My mum bought the 40 Golden Greats compilation album of Cliff's hits that came out at the end of 1977. It was a double vinyl LP with ten songs on each side running in chronolgical order,beginning with his fab 1958 debut smash Move It (one of his very best) and ending with this song from spring 1977. This song reminds me of waking up very early one morning and leaning out of my bedroom window on the second floor,sipping a cup of tea while watching dawn roll in,dawn chorus and all,and first light give way to the first hints of sunniness of the new day. Simple pleasures.

I have heard that the Stratocaster in the video is Hank Marvin's original 57 Stratocaster that Cliff Richard (sacrilege) re-finished in white...!!! Until Bruce Welch had it restored to its original Flamingo Pink colour :-) There again, while re-finishing a legendary instrument would a stupid thing for me to do, Cliff is way more of a legend than the guitar...
I think Bruce Welch can be credited as the guy that kick started Cliff's career in 1976 as it was he who assembled the track list on his brilliant comeback album 'I'm Nearly Famous'.
