      Terrible take on sixto. You proceeded to mention his injuries… then took the fattest dump on him and his career? Like dang you don’t think being injured and the entire process of rehab is difficult? Of course hes gonna get impacted by the injury and potentially lose some velo, add that to the fact he JUST recently got back to pitching. Normally your content is good, but man you really sh!t the bed on this one. Like seriously, basically everyone in this comment section is saying how wrong you are. Least you could do is it address it man. Smh

    This take is terrible. The whole thing. Normally your content is fine. Injuries are not wasted talent. The reason he cannot pitch is because of shoulder injuries. That is not his fault. The fault is the surgeon who did not properly fix his shoulder. The surgeon effectively injured his career. Not Sixto.
    Also players get fat when they can’t play their sport. That is completely normal. injuries lead to depression and suicidal thoughts. Which in a lot of cases leads to over eating. Sixto does not need to be made fun of for the dark times hes going through. I guarantee if you asked him he would say he wished he was healthy living his dream. The man needs help. Not a video crucifying him because he lost his most valuable thing in the world. His health.
    This is coming from an ex pitcher that threw 97 mph at 16 that had his career ended due to marfan syndrome and a career ending shoulder surgery. So yes. I am one of the best qualified people other than sixto to speak on this situation.

    Dietitian here!🙋🏽‍♂️ Food is an accesible and dangerous copying mechanism for everyone. Any athlete can fall into that abyss while facing potentially career ending injuries. The expectations for the professional athlete behaviors are so off, I really feel this video and the narrative portrayed are completely unnecessary. Yes, it is a shame such talent is lost in the loop; but,getting clicks, comments and likes to profit from someone's downfall is plain cheap. Have some respect for the athlete and the struggle, not all of them get the support they need and some of them come from such humble backgrounds, they feel the whole world collapsing in front of them when facing a career ending injury. There's a worried family, there's a scared dickless athlete thinking he's not gonna be able to remove his loved ones from poverty....come on! Athletes are not machines! Show some respect and try and find other ways to profit, instead of despair and tragedy.

    I think this video would motivate Sixto Sanchez if he somehow came across it trying to recover from his shoulder injury. Sixto alongside Sandy Alcantara could be a huge problem, the Marlins are very fortunate they made the playoffs last year due to the Mets collapse and them trading everyone. The NL East division gonna be nasty and good in the long run, the Marlins are lowkey getting better and learning their past mistakes when it comes to building a team and having the fanbase to trust them (which has been a Achilles heel for the Marlins for a very long time).

    Sixto is a classic example of even if you have top tier elite stuff, it's difficult to stay healthy enough for several years in the minors to actually make the majors, and even more difficult to consistently stay healthy enough in the majors. There are plenty of stories like him over the years. Unfortunately it's going to get even worse now that if you don't have a 95+ MPH fastball and offspeed with a minimum number of RPM's you aren't even looked at. Also I feel like the recruiting of Sixto Sanchez by the Phillies was fascinating he was a completely unknown Shortstop and the Phillies didn't have anyone to do bp for a Catching prospect who was known and the Phillies scouts basically fell in love with his instincts for a guy who presumably had barely pitched up to that point. They signed him on a very cheap contract and within a year or two he was one of the best prospects in a deep Phillies farm system and was way ahead of the curve when traded it's telling that even now he's still just about the age that plenty of pitchers debut having missed 3 years in a row and part of one while a prospect for the Phillies. Apparently the reason the Phillies included him for Realmuto was that another pitching prospect turned bust in Spencer Howard was becoming dominant at around the same time and there were "rumors" that the Phillies were worried about Sixto's durability in terms of his motion effecting his elbow and shoulder and after 3 years of shoulder problems it appears that those rumors were well founded.

    there must be a way to scan a pitcher's ligaments and tendons to see how much strain they can handle, because this is crazy
    and I find it so strange how the pitch clock gets tightened up a little, and not one of them thought "I'll throw slower" so they can manage the harder workload

    • @isiight.
      @isiight. 8 месяцев назад

      Your first part is solid. we all wish there was. But throwing slower and pitch clock have absolutely nothing to do with it and does not make the workload harder.

