Just finished this build 2 days ago. It was my first ever Lego set and I finished it in about 11-1/2 hours over 3 days. I really enjoyed it. My finger tips did hurt for some time. The only parts of the build that I had difficulty with was towards the end, trying to mate the long corrugated pipes with the attachment pieces, and I just couldn't get the fit snug, damaging one of the pipes in the process. I have ordered extra parts to practice in order to fix it. Other than that, I am impressed by the kit quality, clarity of the instructions, and the nice looks.
LOL I bought it because I didn't know what the fuzz was about with Lego, and it was on sale, so I got it at a good price. I did a time lapse video of the build. I have decided that I like Lego, and have since fitted the Porsche with a light set. I then bought my second Lego set, the Technic Liebherr Excavator, also with a light set. That will be my Christmas project.
Just completed this set. Enjoyed the build, experienced a few challenging moments along the way. On the back spoiler, the two square pieces, one on each side. These pieces only click on, not sturdy. Kept falling off whilst I attended building other sections. The two rear black tubes which connects to the exhaust. Tubes have to be connected to blue pins, which could become frustrating to get into the tube ends. Overall a wonderful build, I am a technics fan. Well worth the investment.
The answer for why Lego doesn't do the little pins in other colors is that there are two colors for each pin: one is for smooth one and other for not smooth one. So if they would start to do the color of each pin as the color of the place that the pin is into it, you couldn't distinguish betweet the two ones.
Lego used to throw in black long pins. That is nothing they have to create hahahh, I own a couple of old technic sets e.g. the 8043 that still uses some of them. But ever since like 7-8 years I guess they just removed them to make it "easier" to build and to see in the instructions
I think you missed the point about the blue pins. It’s intentional and I think it makes the car look much more “Technic” rather than just Lego System. It really sets it apart and I love it.
Just picked up this set and am currently building it (mainly because I heard a rumor that it was going to be retired - not sure if it's true or not). Primarily a Technic guy and I have to say, that this set is pretty nice. I usually go in for the more complex builds but this was a fun set to put together. Nice review and I hope you do more Technic reviews.
also, one bad thing is that the bags aren't numbered so you have to open all of them and if you don't sort them you will have around those lego pieces for each step but not a huge problem you can find the pieces in 40 seconds or so even though there are more pieces to go through
Yeah this set, I'm surprised it isnt branded as one of the 18+ sets tbh, certainly too complicated for a 10 year old. Either way 8 hours over 2 days it was a good build. However 1 complaint is that the bags of parts inside the box were horrifically unorganised. You had to search a long time for pieces sometimes.
I recently bought this set off of Amazon it also came with lights for the headlights and tail lights, only problem is the bags aren't numbered so I had to sift through each bag for the pieces I needed lol
Just Finished This!!! Crazy amazing too!!! I suffered thru all the stickers( except those lame ones on the roof) and it was sooo worth it! LOVE LEGO LOTS‼️
Its a nice size set that one. I was going to get that blue rc Lego car with frunt weal tracking s. I luv the moveing part s that can rig up motor to to run car thru controler. .
Just built this a couple weeks ago. More of a pain than the Lambo. Never again will I buy a set without numbered poly bags. Don’t have the space to dump them all out.
Lego would not re-paint the blue colored connectors cause maybe in some way the 2 colors would both would end up in a future set for the beginners this may confuse them and put in the wrong colored connectors in but it's not really a thing to mess up on unless your colorblind so I have no idea
I just came into that segment @6:59 regarding those blue pins.. how many are there on the outside/apparent spot in order to troubleshoot that problem before hand? Thanks in advance
These are amazing and I'm a "car guy" but just don't go with any sets I typically buy. My wallet doesn't really need another theme set to invest in... I'm kinda tempted.
considering the price and size i say yes because its 1/9 scale (Bugatti, lambo, and porsche 911 gt3rs r 1/8 scale)and only 150$(Bugatti and lambo are like $350+) maybe not as much features but it's 150$ and there are some cool alternative builds like and f1 car on rebrickable.com, recommend you go there
The blue connectors are a huge problem in many technic sets. Not so much in the Bugatti since it blends in with the blue, but on the Lamborghini, the blue connectors stick out a lot and don’t go with the green at all. Whenever I have people over and they look at my Lambo, that’s what they always notice.
I love Technic and I have this set, but it made me start thinking, what is the point of it being so big. I liked it, but the size of the finished car for some reason threw me off. And it’s for this reason that I didn’t buy the car hauler with the Camaro. Yet.
I’m curious about why is this set for 10+ age. The other technic sets which include also much pieces as this one and for 18+ what’s the difference between them?
Interesting video as I was given this Lego as a gift and am about to begin the build. One minor rant for you: the name of the car company is NOT pronounced Porsch; it's pronounced PorschA, short A sound like the word About. Otherwise, good video.
I personally only buy the small technic sets. It's not because I don't have the money, but it's just SO annoying to build with on a large scale over a large period of time.
Only bad points: wheels too small, and wheel design is too simple. The orange GT3 has his own unique wheels, i wonder why they didn't use those on this model.. second way too many stickers. Last the ride height is wat too high to look proper. Overall, its sits nicely besides the Chiron and the Sian on my shelve )))
idk, i feel negative towards this set. whenever i look at it, it doesn't feel modern and updated compared to the Lamborghini, Bugatti and Ferrari. Theres too many stickers, the interior is old and basic, the colour choice is bad and so many of the bits of the set are not covered up. The main point of these sets is to look as realistic as possible. i prefer the orange Porsche.

