Brian, I think you overemphasize Magic's role in your streaming popularity. No question it got your foot in the door in more ways than one (recognition, game design, etc), but I definitely think your personality is the reason for your sustained success as a streamer. There are a lot of skilled, knowledgeable streamers who are simply unpleasant to watch. The most consistent comment I see about you is that even though you play competitively, you don't let the bad luck "rage" moments get you down. I think a lot of people (myself included) get some vicarious pleasure (or therapy) from this - you're a role model to all of us ragers. There are other reasons, too, but that's the big one IMO.

For future content, I will say that most RUclipsr/streamers hold viewers either by being good at the games they play, or entertaining to listen to. To me you are one of the few that tick both boxes which gives a lot of wiggle room for decisions. I don't know if you watch much or any of other RUclipsrs, but I wonder if you'd be at all interested in doing a series like Northernlion's Binding of Isaac series. It is just him playing a game that he knows inside and out, with the commentary generally having nothing to do with the game and just revolving around anecdotes and thoughts off the top of the head. It's not really ground breaking in terms of exciting new content, but could make for a nice change of pace from the stream highlights that with some exception consist of you speaking through what the best in-game decision is from moment to moment.

Hi Brian, long time fan. This was a fun video and I hope there will be more like these. I really enjoy your discussions on games and game design, from back when they were written for your website, to being the occasional video on here, and then on the Omni channel when that was a thing. I would love to see those kinds of things return for sure. My question is, have you considered doing more content with other people? I know I loved the way you, Frodan and Firebat all interacted on Omnistone/Untitled Stone when you've done those. I think seeing you play games co-op or even against a player you're talking with could be a lot of fun videos. Thanks for always being such a positive and thoughtful voice.

Great Q and A Brian. Hre are some more questions:-
    1. If you WERE to take the lead in designing a new ‘card game’ (ie paper or online tag, deck builder etc), what would you want to do and why?
    2. Have ever played any famous board games like Gloomhaven or Pandemic, or are you mainly a Card game player?
    3. What does your family think of your ‘career’!!??
    4. What Fantasy and Sci-Fi Novels are your favourite and would you recommend?
    5. Should Hearthstone have sideboards for competitive play? Is conquest really the best way for competitive Hearthstone to run itself?

Love your thoughts on card games made for pro card game players. Randomness helps balance out the fact that someone will, after enough time with the game, know what deck youre running, know what cards youre about to play, know what combo youre trying to go for and then shut it all down. I like how any player, whether theyre a dumb dumb or not, can play a RNG card and just have no idea what theyre gonna get, then make a play that their superior minded opponent cant just immediately shut down, and that makes the game feel way less oppressive to players such as myself.

Videos where you show a problem within Hearthstone, then you talk about how it got to be a problem, what cards/actions can we currently do, and design card concepts on how you would fix them. It'll give newer players insight on the more complex concepts in the game and I personally love watching people brainstorm.

My question is the following: do you think that being good at card games can be achieved by anyone? I mean (this is my personal experience but the question is general), when I watch your stream or the videos in YT I often realize that there are choices I would never see, while you not only see them, but also take them and they actually win you the game. I don't think, I'm that bad at card games and also I know that I have to learn a lot to be even considered good, but do you think that will it ever be the possibility to be as good as you are (and other pro players are)?

What's the best tournament match you've casted and/or seen? I recently rewatched the Hunterace-Viper final & the Pavel-Amnesiac quarterfinal & they're both just nuts, with super high gameplay matched with equally high RNG. I'd remembered the H-V game 5, where Viper relied on Rafaam for random legendaries to pull out the win, & kind of low-rolled, but game 1 was equally nutty, with Hunterace surviving on 1 hp while Viper tapped for Soulfire. Pavel is remembered for Book into Polymorph, but Book into Firelands Portal just after to remove Emperor Thaurissan was equally absurd. But in game 1, Amnesiac took a 1 in 3 Rag shot ftw, with Pavel holding lethal in hand.

So my favorite TCG of all time was the WoW TCG because I felt like you and the team working on it "fixed the land problem". The WoW TCG was still sufficiently random but it was not random to the point I didn't get to play a game, it just meant I needed to choose what resources I turned into lands instead of putting quests into my resource row. Ultimately I agree with you that lands are a feature not a bug but I think the none games introduced by it are out weighed when looking at a system like WoW TCG where I still get to play a game I just wasn't playing as efficiently as another player making quest drops.

