i believe the game cube was slightly weaker than original Xbox...witch is amazing and also the reason Nintendo don't do stunning graphics because the game cube never sold...but with weak consoles it would
Nicholas Kakolyris I just gave some support yesterday! I'm having a blast with Super Mario/Luigi Wii U!! I never owned a Wii so I'm going to get some of those sports games, I already have a wiimote/nunchuck combo I bought to play Zelda: SS with. (I also picked up Zelda Wind Waker HD)
The Wii U is an amazing Console, I own a powerful PC, Xbox 1, and Wii U and I have to say i am so impressed with it. Anyone who puts down a Wii U is either a loser troll or a crybaby little fanboy to the Xbox 1 or PS4, not willing to look at the larger picture at hand.
jojorobino5312 well with the release of mario kart 8, the soon-to-be released smash bros for wii u with its own gamecube controller adapter and custom smash bros gamecube controller and hyrule warriors, the wii u might just have more sales than maybe the xbox one.... if it doesnt gain more sales from removing the kinect from coming with it
For those of you who enjoyed this video thanks for making this my first video to reach over 100k VIEWS!!! I recently uploaded another video showing the evolution of Nintendo's Handheld graphics. Check it out here!: ruclips.net/video/-Abtt3dTqhY/видео.html
+MProductions GAMING Dude you should have done was be original and start from the NES. Every video I have seen starts with the N64, but to start with the NES now that's how you see the evolution of Nintendo Graphics!!!! Other than that great job man.
+(hiatus)Mahly | MalPlays +fireheartis1 I wanted to show the evolution of graphics on the 3D graphic-producing consoles. That's why I started from the N64. That, and some of these franchises didn't even start on the NES. As for the Zelda question, I made a comment above explaining my reasons for using the games I did for the GCN and Wii.
To answer everyone's question as to my choice of Zelda games for the GCN and Wii sections of my video, let me explain. I chose not to show Zelda: Twilight Princess as the representative of the GCN because its Wii port was, in comparison, graphically better. That was why I used Wind Waker for the GCN. However, if I used TP for the Wii, I feel it wouldn't have done the Wii justice. After all, TP was the one of the Wii's launch titles, while Skyward Sword came near the end of the Wii's relevancy/lifecycle. Therefore, Nintendo knew how to better optimize for the system. Yes, SS doesn't have realistic graphics like TP. However, its nuances such as their models being much smoother in comparison to TP is why I used SS for the Wii in this video. *In addition (and more importantly), since TP is the only realistic-looking 3D Zelda game, while the others are cartoony/cel-shaded, it made all the more sense to omit TP in favor of showing the jump from WW to SS.* I also knew I would get comments questioning my choices of games for the Zelda franchise specifically. Choosing which ones to use during editing was hard, but after thinking more on it, I came up with the logic I've explained earlier. Even if I had used TP for the GCN, I'd have people in the comments wanting me to have used it for the Wii instead or vice-versa because of the graphically-superior Wii version/ SS looking better than TP arguments respectively. TL;DR I can't win 'em all :P **EDIT: Thinking more on it now, if I remade this video AFTER Zelda TPHD and Zelda Wii U came out, I would still keep the GCN and Wii entries the same as shown in this video and use Zelda Wii U as the Wii U entry. Zelda TP is the only 3D Zelda game that went for a realistic atmosphere, and if TPHD will come out looking as bad as it does now, I'd rather show the evolution of cell-shaded graphics from Zelda WW, to SS, and to Wii U. It's more consise that way IMHO.
@maltese 84 The raw power of the gpu is 15-ish% bigger while docked and weaker in portable mode. The real difference isn't there though, the cpu and the RAM are far ahead on the switch and also the architecture is way more modern, allowing more efficiency and compatibility with current engines which produce overall better graphics. Exactly how much more powerful it is is a bit complex to calculate and would require research but the switch can produce graphics that are well in the middle between the wii u and the regular x box one when being well optimized, there are very good examples of this on RUclips if you search for them.
Does anyone else thinks that most GameCube games have aged a lot better than n64 games? I mean, of course GameCube games are newer than N64 games but if you played Metroid Prime, Super Mario Sunshine, TLOZ Wind Waker, F-Zero GX or whatever game today they could still pass as new releases. In fact Many GameCube are new releases, Resident Evil, Resident Evil 4, The Legend of Zelda the Wind Waker, Tales of Symphonia Chronicles, Soul Calibur 2 were re released with most of the code intact. While N64 games do feel too dated by todays standards beyond graphics.
