Hi Pirrie.....Im sure I"ve not spelt your name right, but this is how I hear it, please correct me. Thanks for another fun, inspiring chatty Podcast. I just loved the image of the three of you sitting in the car, outside a wool shop no less, waiting to be rescued, how funny and what fun!! Your knits are just gorgeous I especially love the colours and colour work on the Caitlin Hunter, jumper.....delicious! The Dino jumper for you daughter doesn't look child like at all. I think the colours are great! That's a lot of knitting for 6 weeks! That said, I couldn't believe it was 6 weeks since your last podcast, it feels like 3 weeks ago....I swear the world is spinning faster on its axis! Thank you again.

I heard you say you were nearly out of yarn and that green wool was in your stash. Are you saying you don’t have much yarn in your stash? I wish I had that problem! When I first started knitting, I purchased so many single skeins because of their beautiful colors but have no idea what to make with them. Lesson learned, but now I’m stuck with all this yarn and no plans for it!! 😂

@@lynnesmith6827 I got very close to using up all my stash! The last large quantity I had was the very special green singles & suri alpaca from The Camel’s Yarn that I bought from East Anglian Yarn Festival earlier this year. I probably only had about another 100g in random leftovers! But then I went mad at Drops Sale! I currently have just over 5kg of yarn in my stash. Mostly in sweater quantities. Makes me very happy! I have ideas for most of it.
I was mostly a monogamous knitter until around Easter time this year and I loved not having a huge stash. But since Easter, I’ve just been casting on everything whenever I fancy it and love having yarn ready to cast on with in my stash. I mostly have 4-ply and few matching mohairs and couple of DK sweater quantities too. I’m so excited about all of it!
My yarn buying tends to be quite sporadic, I knit everything up and then buy a whole lot of new yarn. When I went to Yarndale with a friend couple of years ago, I had to borrow yarn from her because I ran out on the train there! I had used up the last bit of my stash on a pair of toe up socks! Xx

i ABSOLUTELY loved that you were dead against a swancho and then you made one and you love it the most of all your knits hahahahahaha! that's hilarious and it does look fabulous. NO way with changing the colours of the dino sweater. The colours aren't childish colours. I love them.

Hi I’m just messaging on my sons phone, I’m subscribed on the telly😊.I love the Swoncho… I bought your exact wool but I’m unsure how you mixed the tweed in…I’m getting in a tangle! Did you use 2 balls of tweed ..one for each colour or did you just pass it from one colour to the next? I have knitted 1 colour work in past a lopapeysa 1 hand continental, 1 hand English but I’m not a very experienced knitter. I’m desperate to get on with Swoncho but getting in a tangle. Hope it’s ok to ask, love your videos .Moominmama73 x

@@formula_tom hi, thank you for getting in touch! I had two balls of “make it tweed on the go, one to go either the main colour and the other to go with the contrast colour. I kept them apart at all times, main colour with the tweed next to me on the sofa on the left and the contrast colour to my right and that worked well for me. The only problem I had was when I tried to frog it after knitting it too long. Make it tweed had “velcroed” every stitch and I had to cut the extra fabric off. It just wouldn’t unravel! I’m knitting a cabled cardigan with make it tweed and Drops Daisy at the moment and I haven’t enjoyed it as much! The whole process has felt very sticky. But I’m thinking it might be the humid weather we’ve been having rather than the yarns! I should’ve waited few weeks when it’s cooled down I think! Xx

Moi! 13:00 maybe you could try treating the cardigan with wool wax to make it softer? I don't know how easy it is to find pure wool wax in the UK, though 🫣 you disolve a spoon of wool wax in warm water and add a splash of dish soap, then soak it over night.

@@margaretleake9361 oh my goodness, I went completely wild in the sale 🙈
I tend to buy 14x50g balls of DK (most I’ve ever used for a jumper), or 8x50g balls of 4ply or 6x25g of mohair. I’ve found that those quantities normally work for a solid colour sweater. But I’ve gone rogue and started knitting colourwork and I feel that I’ve completely messed up my system as I’ve dipped into sweater quantities… I keep my stash uptodate on Ravelry and find it easy to use and easy to look at patterns to hat I have enough yarn for. www.ravelry.com/people/WithLoveFromLN1/stash
