i just got my fake porsche 911 rsr too, i think its the same as yours? i would say ur review is almost accurate about the car. btw u shouldve use sticker, it would look good
@@mild_curiosity Update - It's finished. It went together very nicely. The knock offs seem to shrink the manual to get it to fit onto as few pages as possible, so the PDF is a big help. I had a couple of missing pieces that I was able to get ahold of. Nothing major. It now has the slicks from the Merc F1 car on it, and they look so much better. Treaded tires on a track car just looked awful to me.
I bought one for $15 (as opposed to $179 that LEGO wants) from Aliexpress. There seem to be several Chinese companies which cloned this model, and you don't know what you get. The design is obviously identical to the LEGO one. I actually used the LEGO PDF instructions, since it's easier to magnify the tricky parts. The part quality is great about 90-95% of LEGO quality, minor tolerance issues. It took 10 hours to build. Unfortunately one of the big white parts covering the front is wrong. Instead of getting the right side I got the left side twice. Still, I like it considering the price. It sits now on a shelf showing just the good side. Playability is very low with this set anyways. Why does LEGO sell plastic for $60 a pound I don't know?
I am still trying to figure that too. I have bought several sets that lego sells for $175-$200 for $35-$18. I mean, how many humans actually work at the lego factory where they make the blocks? I saw a video YEARS ago and everything was fully automated and only a handful of humans controlled everything.
for dragging it backward, you can add a small piece on the underside of the car to push against the suspension linkage and push it backward. this keeps the tire from hitting the wheel well when rolling backward
That is a shame. For my fake porsche I had all the pieces, however for the lamborghini that I built before, I had two wrong ones, so I assume it is comman that these fake lego sets have wrong pieces or something missing :(
original companies have to pay additional taxes, collaborations, promotions, adverts and other things. Considering it has a background and is a big companie,2-3x times of the aliexpress copies price would also be good
I bought one for $5 that came with instructions, stickers and all of the pieces and even extra, idk how it is even possible to make it be so cheap. Mine came with "technology" instead if thechnic lol
I've built multiple of these builds and yes you do get multiple parts that are too tight or too loose, so some pieces do require some modification, also I've found even the steps need some alterations to work better, but that as you know comes with experience, but this is to be expected when you consider how cheap these are, they are cheap for a reason, they skip the quality control that LEGO has, but all in all with what you get for the price, it's an absolute bargain!! And i must add, the quality is getting way better! I have an excellent suggestion for a build if you want a great example of one, i liked it so much, i bought 2, one i motorised, and the other i left static!
@minners71 It's a Guly 10624, but you can get a copy of this car with the number 10724, the rear spoiler design on the copy isn't great, but its much much cheaper. Basically it's a Technic's style Lambo Revuelto lookalike, it's a stary dark blue/white colour, it's a lookalike kit that you can buy off that popular Chinese site that starts with a 'T' and ends in 'emu', it's Dimensions are 62cm long, 29.3cm wide and 15cm tall, it's a set that you can build as a static version or you can build the motors into it, the instructions cover both versions, it doesn't come with the power, controller or motors, but heres what it needs, 5 motors in total, 2 x XL, 2 x L and 1 x servo motor, then 1 of them A,B,C,D Bluetooth rechargeable power blocks with it's Bluetooth remote controller! I've built it, takes quite a while with over 4100 pieces! It's HUGE! And it was a joy to build, i actually bought and built 2, one i left static and the other i powered, and it is amazing, you can get the model for about £50 (some sellers try to get more, but you can still find it for that price) but then the motors and power etc will cost about the same as the model does, but for less than £100 for a fully powered build like that is a bargain!! Oh and the motors power all 4 wheels (yep its 4 wheel drive), it powers the stearing, it also has powered doors that go up, And on top of all that it has powered lift system that raises and lowers all 4 wheels too, it has suspension, a working front bonnet and working engine cover that has a sprung held mechanism, with a working moving V12 engine linked to the electric motors too! Honestly, it's the best car build I've ever built!
