Kaci, I love your channel and adore your warm, “welcome to my home and farm and let’s have a wonderful conversation about what I’ve been up to” podcast. It’s just wonderful and so soothing for my knitting and spinning soul on an otherwise stressful day. The one and only thing that gets me is, when you’re working on a pattern by Amy Christoffers, her last name is pronounced like “Christopher’s” or CHRIS-tuh-furs. Just an FYI, if you ever meet her. Other than that, you are doing a great job. Love the new chapter designations in each episode. I know how long an episode can take to edit, so kudos for adding those! Thanks again for the great podcasts!
Oh thank you! I did not know that! I chat to her some and she has never told me how to say it 😆 the spelling looks like it should be the other way around. Thanks for letting me know
@@YoungfolkKnits you’re most welcome. I only know because The Knit Girllls also pronounced it the “first” way, too, then they had her as a guest at SSK (Super Summer Knit-Together, their annual retreat), and she corrected them there in person. Once again, thanks for your wonderful podcast and all your amazing editing work! You rock!
I’m loving all the cardigan content at the moment! I’m currently knitting the Winter’s Beach cardi, it’s so much fun to knit and I cannot wait to wear it!! ❤
I’m a quilter and I love that cardigan ! I’m knitting my daughter the Turtle Dove Cardigan and a pair of socks. Then I’m casting on a sweater for myself. I have several things I want to do and your giving me more ideas lol
I think Fall starts when pre-season football starts, but I'm an (old) band kid (football support) and that influences my thoughts. lol I come from very hot west TX, and fall always started when the evenings got the slightest bit cooler (than the 110F). That serger class on Craftsy is awesome, and one of my other unexpected sewing favorites is "The Sewer's Toolbox: Presser Feet & Needles". I had no idea there were so many feet for my machine, and so many cool things to do with them!
ahhhh I LOVE you! I love these project plans! I gasped at all of them! haha we have very similar tastes in color. absolutely GORGEOUS color combos and outfit plans - I can't wait to see them come to life!
Thank you for sharing your fall knitting plans Kaci. It’s always so much fun to see and hear about your makes. I too love cardigans. I find that I wear them year round and they are just easier to fit into my life. I just finished the Sticks & Stones V-Neck cardigan and have plans for (more) Chestnut Cardigans for this coming season. And I just ordered yarn for a striped pullover that I’m really excited about. 😊 See you next time.
I’m a fan of Fall too, the leaves, the spices in my tea (chai fanatic here!) and cozy knits. I have knit cardigans but not for myself yet. That may be a January project. This Fall will have one new sweater cast on, WIP finishing, a couple of colourwork hot water bottle covers and a wee chicken for my wee niece. It’s a full schedule so I am mapping my time out.
Ohhh yeah, I ❤ my Ginny. I made mine oversized and used worsted woolen yarn that was gifted to me from Ireland. I wear it every single day in the Fall, Winter and Spring. Great pattern, as always from Andrea Mowry. I’ve been thinking of making one a bit smaller. 😀
Haha there's fresh snow on the mountaintops around my home right now! We are firmly in fall, and snow is maybe another month away. We should be buried by Halloween. :)
That’s a lovely selection! I’m also looking at the Pauline Cardigan. But September cast ons are the Traveler’s Hoodie (not cropped) and Framed. Very excited to start Framed. And the hood on the Traveler will be so nice this winter, as sometimes my head gets cold, even indoors. I have a lot of cardigans, so this autumn will be pullovers, and a Little Elsa for my granddaughter, and a jelly roll for my Grandson.
Great video. I have started the Quilt Block Mosaic for the KAL. Getting ready to start a KAL with Yarn Alchemy in NWA the Frame your Face from Andre Mowry. Then a Gilmore Girl KAL. I’m loving the mosaic color work. It goes so fast.
Great to see all your plans. I'm in a cardigan phase too, just ordered yarn for the Woodpecker vest and Dusk Cardigan by Lotta Lothgren, you might like those too!
I am in total cardigan mode at the moment, I think the Book Club really set things off! I'm planning the Tessellated for the mosaic KAL and the Deep Winter coat from Wool and Pine after.
That scarf is gorgeous. The colors you are using are definitely my jam! I would have picked all of them. Not a bad choice of any of the skeins! Love your podcast.
Our climate (8b) in coastal NC is similar to yours. I get far more wear with plant based summer knits. I knit a lot of wooly sweaters that got very little wear until I realized they are worn only once or twice during our brief winters.
Those are all lovely ideas and inspiration. I am trying to figure out someway to use the new color called strawberry from Spincycle. Not sure where that will fit in with my fall knitting plans, but I went ahead and asked Yarn Kandy and Little Rock to get me three skeins. I’m also for sure going to make the no-frills cardigan by petite knit. A pretty new RUclipsr named Ali makes everything has inspired me on that. Hers was kind of a mustard yellow, but she’s a different skin tone and hair color than me so I don’t think the yellow would look good on me, but I love the boldness of that color - so I think I’m going with, knitting for olive’s quince merino and snowflake mohair. I’m very excited about that project but that will also be a 6 month knit!!! Happy almost PSL season! 😂
Love hearing all about your plans & so excited about your most recent KAL. I set aside my Pressed Flowers shawl last winter so this is a great motivator to finish that one up. I'm not sure of end date on mosaic KAL but will at least try to get Daft Days cardi cast on as well. Rebecca is one of my favorites too and I've had that pattern for a while.
I'm also planning to knit the bookclub cardigan. Right now I'm working on the same designer's Alvar sweater. I already know it's going to be my go to sweater this winter, it's simple but has a really pretty guernsey pattern all over. 10/10 recommend.