Sam Levy Well thats obvious, but lets compare Sunshine and 64 on other aspects, like the controls, Controlling Mario in Super Mario 64 it pretty clunky, but this is not the case in Super Mario Sunshine. In fact Sunshine controls are even better than most recent 3D platform games. Or Ocarina of time to Twilight Princess, Ocarina of time has horrible water physics and cheesy animations but Twilight Princess does not.
Stefan Goedhart Not sure, I think the N64 was more of an experiment to see which gameplay elements from 16 bit games would work for 3d games published on future consoles. I dont think low poly character models, low framerates and somewhat clunky controls are a real revolution when compared to the beautiful sprite art from Genesis and SNES games. But hey you got to start somewhere haha. Then when everyone knew what worked for 3D games and what didn´t the GameCube, PlayStation 2 and XBox came and we got proper ports of PC games and Holy shit games are not only in 3d but now almost all of them are good.
The reason for this is because when the N64 released in 1996, 3d polygons where still in there early stages and had been far from perfected which is also why some people say SNES games and GCN games have aged better. While the SNES wasn't in 3d by the time that came out 2d sprites where in their prime.
I actually really enjoyed this. The graphics between the N64 and the GameCube are staggering. In fact, it seems GameCube games do a better job of holding up today than the Xbox and Ps2, when it comes to their 1st party titles. The only change I would have made is the new REAL Zelda footage instead of Hyrule Warriors. Not the tech demo, but the actual announced game and in game chase footage. Then again, that may have not have been out when this video was made.
i think the biggest difference was in between the N64 and GC because in the game cube was were all this character got their definitive 3d look...and also they got fingers:p
!! IDIOT GET BETTER CONTACTS OR SOME CRAP, SMG2 ISNT BETTER LOOKING THAN SUPER MARIO 3D WORLD!!!!! GAHHHH I WANT TO SCREAM ON YOUR FACE REAL LOUD!!!!!!
I'm impressed with Mario Galaxy. Great graphics on a low powered system. I wouldn't want anymore Galaxy games in the future because I would like just a new Mario 3D platformer if that isn't to hard to ask!!!
Mario Galaxy is just shinier. 3D World although colorful seems a bit duller than Galaxy. And If you have ever played Galaxy on an Emulator and ran it at 1080p, it looks AMAZING! The textures aren't great once you look at them closely. But If you just looked at 3D world and Galaxy side by side both running at 1080p I wouldn't blame you if you thought they were both WiiU games.
I never said It was bad but I´m just saying mario galaxy had its feel to it but the sequel ruined it because they made way less levels with space atmosphere
What the hell is everyone talking about? Skyward Sword looks amazing! Sure it only runs at 480p 30fps but that doesn't matter, the artstyle makes up for it and makes the games look really good, at least compared to other Wii titles.
Dwight southwell The Gamecube is not on par with the Wii but they did have similar specs and nearly identical hardware. As someone else mentioned, the Wii is basically an overclocked Gamecube, which is why it can run Gamecube games natively. Also, Twilight Princess was released on both systems and it looked identical graphically, though it's possible (and just my guess) that it may have been initially programmed to work on Gamecube and then ported to Wii.
APPLBL00M "it may have been initially programmed to work on Gamecube and then ported to Wii" That's exactly what it was. During TPs development, Nintendo had the intention to only have it come out on the GC, but as we know, it got delayed...... then it got delayed again...... to the point where nintendo decided to release it for both systems.
I play on getting Smash Brothers and Mario Kart 8. I just got the Wii U. Have not played either of those games. The only thing I dont much care for about the Wii U is the overhyped and over priced Amiibo toys.
look at the graphics difference between mario kart wii and super mario galaxy. Both games are on the same console but i thought the difference was quite large
billyblackburn87 awww dont exagerate, but i thought MKDD has slightly better graphics and more realistic look than MKWii. But MKDD was a huge leap from MK64 and MK8 was the same from MKWii
There's more detail in Wii graphics. You can tell the system was trying to be more ambitious, and in many cases the lighting looks very shiny and colorful. It can look hazy when playing on an HDTV nowadays, probably for those same reasons. HD converters can help to smooth things out a bit, though.
