LEGO Technic 42096 Porsche 911 RSR review - cheaper 42056 Porsche or dressed up 42077 Rally Car?

- Unboxing, speed build and detailed review about the LEGO Technic 42096 Porsche 911 RSR. I compare it to the LEGO Technic 42056 Porsche 911 GT3 RS and the 42077 Rally Car to see which one is more similar to this new race car.

Great video! When I clicked I had no idea how much info and details you would share. Next level!
I think a small part of the the extra length compared to 42077, despite the same wheelbase, is that 42077 is a rally hatchback (rally cars being made short/wide/squat), where as this new 42096 is a sports/saloon style car which tend to be a little longer (saloons being longer and more narrow). Though I do agree that there's a bit of disproportionate added length in the new set.
AKS Don't you mean coupe?
I was waiting for it ...
And it's awesome !!
(The Porsche AND your video)
Please motorise it! Like you said, this is very ideal for that
Your vids are very professionally done and your opinions are accurate well and greatly appreciated!
Just bought this for me and my Dad to build on Christmas day, looks great!
Nice comparison to the real thing. Still preferred the older brother though. It had more of a special feel to it. Even at the box.
That’s why it is more expensive
I noticed about the Porsche 911 RSR reveal trailer(which was in 2016) and it was so sick!!!
3.5 hours? It's taken me more than a week at about 2 hours a night. I just finished the side panels. You must be a beast at building these. I am adding a light kit to my build.
I have some experience...:)
RacingBrick “ some”? I think you meant a lot
I finished in 8 hours
Which Track did you use for the background? Love it!
Wow, best video review of this set so far
Yeah moto
Isjs
I know for sure you can put electric motors in this model so at this point I am happy that it seats so high when you add battery pack and motors it will look just fine, it's a shame that white panels go yellowish after time (not a long time) I would say with ouf electric motors is more of the display than play model
Nice review. I was considering buying this as I built the Porsche RS and Bugatti. I agree with your comments on the proportions. Looks like I may drop the body a pin hole and adjust the nose a bit If I do buy. I had to modify The RS some for a better look, so I'll expect the same here. I might work on the interior some also. Given the price point, seems a reasonable effort. I might wait to see if they adjust stickers in next production run though.
Hey just completed the 2018 Porsche this looks less complicated to build but does not look as good in my opinion.
I like it more than the orange one because it doesn't have the gap in the hood.
I hope the 2019 2h Flagship will design by MK, for me he's the Construction Technic Man
Proportion seems to be off, body looks a bit short, but still need this before new year!!!
great review, great to point out the wheelbase and disproportional nose, hadn't really noticed that.. And now I have , I do have to say it looks bad
I liked the build. It's not as detailed as the Porsche 911 GT3 RS, I'm sure, but it's on par with the Peugeot 9X8, and I like the details of the Porsche 911 RSR better. Thanks for the video!
The GT3 RS is part of the 1/8 scale series which consists of large models with extra details
Nice review! Keep up the good work. :)
Köszi :)
That was my biggest complaint about this set too: the wheels are too small.
shoua7 Totally agree
Could make a video of the suspension mod for the RSR? Or if u have one send a link. Thanks. Great channel!
Why are the headlights on this set so bulky? They are larger than the old model, which was bigger in scale. Also, they don't look anything like the ones on the real car (4:04), and make the car look like a frog.
42096 is the set that alters my 42056 to a RSR. Can't wait to break my brains onhow to make it fit and then motorising it
what's the song in the background?
i got this after watching this and was like oh 4h build time? ok, so you're a pro so it may take me like 10h, plus a friend makes it maybe 6h? Took me almost 20h to build the damn thing. But i can safely say, it was a $150 well spent.
Really? It took me maybe 5 or 6 hours!
Curious how you separated or organized your pieces before build. Planning to sort out since it was no number bags. Others say just dump everything and go from there. I like to be organized lol
i built this as my first and what i did was separate them by size AND color it helped 10x more than just color coding
Technics has my attention, nothing so far makes me want to invest money into this area of lego. We'll see what the future brings for this series
I buy it because I have the other Porsche and the Bugatti and I want to motorize it. Sorry for bad English I am from Germany
Lol
Honnan szerezted meg?
This or the orange GT3 RS for first purchase ?
b model of the tracked racer please
I have this set and I really love it. I think the best part is the suspention.
I build like a pro on it. My dad wants to buy cheaper stuff so he bought me this. I'm still 9 but still can build it up.
It took me more than 3 hours. It took me 3 days to build it. My dad sometime let me have a break.
Wow. That sounds like child labour. Lol
It took me 8 hours
Took me 4 hors oop
honnan szerezted? Amúgy jó lett a videó.
you will motorize it I know you will ;)
I will consider buying this only if someone comes up with a decent motorized version
If you look at Sariel's (lego youtuber) review for the same, he shows the underbody of the car and says that it has plenty of space to motorize it, you can look at that frame and think about motorizing it.
This is like getting regular m&ms and getting mad there weren’t peanut m&ms
this set took me 16 hrs ( 3 days ) to make
Hi!
Your videos is my favourites!
In the future i want to be like you
Thank you, that's really nice of you :) Keep creating videos and you'll become better and better!
RacingBrick thanks, I will try 👍
The 911 RSR was the first 911 with the motor between the axels
Yup - that's because it's made on the Cayman chassis, not the 911 one. True fact.
It’s mid engined
Cool
Dimensions??
whats the name of this cool music i want to find it pls
Ya was wondering the same thing. Re-watching now just to listen to the music.
Is there a confirmed release date for this set?
It is available at some retailers already, depending on your country. As far as I know Lego will sell it online from Dec 26th in Europe and Jan 1st in the US but you can check your local site at shop.lego.com
Boi jan 1
Nice review, but if this is a comparison to the 42056 set, you seem to have missed out the most important detail from my opinion. The lack of the incredible 4 speed sequential paddle shift in the larger set. I know you can't see the gearbox or the engine turning, and it is a difficult set to motorise, so some might say that it is hard to appreciate, and an irrelevant function of that model. But just knowing that it is built into the model makes me feel all wobbly when I look at it. Thanks for the review.
It is not a comparison, rather a demonstration where does the new model fit in the lineup between the 2 others. Btw the gearbox in 42056 is far from being flawless, it has quite a few issues out of the box.
@@RacingBrick Fair enough, and it certainly wasn't a criticism of your review. With regard to the 42056 gearbox, you're absolutely right, and it does take some fettling. Doesn't help that 4 of the gears were shown in the wrong place on the instructions either! But that's the wonder of Lego - anything can be fixed. Happy Christmas.
@@BigFatRoundCuddlyTed absolutely right, the Pimp up my Porsche project did wonders with it :) Merry Xmas!
What bgm here?
♥️
can i turbo charge it though?
You can turbocharge anything :)
Well I've found a cheron substitute till I get a job LOL
Chiron?
Chiron?
Im hoping they make another collectors set like the bugatti and porsche... Or even like the ferrari F40
I hope that the next one is the laferrari
Since they butchered the lower cost Corvette, maybe there's a proper full sized one in the works of the new C8 (mid engined) that they are sitting on? I've love to see a full sized version of like a F14 or F18. The other IP they have is Ford/Mustang, so that's another possibility, maybe a full sized GT.
@@rubenlay610 saaaame though! Or even a pagani
@@JeremyKeith1 that would be interesting i feel the 2010 ford gt would have been a good pick for a smaller set
I have this car I bought it a while ago like 7 hours ago and I am still building it how is it 3 hours whattt
i know right
Te vagy a legeslegjobb
i felt like you just bashed it to the ground by all of the non good things
Coool
3:50 what is this software

