    Just a suggestion, you should base the number of points given in each category on how important the category is. For example, having suspension and door category give the same number of points as "one hand grab" is crazy. Only reason Ferrari got last was due to the convertible functionality, but I see the convertible function as a bigger plus than the one hand grab a minus. I get it is something to take into consideration, but it's not as important as other categories. I still really appreciate the comparison and the dedication to get these videos out so quickly.

    • @alexnunes

      Good suggestion, I appreciate that. There's a chance it could have moved the positions a bit.

    • @anujmchitale
      @anujmchitale 3 месяца назад

      The importance of a category is subjective. Hence I feel it's correct to keep the same weightage for every category.

    • @nicholasborrelli7544
      @nicholasborrelli7544 3 месяца назад +3

      @@anujmchitaleI disagree. The majority of people would have the same thoughts about the importance ratings. For example most people would agree that one handed grabbing is far less important than realistic looks. Especially since with sets like this they get built and displayed. And I dunno about you but I'm not ever grabbing my $450 Lego set with one goddamn hand lol.

    • @anujmchitale
      @anujmchitale 3 месяца назад +1

      @@nicholasborrelli7544 For me personally, many of the points he mentioned aren't points at all. I only have the Lamborghini Sian out of these. And yet the "functional" gearboxes are an absolute waste of space, parts and money. Would rather like motorised openable doors, hood, ride height etc.
      Some people may agree with my choice. The majority may not.
      But if the points weightage is to be different, then wouldn't you think there would be a disagreement in the weightage itself. One may think point ABC is only 0.5 the weight. Others may think it's 0.7
      Where does this end?
      Rather than reviewing the sets, the person would have to review the weightage system first. 😬
      Hence a futile effort in my opinion.

    On the suspension: the Bugatti and porsche use identical suspension setups, but the Bugatti is much heavier.
    Lego somewhat fixed the issue in the Lamborghini by using leverage to shorten the suspension travel.
    The Mclaren and ferrari, of course, use harder springs than the previous sets.

    The Bugatti needs a special key to unlock its high topspeed capability. It changes a few specifics among which the rear wing. You need to insert the key during stand still. So that's likely why they went with the key so that's actually cool. Or it's Lego being lazy. Take your pick 😊

  • @hanstolhuisen
    @hanstolhuisen 2 месяца назад +3

    My list.
    1. Porsche
    2. McLaren
    3. Ferrari and Lamborghini
    5. Bugatti
    A little explanation:
    The Porsche was the first of the "big 1:8 series" and that counts.
    Also: it was the most easy to mod.
    Plus the guys from HispaBricks made the top detachable from the chassis.
    I was totally "in" to this model!
    To this day it still makes me so happy to look at it.
    The McLaren kinda has it all: The fantastic building experience,
    The "look and feel" and fine working fuctions. I really like the color.
    The doors are brilliant.
    And don't get me started on the gearbox: It's a little marvel.
    The Ferrari helped me a great deal when I was recovering from cancer. It restored my buldingconcentration en kept me active.
    I was not too happy that it shared the gear box with the Lamboghini
    I was not so happy with the "brickbuild" solutions on the front and rear either.
    But the total experience was a fine one.
    The Lamborghini restored my faith in Lego again because I didn't like the Bugatti at all...
    I really enjoyed the doors and its "push" funtions and easy to pick up hood.
    But the color issues with this set was kind of a horror.
    The Bugatti was a "little shop of horrors" for me.
    I was totally disappointed when i build this.
    Things i didn't like were: the key function, the "marriage". the doors, and probably everything else.
    Well maybe i liked the rear.... (Okay, also not..)
    Maybe my expectations were to high of it, but still.
    I still call this a "monday-morning-design".
    Well Here you go.
    That's my opinion.

      @TheDutchDinooo Месяц назад +1

      Dang so glad you recovered from cancer i hope youre doing well right now too but i love the McLaren and Lamborghini, i understand your opinions on the Porsche and your emotional memories with it, but i wasnt into Lego in 2016 (well, i was, but i was too young to build and even understand Technic) so the emotion isnt there. Like your opinions tho except for the Bugatti, thats where MY emotional support car comes in.

    I would love to see LEGO do a 1/8 scale old school Le Mans car. Like the '66 Ford GT 40, '68 Ferrari 312, or '70 Porsche 917. But if they are sticking with modern hypercars, which makes sense to get the manufacturers excited about licensing them, I would like to see a Pagani Huayra. As far as the current line-up goes my order would be McLaren, Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini, and then Bugatti. Based mostly on appearance.