Sorry but i feel like for Gamecube you should have put Twilight Princess and for Wii U you should have put Wind Waker HD. Would have been a way better comparison
TP was on GC and Wii. SS was made for the Wii but I do agreed. Even though you can say that TP didn't use the Wii graphic capability but SS was limited by the lack of power the Wii has.
Brenton Bolderoff Yeah I agree that should've also used TP because it would have been a better choice because it was using the same art style as Oot, and Hyrule warriors, I'm aware that WW looks better, but TP would've made the comparison more accurate since WW used cel-shaded graphics art style which isn't used in the other games used in this comparison.
Brenton Bolderoff TP didn't push the GameCube graphically either. The Wii is only 1.5x the power of GameCube, graphical differences are essentially down to improvements in game engines and art design.
liveswired Yeah but it would've made the comparison in the video more accurate when comparing each system doing the same o similar artstyle, but I will admit that WW was the better choice when it comes to graphical power( that game still looks good damn).
There was a huge difference between N64 and Gamecube and between Wii and Wii U but I didn't notice as much of a difference between Gamecube and Wii. (which, I'm sure, is due to similar specs)
There is no denying how great the GameCube looks compared to the Nintendo 64, it's just leaps and bounds better than it. To me, the GameCube and Wii were so similar graphically the Wii always just felt like a GameCube with motion controls. At the top of its game with releases like Super Mario Galaxy 2 and a few others the Wii really shows how big an improvement it was graphically over the GameCube. I actually think Mario Kart Double Dash looks a tad better than Mario Kart Wii! It's insane! But in terms of graphical improvements, I think the Wii U is an incredible improvement over the Wii, in some cases, I can't see the graphics being much better than they are on certain Wii U games like Super Mario 3D World, Mario Kart 8 and DKC Tropical Freeze. I haven't ever really cared about graphical fidelity much, but playing a game with great gameplay mechanics as well as visuals is a match made in heaven.
***** Try comparing Star Fox (SNES) and Star Fox 64 (obviously N64). I consider the Super FX chip a 4th gen Reality. (Reality is the name of the N64's processor).
Waldo Trollaldo Yeah definitely they used far too much bloom lighting in mkwii and if a game doesn't use it right they can make alot of things looks alot less detailed then they actually are.
IMO the Donkey Kong Country games aged better then most N64 games. While its technically inferior, its use of 2D simply looks better then the N64 doing 3D.
The original trilogy definitely is a prime example of what can be done with 16-bit hardware. Particularly DKC 3 while not the best gameplay wise graphic wise I think it looks the best out of the trilogy
I don't know what Nintendo was thinking when they came up with their naming and advertisement. Some people still think the Wii U is just an add-on for the Wii. The way I had to explain it to some people that the Wii U was in fact a new console. Was by using the phrase "Think of it like a Wii 2" so they would finally understand it was different. The name was a HUGE mistake and very possibly part of the reason it has taken so long for it to sell well.
@@cheddar07 I know ( i think) what they were trying to do. And you gotta give them some respect for doing this. Nintendo hasn't got this many sales for the Wii ever since the NES came out back in 1985. And the NES was so popular, they decided to make the SNES, the sequel to the NES. And it was a success! I think they were just trying to do the same thing with the Wii, since it was so popular. I respect their decision of doing that.
It's not just an upgrade of resolution experience but total modern graphics that shines like a movie in all directions. The Wii U should be one of your console collection and if a 3rd party game is out for the Wii U, get it instead the other versions so you can experience Wii U style game play. Great history show case! The Wii 4U might be the 4K gen once 4K tvs come down in price around or below $2000. 8K is way too expensive and there's not as much 4k channels or movies to watch.
Mario Kart Wii to Mario Kart 8 difference is absurd. Also, Hyrule Warriors. What was that all about? Zelda U was shown at this time, you either avoid putting Zelda on the vid or just use the tech demo at least. (I still think it's best to leave Zelda out since it's hard to compare because of the varying artstyles)
I like moré Nintendo 64 i remember when i play all n64 games at kid all that memories its so good that i still have all the games of my n64 in my attic :')
I have a ps4 which is considered the most powerful console in the world. I got it at launch but I have to say I am seriously considering selling it and getting a wii u. The games on ps4 look great and all but I find games just aren't fun anymore they all seem to serious. Every game I look at on wii u look really good clean fun and I can play with all the family. I think I will wait till xmas for the price to drop a bit or get bundles with more games but I can't wait to go back to having fun again like I did in my snes,N64,gc days
Hyrule Warriors? Seriously? It doesn't look so good and it is a spinoff, you should had taken the Zelda graphic demo. Besides this, it is a good video.