I wonder when lego is gonna produce a real boxer engine, not a flat-6 engine, for porsche models.
Will you upload 42094 today?
Working on it right now, will publish tomorrow
@@RacingBrick oh okay, been waiting for it for so long to see it on a video and not on pics only
The pull backs are lame the decent lego technic sets ate the Porsche tracked racer, Corvette and dozer
@@LXW-Arts yea, ill definitely get the tracked loader and maybe corvette. I would buy the rc car but i just bought 42065 like 3-4 months ago
@@RacingBrick Great! I'm most excited for that (94) and Stunt Racer (95)!
I have that raily car
What about the B model
There's no official one
I have a 42077.
42093 Corvette ZR1: "i´m the ugliest model lego ever build!"
42096 Porsche RSR: "Hold my beer..."
I actually like the Porsche
WTF? 42096 is like top 10 ever.
That is quite harsh. I really like it myself.
It's actually really good.
OMG 3:20 look how long the nose is!
Nathan Zari Squidward?
@@mehere219 Yes Squidie
4:57 that “hole” is a spot for arodynamics from the widebody kit that the Porsche RSR has in real life
Just as you can see demonstrated in the video :)
RacingBrick yep :)
All you have to do is lower the car
Music?
Yes, there is music
@@RacingBrick but what is the name? I wanna listen to it not from your video.
@@RacingBrick just kidding. If I don't find it I will give you more views.
@@Max_Matrix you know if you ask it in a civilised way I give you the answer - ruclips.net/video/_hzuKQ9uC9Y/видео.html
I build the rally car of lego
It's not a wiper!!!
I made it myself and im 10
Für mich sieht es leider so aus, wie Lego es seid langem macht, Billig, wenig Teile und Teuer und sieht unfertig aus.