      @isiight. mri's are pretty good i think, idk, you can get extremely detailed faces of babies in wombs. I suppose the diameter of a ligaments isn't the only factor that determines its durability
      throwing harder clearly puts more strain on the body. If I sprinted for 10 seconds, then rested for 20 seconds, and repeat, i'd clearly get tired faster if I sprinted for 10 seconds, and rested for 10. I'd have to sprint slower to maintain that pace

    • @isiight.

      @@juancuelloespinosa look man im sorry your just straight up wrong. Mris are not that great. In fact it would tell you just about nothing about a ucls strength or a rotator cuff/shoulder capsule/thoracic issue.
      Throwing and sprinting have 0 correlation on the impact to the body. They do no even function slightly similar.
      I have rehabbed through tommy john surgery, rotator cuff surgery, and thoracic outlet syndrome. You are just wrong mate. Its ok to be wrong. Just take this info and learn from it and become better.

      @@isiight. well anyway, if it existed, teams would certainly have it
      I should've just kept it at pitching - i don't know why you don't understand it's the same point - but I'll remove the analogy
      if you throw at, say, 90 mph, and you give yourself 30 seconds to rest between throws, and you do that 100 times, you'll cause some amount of strain on your arm.
      if you do the same, but instead of resting 30 seconds between pitches, it's 10 seconds, you'll be noticeably more tired, meaning you also put your arm through more; you generated more power.
      and I'm sorry to hear that, I'm guessing you reached at least minor leagues? now I see why you really wanted that tech, you would've stopped before causing that much damage

    • @isiight.
      @isiight. 8 месяцев назад

      @@juancuelloespinosa its not the same point. You have no understanding of biomechanics. That is why you are the one that is not understanding. Pitching injuries are wear and tear injuries not cardiovascular. You don’t understand basic science and are trying to talk about science.
      Look into pitching throwing programs used by driveline and companies that are not stuck in 1900s research. I don’t have time to explain it all to you honestly. It would be a phone call not with text and it would be multiple hours of confusion until you could possibly somewhat understand.

    The sad thing is Realmuto wanted to sign an extension with the Marlins. He openly talked about it. The Marlins didn't want to pay him though and have been desperately looking for a catcher ever since. They got Alfaro with Sixto in the Realmuto trade and Alfaro was supposed to be the catcher of the future. He ended up being terrible though. They traded to get former top 5 overall draft pick Alex Jackson from the Braves after that. He was terrible. They tried Jacob Stallings and several other catchers after that too. You want to know what's crazy? Braves fans were shocked when the Phillies got Realmuto because the Braves had offered a much better package for him. At the time the Marlins were just asking teams for their best major league ready prospects for JT no matter what. So the Braves offered *both* of not only Michael Soroka (before he ever had injury issues) but also *Ozzie freaking Albies* in exchange for Realmuto. Do you know what the Marlins said? They told the Braves they weren't going to make any trade with them that didn't include Acuña. Since Acuña was the Braves top prospect they were adamant that he be in the deal. When the Braves said no they chose Sixto and Alfaro from the Phillies instead. Can you imagine? The Marlins *chose* Sixto and Alfaro over *Ozzie Albies* and Soroka. The other thing to consider is Soroka missed 2 years due to a freak Achilles injury in Atlanta. That probably wouldn't have happened if he were on another team because of the circumstances in which it occurred. So Soroka might have actually been healthy for the Marlins and that would have been on top of them having Albies. But noooooo.... The Marlins refused to deal with the Braves unless they got Acuña which was never going to happen. The logic behind negotiating that way was the Marlins were asking for so much from the Braves because they play in the same division. Then they go make a deal with the Phillies who also play in the same division though so it made no sense. But there you have it. The Marlins could've had Ozzie Albies and Michael Soroka but choose Jorge Alfaro and Sixto Sanchez instead.