What do you mean? Super Mario Galaxy was better than Super Mario Sunshine, Kirby's Epic Yarn and Return to Dreamland were better than the Kirby games on the Gamecube, although Zelda Wind Waker was way better than Skyward Sword, and I would take Mario Kart Double Dash over Mario Kart Wii any day.
nate the nintendo player Hooray! another melee fanboy!! -_- what the hell is wrong with brawl???? and what is so great about melee that brawl or smash 4 doesn't have besides not nerfed fighters
The wii used a much grittier look and more realistic, yet blurry textures. The gamecube had a more flat colour and slightly cartoonish style. But did you know all 2009 wii games look the same?
I need to replay the Mario Galaxy games. After I get the last few blue coins I'm missing in Sunshine though. Been hunting them off and on for many years.
Zelda Comparision N64 Ocarina of Time - Good GameCube Wind Waker - Very Good Wii Skyward Sword - Very Good Comparision of Wind Waker Wii U Breath of The Wild - Very Amazing
Hace poco me compre la Wii y me encantan los juegos exclusivos que trae. Pero ya quisiera tene la Wii U je :) Me encanto el video ahí te dejo mi Like!! :D
johan vanderwal its difficult to argue. Another highlight of the graphics that no one mentions is the incredible draw distance, a lot of games from that period suffered from pop up of images in the background when they came to the foreground, but wind waker didn't have that problem....
Although Wii U graphics are above all by quite a bit, GameCube is where my heart is. I never had so much fun playing on a console. I just wish Banjo and Kazooie was on it because combine a great game with a great controller... I would be at that game for a long time.
tomi yunh Wind Waker's graphics are very colourful and bright, but Twilight Princess' are more realistic and suited towards the older audience. Plus, they were pushing the GameCube's graphics to the limit with Twilight Princess.
Good video, but I will critique not using TP, I know that WW looks much better, but since TP's artstlye was closer to the artstyles used in the other games so the graphical comparison would've been more accurate( not saying WW shouldn't hae been used, just saying TP should've atleast also been used). Also I believe that it should count as a GC game since the wii version was merely a port and had little to no graphical upgrades from the GC graphics the game was made with.Still a great video though. And damn do GC games age well.
N64: Nice, classic, but unpolished look. (Understandable) Gamecube: Good graphics, very great jump from N64 to Here. Wii: Great graphics, amazing change, great use of simplistic shaders and shadow tricks. Wii U: Still Great graphics, couldnt notice any actual change, better shaders however.
Nintendo 64: 4MB of ram; 500MB of bandwidth; 100,000 Polygons Per Second Nintendo Gamecube: 24MB ram; 2.6GB of bandwidth; 12,000,000 PPS Nintendo Wii: 88MB ram; 3.9GB of bandwidth; 500,000,000 PPS Nintendo Wii U: 2GB ram; 563.9GB of bandwidth Could not find any liable source o polygon count for the wii u, estimating around 1 billion PPS. So anyone wondering/confused, more storage/memory = better graphics. Better graphics = cost more money. You ever thought about why a 32BG SDHC memory card costs more than a 4GB card? It has more storage.
Thank you for having respected the native resolutions of the machines...I am fed up with dudes who compare the ZELDAs by showing Ocarina of Time running at 1080p.
I was surprised at how much the wii improved a lot of series. While the Wii's resolution of 480p was the same as The gamecube (technically, if you account for progressive scan) but the detail in Wii games is a lot better IMO. Of course Wii U games are the best looking.
i mean the only thing about this video that actually is in HD is the screen overlays you did with the png images and the text. but the actual video footage sucks.
The graphical jump from N64 to Gamecube is actually quite stunning.
It's a graphical change we will never experience again.
TheSuperPenGuy or will we?muhahahahahaha
MladenBro Duhn duhn *DUUUUUUUHHHHNNNNN*
3 things
Polygons textures and pixels
i believe the game cube was slightly weaker than original Xbox...witch is amazing and also the reason Nintendo don't do stunning graphics because the game cube never sold...but with weak consoles it would
Biggest difference is n64 to GameCube
Agree
definitely Wii to Wii u
smallest is GameCube to Wii
BoomerDude McGuy a BIG difference we may never see again.
