Hey Ben, you can rotate those thing connected in his emergency lights down in his back. It looks cleaner that way. That wasnt possible in the original figure. Just a heads up.

I purchased the KO Starscream, and much like this release, it makes the official look like a prototype with its lack of paint. I am done purchasing the official MPM releases, until they start painting their figures. I am tired of paying more for less. Thank-you for the review Ben. That Ratchet looks amazing. I am going to order it directly from this review.
What you said. Exactly. I don't care if it costs them slightly more. The Official companies should know their customer base. Besides, at the scales they produce these, a bit of extra paint won't cost that much more.
The running joke in my house is that whenever I get a new Transformer, I put the "KO" version next to the Official. Then I ask my family to guess; Which is the Official, Licenced version - the one supposed to look most like the TV one, and which is the one that looks like I bought in a back alley in a plastic bag.
I'm really tired of the Official Companies giving us substandard products. They have enormous marketing budgets, they have Analytics Teams and Data Science teams - they should be able to build models to tell them who their audience is, what our budgets are and what kind of thing we collect.

Yeah I don't get why they release a 200$-400$ figure but can't afford to paint it properly. It's not even about money, the customer already willing to pay 400$, abit more painting money is not a big deal. They just being cheap and lazy tbh.

If you take off the paneling on the legs, he looks even more screen accurate.
@ThisIDIsTheLongestID Screw behind the blue shocks on his legs. Unscrew those, then you can easily pull the panels off
@6:42 - EXACTLY MY POINT!! EXACTLY!! They surely know their target market. They did all of the development and design. Why not add just a little to the paint etc.
The official bots are always of such APALLING paint quality etc that they look like the back street KO versions. Why couldn't Takara just do that 2% extra and make it beautiful!?

Why can't you understand that official companies spend so much money just by making their products and releasing it different stores in different locations? KO companies don't do that! they only need to copy the official product, put lots of paint in it and sell it on online stores. In other words KO companies doesn't have to spent so much money more making their products. There's no problem on buying KO products but praising it while talkshitting on the official ones? That's just plain stupid.
@@lesterantenor1026 what is stupid, is spending so much money "just by making their products" and then not bothering with paint. Or detail. Or understanding that there are ADULT collectors. There's clearly a market for it.

Got mine today - amazing figure. Only issue is one side of the light bar is assembled wrong with the same hinge piece as on both sides. So this means when rotated, the light bars don’t meet up in the middle. Doh!
Hey Ben great review as usual, do you think there will be an OS release or not? I’m on the fence about purchasing this just because all of my figures are OS and I’d prefer the closest scale possible.

I love my KO Ratchet... My only complaints are the windows... as they are made of brittle plastic they are easily damage so I pay extra attention to those parts

This figure is a cheaper plastic all third party figures use a cheaper plastic but the paint is way better. I think that if you drop it something will break for sure so just be careful

This figure, even more then the Starscream, makes the official look like a really cheap KO. I love the paint on this figure. It really makes it pop.

Hi Ben, I wonder if this is supposed to come with one or two missile pods? Mine came only with one, but I noticed that you have one only too. But the original came with two. Seems like a small thing to skimp on, and wondered if mine happened to have one missing
Mine came with two but the second was randomly loose in the packing. There was no place for it in the ‘plastic prison.’

I feel like the scale of those 5 autobots is perfect expect ironhide might be a bit too tall and bulky.
Yep you’re right. Ironhide is supposed to kinda be at Optimus elbow articulations but here he is at the shoulder.
@@shadoruto6679 he’s actually suppose to be right around Optimus primes door panel, so your definitely right for the most part. Hopefully black apple ironhide does better with scaling. I think he’s suppose to be a bit smaller and scale with black apple Optimus.
@@shadoruto6679 iron hide and ratchet are about the same height so the official ironhide is more accurate in size. Sucks that he has the issue where he chest panels dont tab in
The paint is the best upgrade for a high quality Ratchet.
Man I hope somebody oversizes this guy. I have all the other movie characters oversized now just missing him.

@@datboiiisgonnagetyou3014 I just want my MPM Autobots to scale in vehicle mode. I have LT2 and BA MPM Prime. The BA one seems to scale pretty well with the Autobot cars and MPM Ironhide, and it looks like they'll go well with this Ratchet...
@@hthrun why not buy model cars then instead of paying high money for transformers if you care more about the vehicle modes

Mpm prime scale is to small in my opinion. The oversized B M or Weijiang is what i use. A semi truck and an ambulance should not be the same size or close to it

Ironhide is bigger than Ratchet, so that scale is accurate.
Still its too big. Ratchet looks like he is in par with bee, while he should be in par with ironhide

People need to stop praising KOs while talkshitting on official products like there's no problem on buying KOs if you don't want to spend so much money on toys but saying that the official product is lame? Is just plain stupidity. I know that Hasbro or Takara's toys has some quality issues but let's not forget that KO companies are just stealing products from them while also making lots of money on this stolen products. I mean, no shit Wei jang got shut down because of this.
It is a very good looking figure but part of me prefers the more bulky look of the Voyager Class Bayformer Ratchet. It may just be the video, but this one looks thinner.