Not a question, but an idea:
With your industry experience and the perspective it brings, I would love to see longform videos where you workshop a game concept. Someone (a follower, content creator, yourself) provides a log line or elevator pitch, and you (maybe with another creator like Day[9]) speak it into a fun, mechanically sound rules system.
You could focus on one project through multiple videos or (to keep it lighthearted and agile) work it more like Deck Doctor; you could even start with existing, notorious rulesets and tinker with their mechanics if starting from scratch is too daunting.

Actual question: Have you ever thought of/are going to do games with viewers? Like League, Magic (don't know if you do commander, but I don't really think you do), or other games

What do you think ended the wow tcg, why did people not get on board with it?I particularly enjoyed the artwork, and the borders of the card like the extra details etc.

#AskKibler I agree with randomness being good for games but curious if you think MTG could survive if they ditched the (outdated IMO) mana system, changed the card back and went to MTG 2.0. I have tens of thousands of cards but would love to see the new design space open up. Regarding mana in particular, I want card draws to feel exciting while land draws at best seem to only lessen hopelessness.

As a fan of WoW and the WoW TCG when it was around I would love to hear any stories you have of that game's development and what you learnt for future designing or gaming.

I just rewatched Pro Tour Dark Ascension's Finals and Semi-Finals, what was going through your head moments before Paulo extended the hand, or when you launched the 3rd Galvanic Blast at Jon Finkel? How did it feel to win these high-stakes games and ultimately the tournament?

I'm curious about your thoughts on how HS game design has evolved. The new expansion in particular seems to embrace a bunch of creative new mechanics, & builds on recent trends that empower swing turns. But I feel like there's a bit of a trade-off with other game skills like hand-reading & playing around specific responses. The game feels more interesting in some ways & has more potential for spectacular moments, & elevates deck-building strategy, but perhaps through minimizing some game skills & tactical decisions.

hey kibler , what's your general opinion about card nerfs in a way they land outside the meta & don't find a way into any played decks , do you think buffs we recieved this expansion were good enough & what would you change to make the meta less stale?

Also, another thing I want to explore about yourself is: you have a degree in phylosophy, if I'm not wrong. Can we expect a book from you? Even a biography? Because you're a very smart individual, someone that's capable of doing such thing, and I wonder if we can expect writings because I think they would be interesting. Thanks!

Cool video Brian, so nice to learn new things about your career and life in general (especially the burrito part...)
One question : If you could make changes to improve Battlegrounds, what would they be ?
Unrelated, don’t you think Malygos should get HoFed ?

Do your preferences for control, aggro, etc. in deck construction differ between Hearthstone and Magic, or other card games? What kind of deck construction options would you like to see from a new entrant into the market, or a new release by an established game?

Any thoughts on some upcoming TCGs like Flesh and Blood? It seems interesting and isn't falling into the trap of "Lets remake magic but with a minor difference" that many games seem to fall into

What I would like to see on your chanel are some MtG vids.
You don't have to do a lot of them, but it would be cool for example to have SOME MtG content, maybe even trying to qualify for some copmetition.
You could keep Hearthstone for Casual play, and MtG for competitive play?
    Just an idea.

Hey, Eggolas here from.. you know, the video. Thank you for your answer. And I totally agree in regards to having to embrace the randomness and to having games be welcoming to a wide audience.
Anybody that strictly complains about randomness in card games really isnt paying attention, because the act of drawing a card, as simple as it is, is considered random. You know?
I really appreciate the time you gave to answering my question. Thank you for the content, and rest assured no matter what games this budding young game designer may make in the future, whether card based or not, I send you copies because your insight to how games work is just so fascinating to me.
And Kibler because I get the feeling you may see this comment I'll just drop the casual uhhhh.... will you be on my podcast?
Once again, thanks for the answer.

Hey man, I haven't finish the video yet... Cuz work... I'll have to fish it later, but I would like to suggest if you could put some videos of your process building a deck, your first idea, the changes it goes through , and the end result. Kind of you commenting while showing us clips of the process and game play. Like if during a matchup you realize that there is a card it needs instead of another... I don't know, something like that. And they can be lengthier than the highlights... Anyway I'm rumbling around, thanks for the content! (Maybe you do this on stream, but as a RUclips audience ill watch does videos)

Do you think there is room left for innovation in card games that will actually improve player experience? I played redakai to death in maybe 2012-2013 after I found out you had designed it, and thought the stacking system with transparent cards was amazing, but it seems to have never caught on.