Its strange because Wii has roughly double the power as the GC
I'm very proud to say I'm a Wii U owner despite what people say
good for u! I wish I got a Wii U over the Xbox one. I've liked all the nintendo consoles except Wii.

gamecube is still very nice to me nowadays
steg140 Definitely. Still trying to track down some games, and my how some of them have become expensive!
X Legend thank you. Just. Thank you.
+steg140 Me too
i think the gamecube holds up to the ps4 quite well for me
Timo Gorsseling It olds up to pretty much every single newer consoles.
Great Video. It's also interesting how game SOUND has evolved through time, especially since the NES 8-Bit days :)
I love when people are like "N64 has the best graphics", like I have nostalgia and love the style too but cut that shit out.
Graphics don't really matter to me, as long as I'm able to play it that's good enough for me
Gamekat a true gamer speaks the truth

No mp 9 has better graphics
Mario Party 9 feels and looks more alive.
N64 to gamecube made the greatest leap in graphical quality. Consoles after that were slight improvements

look at the graphics difference between mario kart wii and super mario galaxy. Both games are on the same console but i thought the difference was quite large
billyblackburn87 awww dont exagerate, but i thought MKDD has slightly better graphics and more realistic look than MKWii.
But MKDD was a huge leap from MK64 and MK8 was the same from MKWii
presidentevil ye and.....
billyblackburn87 for bigger resolution but a component cable for wii by nintendo and put HDTV mode on your wii
When a video says Smash 4 (working title)
I feel old
I actually like the wii 'shady' style the most. I'd love to one day see an updated version of this.
There's more detail in Wii graphics. You can tell the system was trying to be more ambitious, and in many cases the lighting looks very shiny and colorful. It can look hazy when playing on an HDTV nowadays, probably for those same reasons. HD converters can help to smooth things out a bit, though.
When you showed Super Smash Bros Melee, the video you used makes it look a LOT more pixel-y than it actually is.
Ah, the nostalgia of the 64, Game Cube, and Wii.
Holy shit, that clip at the end of pikachu backing away from the thwomp was funny as hell.
!!! Wow the music is to good! Its great :) !
Great video and a good reminder how Nintendo is a master of making epic games period!
The legend of Zelda: The wind breaker
No, a better comparison is similar styles. So Wind Waker and Wind Waker HD, or Twilight Princess and Hyrule Warriors.
I agree with most of what you say. Especially I agree that Mario Kart Wii looks worse than Double Dash.
The Wii U is Nintendo's first console with HD graphics, so that is why it looks a lot better than Wii.
Deksor ^^ what he said
***** Try comparing Star Fox (SNES) and Star Fox 64 (obviously N64). I consider the Super FX chip a 4th gen Reality. (Reality is the name of the N64's processor).
Deksor Oh, okay.
Mariokart 8 has the best graphics of any game so far
Agreed.
true! even I couldn't believe that Mario Kart 8 has better graphics than all other games ive seen.
Actually, MKWii looked much worse than MKDD.
Waldo Trollaldo Yeah definitely they used far too much bloom lighting in mkwii and if a game doesn't use it right they can make alot of things looks alot less detailed then they actually are.
Gamecube > every other consoles
I say wii because GameCube games can be played on it :D
+ThatGamer I say the Wii U because it can play both, as well as retro games from the 64, snes, and nes :D
+Bob Highley lol the wii can do that too.
+Bob Highley But you have to buy Gamecube games, even if you already own them.
I say Wii > every other console
I actually liked the wii u a lot. but for the sake of nostalgia i'd go with gamecube
Whats with the bloom lighting in all the new Wii u titles. Also Mario kart GC to Wii looks almost identical.
For me n64 wins, ok the graphics are not good i know but n64 introduced so many new game sagas like super smash bros paper mario and others
it also has one of the best games
Yeah like super mario 64, golden eye 007, first super smash bros and others
This video isn’t even about the games. It’s about the graphics
Carl XVI HOW CAN YOU FORGET STAR FOX?!
Is it just me or does the opening to Super Mario 3D World sound nice
It's incredible how SM64 and OOT still looks good today.