    My opinion:
    1. McLaren P1 - I’m a big fan of McLaren, so for me that’s deffinetly the first one
    2. Ferrari Daytona SP3- I like Ferrari too, and this is an awesome Lego model
    3. Bugatti Chiron- Alltough you need a key to open the spoiler, I like the function.
    4. Porsche 911 GT3 RS- It was the first 1:8 car back in 2016, when they didn’t even have the half of the peaces from the others and for that it’s a really awesome set.
    5. Lamborghini Sián FKP 37- I really don’t like the not-maching colors on the stickers, and as we have such much stickers, it’s a huge obvious mistake.

    Nice idea, and fun video! I got a feeling that the general opinion about the Sián has changed since it was released. When it was released it seemed to me that the major focus concearned the problem with the different green colours, and that there was a slight dissapointment among serveral accounts that it wasn’t THAT much of a leap from the Bugatti. Nowadays I hear a lot of people saying it’s their favourite of the supercars.

    These are so fun to build. I found these late so the Porsche was unavailable without paying $800+ on eBay. So my first introduction was the Bugatti.
    I bought it and then after starting it, I bought the Ferrari & Lamborghini because it was so much fun. While building the Bugatti i didn't want it to end, there that much fun.
    There also quite intricate and mistakes can happen easily if not paying attention. I learned the hard way with the Bugatti's wing mechanics. I was able to luckily back track and fix my mistakes.
    I'm currently building the Lambo & I'm only on the 2 set of bags. So many pieces, there incredible! Quite expencive for sure but they offer great satisfaction while building and messing with the finished product.
    I'm currently looking for the McLaren at a good price. I'll own 4 of the 5 and will buy any the release down the road.
    My them if you can afford them and you like building very complex things as a hobby.

    The Bugatti has two blue parts that fall off on the back near the spoiler. The Lambo has exhaust pipe tops that fall off. The 911 has headlights that don't like to stay put. The SP3 has a trunk that likes to slam shut. I've learned quite a bit from owning the cars assembled. Handle the cars with care. Many of them feel very solid. Watch the doors. The SP3 convertible top is cool, but it's a weakness. Once I drive these, I will know more.

    Agree, the lambo is stunning. For me it is a matter not only of the lego-technic interpretation, it is that the lambo's design have been like rockets (since contact) and that language has remained since those early days. The resto of them are amazing but I do agree with the Ferrari, it is a beautiful lego set but I would rather have had a more Ferrari Ferrari, say Enzo or la Ferrrari or even the SF90. I cannot wait to get the McLaren, the P1 is just on another level and the way the engine shows is perfect. Great review and for me it's the McLaren. It's the only one I've been excited about. Otherwise, 1:8 scale for technic cars doesn't work for me. I much prefer technic heavy machinery.

    Great comparison !! My favorite is the Lamborghini , simply because I scored it on last ( 23 ) black friday amazon special and yes I was concerned about the fakes , however mine came double boxed with the original stock - box from Lego and I had the sticker number and verified through Lego shop at home and it came from Denmark !! Paid less than 284.00 . Needs to be built !!

    Genuine question, why do you rank the McLaren so high for the interiors? From the videos I've seen, it seems very raw and poorly refined, with lots of visible pins and even protruding axles. It seems to me that bugatti, sian and ferrari are cleaner in that sense. It might just be a false impression from video though, that's why I am asking.

      The look of the center console really appealed to me. I liked the printed tile that had some very detailed graphics. Maybe if I did this again later it would drop. The newness can often have an impact on judging these cars.

    • @guidodare7207
      @guidodare7207 3 месяца назад

      @@alexnunes Thank you for the reply! It might be that the multitude of blue pins and colors on the inside is responsible for that, in the other models there were more properly colored pieces, like all the beige pieces in the Bugatti that make the interior stand a little bit more from the raw internal techinc texture of the car. This is even more enhanced by the fact that the interior is mostly black, which stands out less since this is a technic set. Perhaps putting more black pins instead of blue ones would have helped to achieve a cleaner look. I can totally understand that seeing these cool models in person can be a different experience than vivisecting them online in search for mistakes 😂

    Only got the Lambo but they really nailed it with that one; I'm waiting on the P1 which will release publicly soon. I also considered getting the Ferrari but I really don't like the use of normal lego parts very much, so my fear is that it will be a tedious build once I get to building the front and back ridges of it; I can live with this video;

    Personally, I have the Sian but would also love to get Ferrari. Ferrari looks cleanest and most realistic, they let me down with McLaren, it looks incomplete. Also newer cars have only prints which is one of the key things for such highly-priced set.
