I have the base LS with the manual transmission in Caribbean Blue and I love it! It’s affordable, reliable, and fun to play with in the corners 😉 The driver’s door lock is actually power by the way. It automatically locks when you drive and unlocks when you remove the key or you can control it with the My Chevrolet app on a smartphone 😎
Got one last week after my $349 gasoline bill. Couldn't afford not to get a Spark. Even $4,500 over retail in August 2022. This is a blast to drive. It surprised me. Feels like a bigger car but loves winding roads. So nimble.
Great detailed & informative review. I have this exact same model but in a pearlescent ivory/ beige color. Great driving experience, roomy, and I love how it appears to be a 2 door coupe because of where the door handles on the back doors are placed. I get the sporty look of a 2 door with the functionality of 4 doors. And although I was kind of off put at 1st, I quickly came to love this model's LACK of technology, i.e., manual windows, side rear view mirrors, manual door locks = less sh💩t to break, i.e., less repair co$t 💵 🚫 🤲🏻 🙆🏾♂️🥳🎆!! I'm REAL sad 😔 to hear they won't be making it anymore going into 2023. But I'm not surprised 😑. The "Great Reset ⌛" is upon us & the Elite 👩🏻🦳🧑🏻🦳can't have us saving $ 💵 with these low-mileage cars 🚙 when the whole point of them raising fuel prices 📈 is to bleed 🩸 us dry!!

The base LS trim level does not have power windows, mirrors or locks. The rest of the trim levels do have those features as well as cruise control. I absolutely do not understand why people need or want power windows. I plan to buy one as soon as my lease is up on my Honda. I'll be sad when this model goes away as it is the last car, other the outgoing 2019 Nissan Versa, to have manual, crank windows. To me, the base LS with the 5-speed manual transmission, is the ideal car.
It's cute too. Yea i know the power windows and mirrors are optional still, but they are cute. If i had money i would get one myself. Just having a car itself is fine, i don't think having those power conveniences are a necessary thing. If you can live without it, then say less.
Ridiculous that vehicles as small as the Spark are mandated to have back-up cameras. As for the Spark itself, I like that the base trim has an overall lack of electronic features. For those of us who keep their cars for many years, those electronic features tend to be the first to break. And, the most expensive to repair aside from the engine or transmission.

the Mitsubishi Mirage is a better choice with a lot more interior room and rear seat comfort. Much better gas mileage as well. The Spark is more powerful though.
@@scottsaustin I know several people that have had major issues with their Spark (two had failed engines) meanwhile everybody loves their Mirage, no problems. Don't get me wrong, they're both shitboxes, but from what I've seen the Mirage is more reliable.

The Mirage has been reviewed as far worse both in terms of predicted reliability and features-and has a less powerful engine-68HP IRRC
