correct camo of the screen appearance (Hasbro’s original MPM-10 has the colors almost inverted), several details are STILL painted wrong.
Still gotta give the OS SS the win for vehicle mode for better undercarriage.
Screamer is an F22. They probably couldn't use the name for copywrite reasons

Because it takes so much work for hasbro takara to give us a figure like this I say since in my country an mp comes out very expensive

Be very careful with the ankles when going into alt mode. At 13:06 one of the die-cast ankles crumbled on my copy. One tabbed in fine, I did the same with the other and it snapped with little force.

I got a replacement part from the seller. When it arrived I shaved a bit of metal off, as described on the TFW2005 thread for this figure. I went from looking at the figure with mild anger to loving it again. I'm even thinking of buying the tattoo variant that's just been released.

I'm always very careful whenever I have to bend plastic, if there isn't enough clearance. Or course any figure that uses clear plastic in a joint is just asking for trouble.
I saw a pre-order for the oversized version recently. It was either on Show.Zstore or TF Safari.
Now all we need is a bootleg version with the cybteronian tattoos...

The paint scheme is totally wrong. He wasn’t that dark in the original 2007 movie. The original looks more screen accurate then this. The BMB is more accurate then this in terms of paint. This is an easy pass for me. Hopefully BMB or AOYI Mech will release their versions me hopefully have the screen accurate paint scheme
...that transformation is still way too much work that looks more annoying than MP44, MP36, & MP47 combined. Bloody hell, I can only imagine how much of a massive nightmare a MPM Blackout would be...especially since the Studio Series one was a pain in the nuts. I think that I'll stick to the OSKO of SS06 Starscream.
As for the ankle breakage issue...wtf??? That sounds an awful lot like the Legendary Toys LT02. I wonder if those folks (under a new name, perhaps) did this behemoth? 🤔🤔🤔
Ben. I understand that you didn't receive instructions for this figure. Can't you just watch another review of the official MPM-10?
The arms going into alt mode are a pain. I'm sorry to say I had to go to EmGo's JTI as sometimes the relevant moving part was sometimes off camera or obscured. Would the camera being mounted over your shoulder be a help? Then you would not have to bend forward and reach around your camera. Plus, we'd almost have a Ben's eye view. Just an idea.
That’s a lot of work for that transformation. Pretty good figure though
Dont think there's any way around it, if you want so many details and "realism" it will necessarily be a pain to transform, as it's also correct, or "realistic", from an engineering perspective.

This might go well with Wasp Warrior & other oversized toys, (compared to the regular Mpm-10 size), will be hard to resist getting him...
Edit: I did, although I could only find the tattoo version. I love this matte paint military look, though.

How does this compare to the Earthquake Sky Star Wings T-10? Anybody know?
T-10 is larger (35cm in bot mode to the F-12’s 28, if I’m remembering correctly). Other than that I’m not aware of any differences, although I’ve heard Ben say, in his T-10 review that he thought the F-12 was a bit more streamlined. But he didn’t elaborate, so not sure what he meant

Except for barricade and optimus, all mpm figure is better on ko's (unless u manage to laid on wei jiang optimus, that was the best optimus)

Am I the only one who thinks the head is too bright?
Yeah, the head is too silverish compared to the rest of the body. That's my only nitpick aside from the camo paint on the alt mode seems a bit too dark but not sure if that's accurate for the actual jet.