I fell in love with that Beatrix cardigan!! I will be looking at it, too. Now, confession. I jumped the start date on my Paulie Cardigan for the KAL. 🥰 I was between projects and didn’t want to start anything else! Phew, I feel better now! 😂😂😂 And now I will post it on Instagram. 😊
Loved seeing all of your plans, and as always trying very hard to not be too influenced given my recent yarn buying spree. 😅 Worked on the double knit button band on my Book Club Cardigan while I watched! PS…the reason why you can get a worsted gauge is because Mota is woolen spun and therefore there is more air and the weight to yardage makes so it’s classified as a DK. Knit at a DK weight, it’s going to be a lot more dense, but in my opinion knitting it at a worsted weight is going to allow the fabric to really bloom and show the lovely qualities of the yarn. Hopefully people don’t come for me too. 😂 ❤ Mia

Love taking some time to listen to your podcast while getting some knitting in - thank you!! You mentioned you had your colors done. Do you mind sharing where you did that?
I’m slowly getting into fall knitting, it still feels too hot. I’m going to knit Thegither Cowl pattern for the KAL, I think it will get me in the spirit.
Hi Kaci! I know your husband is a professional musician and I love the clip in your intro where you’re playing the piano. I’ve always loved your intro song and am wondering if you or your husband are playing or wrote that song? It’s beautiful.
Another wonderful podcast. Was wondering if you could tell me or even in your next podcast regarding sewing …. How much fabric do you order for a dress or skirt? Thank you ❤
Working on the Beatrix cardigan right now! It’s actually (at least in my version) a lighter weight fabric than I expected! The textured stitch actually seems to make it a little “holier” than I expected pre-blocking. Also I’m sure the stitch will get annoying eventually, but so far it’s not too bad, I just joined for the body :)
I started my fall knitting already even though we don't have proper fall weather here until November. I started 1 summer top this summer and really didn't enjoy knitting it, so after a WHILE of no progress decided to leave it undone. maybe next year. I'm knitting the Bibliohile (the og version - fingering weight) with a wool-silk blend so hopefully I'll be able to wear it a little earlier. I made the Ginny Cardigan lst year - it was so much fun and it's one of my most worn makes! you can throw it on basically anything and feel well dressed :) can I ask about the blue cardigan you're wearing? I'm looking for a good lighter weight cardigan pattern and this seems perfect (and the color is stunning!)
I have an urgent question for anyone out there that maybe so inclined to steer me correctly. I am hoping to join the Knit along, I am a fairly new knitter and would like to do the "trove" by Emma Ducher. Her pattern does not say "Mosaic" however does say "slip stitches". Would anyone be able to advise if this is indeed Mosaic? Thank you!
Fall is an ephemeral thing here in Central Texas. You can catch it for maybe two weeks (not always consecutive days) in October and/or November. Summer is about 9 months long, so I'll still be making summer knits.

Which is still not very cold. I'm going to be knitting so many cardigans this fall and winter! I get too hot for sweaters. And I love purling.
I have already started my Fall/Winter knitting. I was wondering what happened with your plans to create a curated palette of knits for a family photo. I seem to remember you started a cardigan for your husband but don't remember much conversation about those projects in a while. Did I miss it?
This is an interesting fact. Wool and linen have a high frequency but when you wear them together it cancels them both out. 5000 mHz Wool and Linen both have a signature of 5000 mHz! That amazing naturally created feature of the fabrics will also give energy to your body as you wear it. It is important however to not wear linen and wool together, however, as the frequencies in both of the linen and wool fibres run in opposite current directions.
🌸 I don’t mind the ads and will only skip if it’s over 5 min. I don’t even mind if the content creator is promoting something, Kaci seems to promote only things she enjoys so I trust her. I can’t afford to join everyone’s Patreon so I don’t join any feel the least I can do is watch the ads so they make something. JMHO. Beautiful cardigans! 🌸🌼🌻
4 1/2 minutes of intro and ads is just... too much. Yes I can (and do) routinely start at minute 5 when I click on this channel, but I feel it's time to let the content creator know.
I think it’s helpful to keep in mind that folks are creating content for us to consume for free! They deserve to get paid for it. If all I need to do to skip it is click forward, that’s a small price to pay for free content.
Finally someone said it. I admit I've been less and less excited to watch Kaci's latest podcasts as there's so much sponsorship going on. Not just the advertised sponsors, but a lot of yarn is being given for projects too.... it's turning the channel more into a job than a hobby and it kinda ruins the vibe.
@@eleanorpans1456Not for free. We watch adverts, some people have youtube premium, and both of those are revenue streams for creators. Unfortunately when a hobby channel starts doing more sponsorships, it starts to erode the original joy of that hobby, and viewers can feel like it's turning more into a job for them...which can kill the enthusiasm of the content creator tbh

It is important however to not wear linen and wool together, however, as the frequencies in both of the linen and wool fibres run in opposite current directions.
Very interesting 🧐
@@pollogmoody5746 what is the frequency of yarn? How do you measure it? Is there scientific evidence for this?
What yarn did you use for the cardigan you are wearing?:)
I used Madelinetosh dk!
Knitting the Raspberry Sweater by Sisu Knitwear and will test Knit Beth McDonald Stone's new vest.
Nice!!! Great plans!
I appreciate that thank you so much
Huh, I thought you might ass the Artus Shawl by Moonstruck Knits into your possible mosaic mal
I love that shawl! Such a beautiful pattern
❤️🌈
Def docs.
😎
Thanks for input. I have added chapters so hopefully you can skip to the good part
@@eleanorpans1456thanks for the kind words ❤