Why is the Wii U always hidden behind the Gamepad in all its ads? Doesn't Nintendo want people to know what it looks like
I don't know what Nintendo was thinking when they came up with their naming and advertisement.
Big step from 64 to GC, you can really tell the difference.
Lol I knew witch games were gonna come up right away xD (I love Mario 3D Games)
Kirby changed so much! From N64 to WiiU
Funny how, other than the casing, the interfaces and the OS, the wii is just a 50% overclocked gamecube with more RAM.
The Wind Waker looked stunning for hardware made quite a few years ago :3 ♥
N64, GCN, WII, and WII U. Sweet. Next, do PS1, PS2, PS3, and PS4.
Smash 4's theme gets me soooo hyped
its weird how up to the wii u i knew every game that was going to appear for the console
Just imagine when Nintendo goes back to cartridges in 2017 nobody would have believed you in 2014
the n64 is still better than wii U. because of 1 fact, HOW ABOUT THE ACTUALL MUSIC. like super mario 64 ohhhhh my goodness that music is over powered
Snikerman ohhhhh my goodness n64 games were original and fun!
Think again, would you really say, that StarFox 64 or F-Zero X music is better than the themes from Assault and GX?
I prefer 64 as well
Hyrule Warriors? Seriously? It doesn't look so good and it is a spinoff, you should had taken the Zelda graphic demo. Besides this, it is a good video.
this video was made before the demo
I don't know, just something about low poly graphics in games makes it really charming for some reason to me.
Gamecube is the best.I prefer it over the wii because it has so many better games especially smash bros melee
nate the nintendo player I'll play Super Smash Bros Melee over Brawl anytime.
***** Find a retro game store near you. At the one near me I think it's like $25 or so.
nate the nintendo player melee op
What do you mean? Super Mario Galaxy was better than Super Mario Sunshine, Kirby's Epic Yarn and Return to Dreamland were better than the Kirby games on the Gamecube, although Zelda Wind Waker was way better than Skyward Sword, and I would take Mario Kart Double Dash over Mario Kart Wii any day.
nate the nintendo player Hooray! another melee fanboy!! -_- what the hell is wrong with brawl???? and what is so great about melee that brawl or smash 4 doesn't have besides not nerfed fighters
Is it just me or does anyone else feel that the Wii's graphics are a slight downgrade compared to Gamecube?
It's just you I think. I saw a pretty noticeable difference between the two
The wii used a much grittier look and more realistic, yet blurry textures. The gamecube had a more flat colour and slightly cartoonish style. But did you know all 2009 wii games look the same?
Wii games used a ton of bloom effects look at Metroid Prime on Wii same as GameCube just brighter and shinier due to bloom
everything on the wii looks washed out and just plain bad. gcn wins by a mile
And little did you guys know, that Wii had GameCube compatibility.
Melee > All.
SUPPORT SMASHERS

Fanboy> Much
I need to replay the Mario Galaxy games. After I get the last few blue coins I'm missing in Sunshine though. Been hunting them off and on for many years.
The colors pop the most on wii but that’s just because the game looks so good
Wtf kirby has changed so much 0_0
Craterux the jump from gamecube and wii didnt change kirby that much XD
Zelda Comparision
N64 Ocarina of Time - Good
GameCube Wind Waker - Very Good
Wii Skyward Sword - Very Good Comparision of Wind Waker
Wii U Breath of The Wild - Very Amazing
In this video my favorite games are
Mario: Mario sunshine
Mario kart: Mario kart double dash
Zelda: OoT, WW
SSB: Ssbb
Hace poco me compre la Wii y me encantan los juegos exclusivos que trae. Pero ya quisiera tene la Wii U je :)
Me encanto el video ahí te dejo mi Like!! :D
Video: Tells me to watch in 1080p
Video: Only available in 720p and below
ObsidianWolf that depends in your cellphone or screen resolution i can watch the video in 1080p in my hd screen
I have *EVERY* single Mario Kart game on this list xD
Zelda and the wind waker has the best graphic's on the game cube
Wind waker was some of the best graphics ever from that period gamecube/ xbox/ps2
I think they had the best graphic's of that time period
johan vanderwal its difficult to argue. Another highlight of the graphics that no one mentions is the incredible draw distance, a lot of games from that period suffered from pop up of images in the background when they came to the foreground, but wind waker didn't have that problem....