These giant cars are the best looking Technic sets. 👍

LEGO actually used to make those 3l blue pins in black but unfortunately discontinued that pin in black.
I was about to say, I remember having hundreds of them back in the 90s/00s - but discontinuation would make sense.
I love the blue pins, it gives the car more color tho.
The blue pins are part of the Technic line that gives it the "made by " look. I like them and wouldnt change them to black ones.
The answer for why Lego doesn't do the little pins in other colors is that there are two colors for each pin: one is for smooth one and other for not smooth one. I built this set in IRL it is a very good set I recommend getting it
Just finished this magnificent set, took me 9h 30 minutes. Completed in 1 day, few small breaks. My back is killing me.
🤣😂

Really wish the bags were numbered
Does everyone have this? At first I thought my set was defective but it seems Lego just chose not to number them?
@@kindofagod7 nope they aren’t number so it makes it a bit harder
@chadhunt5584 well wish me luck literally sitting in front of the bags right now abt to start lol

A black belt technic builder to this guy: First time? 😏
WTF?
Anyone else think the wheels are awkwardly small on the RSR?
I think the problem is that the suspension is way to tall
it’s because when lego designed it they literally had to put a actual WORKING suspension! That’s why it’s so tall
I till think the headlights looks weird
I just finished it and it is awesome!!
I like this set
I love your videos!!!!
For me blue parts are fine I have no problem with those.

slap a little black paint on those blue pegs to clean up that issue

I wish the headlights and wheels were the same as the GT3 set but this is still so sick. Definitely gotta pick this up

greentealatte No, it does not. I just left the parts in the bags for a less messy work area.
You should put it next to the speed champions one for scaling.
I have the other technic porsche and it's my best set I own!
James G I love it!
Great looking car 😀👍
Wish it was rear engine but non than less an awesome piece

They're so much fun to build and it's pretty detailed in terms of the mechanical moving parts, it'll forsure satisfy any car guy
Do you recommend buying the set?
I wouldn’t, I would probably go for the lambo or Bugatti
considering the price and size i say yes because its 1/9 scale (Bugatti, lambo, and porsche 911 gt3rs r 1/8 scale)and only 150$(Bugatti and lambo are like $350+) maybe not as much features but it's 150$ and there are some cool alternative builds like and f1 car on rebrickable.com, recommend you go there
also some might say go with the Porsche gt3 rs but i say no because its a retired product on lego.com so its super expensive everywhere else
keep in mind the bags aren't numbered but i think Lego said they did that to give the builders an extra challenge
@@reyesdavid959 I personally enjoy the challenge, but that doesn't explain why they didn't raise the age up past 10!
Have this set waiting at home
Those blue pins are colour locked by Lego so will always be blue.
I got the dodge charger. Im 2 hours in and not even half way done. But i wanna buy this set next !
5:20 there called banana gears btw

Whenever I have people over and they look at my Lambo, that’s what they always notice.
I color mine with a sharpie
They made them in black, white, blue and tan
I feel like Lego could have made the interior a bit cleaner with more space
lego will probably never change the blue pieces to black because they will be too hard to tell apart from the other black tiny connector piece
I got that on Lazada (my country's online shop) for only $18
I love Technic and I have this set, but it made me start thinking, what is the point of it being so big. I liked it, but the size of the finished car for some reason threw me off. And it’s for this reason that I didn’t buy the car hauler with the Camaro. Yet.
Yeah sort of agree, it’s a little too big.
The space needed to display a technic set is too damn high. I prefer the Speed Champs Porsche RSR, same amount of stickers but 1/20 the size 👍
I have both next to each other. Looks fantastic!
infamousKONVICT a friend of mine hung his on his wall. It looks awesome!
Do you think you will be getting the Ducati, corvette, or doms Dodge Charger
Back ordered this one a couple weeks ago. Still waiting for it to get new stock so they can finally ship it out to me.
The blue piece you talked about is hard to find in black I have a a few, I use them the way you talked about how they should be colored correctly
Idk if I missed something but I have like 7 black pins left
It exists in black but they are alot less common, also there litterly in the new lambo set
I’m curious about why is this set for 10+ age. The other technic sets which include also much pieces as this one and for 18+ what’s the difference between them?
Just completed the set and it doesn’t move the back wheels move opposite ways. 😢

The shape of the headlights looks a bit too strange. I didn't end up getting this set.

Hi Bricksie I’m thinking of buying this set but what do you think about the v22 osprey set being canceled
The front bumper I am struggling with because when I try to click in the two black parts in they always pop and I don’t know why
which do u guy prefer? 911 RSR or the ferrari 488 gte to build
Lego does not create the pins in black for this model because technic sets are all about, well, tech, they are not specifically made for esthetics :-)
the thing that annoys me the most is that the set number is so close to being 42069, and they had to ruin it
Just bought it for 91€. Gonna come in at the 8 of september cause amazon
I actually built this car a while ago and I just wanna see someone talk about the features

Porsche is pronounced Poor-sha, btw. In German, the "e" is pronounced like an "a"

I personally only buy the small technic sets. It's not because I don't have the money, but it's just SO annoying to build with on a large scale over a large period of time.
If you like challenges then technic because they offer more mechanics and things that do stuff
I gotta ask, is that 1:6 scale or 1:8??
Did you just get it?
Are those stickers or is the livery printed?
Stickers, i hate them.