Indeed Wind waker And Okami where pretty nice games and there remakes are one of the best remakes i've ever seen :O ^^ loved those games and still do
johan vanderwal ye windwake and okami are some of the greatest games in history in my opinion. Wind Waker is my favirote Zelda.
Although Wii U graphics are above all by quite a bit, GameCube is where my heart is. I never had so much fun playing on a console. I just wish Banjo and Kazooie was on it because combine a great game with a great controller... I would be at that game for a long time.
Wind Waker's cellshading aged quite well.
Just wondering why you wouldn't use Twilight Princess...since you could have done a really good comparison between GCB and Wii.
+Hampus Björklund there actually ARE graphical changes and though minor, if you play both you can see them.
In my opinion the biggest graphical jumps for Nintendo I think are probably SNES to n64 and Wii to Wii U.
For Zelda on Gamecube you should have shown TP instead, WW's graphics are barely better than OoT or MM.
k
IRNatman you mean tw graphics are bad and ww good
tomi yunh
..You serious? Wind wakers graphics are better than Twilight Princess'? Damn son, I want some of what you're smoking!
Lol
tomi yunh Wind Waker's graphics are very colourful and bright, but Twilight Princess' are more realistic and suited towards the older audience. Plus, they were pushing the GameCube's graphics to the limit with Twilight Princess.
i think the biggest grafical update jumps (pun intendet) are from n64 and gc
Hyrule Warriors isn't a Zelda game at all...
***** Yeah but it's a different type of game with a different type of budget and aim. He should use the first zelda u trailer.
It's the only Zelda game the have following the art style of ocarina of time. Realism.
***** It doesn't
Dracogame At the time no one really knew it was a Dynasty Warriors spin off. Because the game had a working title.
Dracogame Further more, it's showing the evolution of GRAPHICS, not the specific game.
And damn do GC games age well.
gamecube still looks the best over the years
Should've shown Twilight Princess for GameCube then WWHD for Wii U
What that GCN mean? I know its Game Cube, but what does it mean? Game Cube Nintendo?
NGC should of been the name but im pretty sure some company already took that so nintendo had to name it GCN
Penguin Bro I think NGC is National Geographic (Corporation?), so they had to use GCN.
yeah it was something like that
Nope, Im from late 90' (1999)
***** ......
'Adults these days...
I look back to the GCN and cry. The last good nintendo console.
For Nintendo's first HD console, they did a pretty good job!
wii has hd too.
II VENEX II II VENEX II Wii goes up to 480p
People need to get their eyes checked MKWii does look better than Double Dash in (lighting, environments, etc)
N64: Nice, classic, but unpolished look. (Understandable)
Gamecube: Good graphics, very great jump from N64 to Here.
Wii: Great graphics, amazing change, great use of simplistic shaders and shadow tricks.
Wii U: Still Great graphics, couldnt notice any actual change, better shaders however.
This should be updated with Zelda U footage.
GC )Zelda Twilight princes
Wii u) Zelda Bread of the wild
Nintendo 64: 4MB of ram; 500MB of bandwidth; 100,000 Polygons Per Second
Nintendo Gamecube: 24MB ram; 2.6GB of bandwidth; 12,000,000 PPS
Nintendo Wii: 88MB ram; 3.9GB of bandwidth; 500,000,000 PPS
Nintendo Wii U: 2GB ram; 563.9GB of bandwidth
Could not find any liable source o polygon count for the wii u, estimating around 1 billion PPS.
Daily reminder that the Wii is the same thing as the gamecube
I was surprised at how much the wii improved a lot of series. While the Wii's resolution of 480p was the same as The gamecube (technically, if you account for progressive scan) but the detail in Wii games is a lot better IMO. Of course Wii U games are the best looking.
+Tyler Petty and most of Wii games had 60 fps and widescreen support.
Hyrule Warriors just may be the reason for me to buy a Wii U
3:33 Wait for it... wait for it.... "hi I'm Daisy!"
More like, " Hi I'm crazy" XD
its not fair to do a graphics comparison video over consoles when the quality of the video is bad like this is. who agrees?
i mean the only thing about this video that actually is in HD is the screen overlays you did with the png images and the text. but the actual video footage sucks.
Why didnt you use twilight princess for graphics instead of the cell shaded windwaker?
Mario Kart Double Dash, the best one...!! :D
