Random and good news, I just picked up a 3rd SL60W and they must have upgraded the fan because it produces less noise than they did originally and less noise than my fan modded lights. The pitch of the fan is also a lot better
Unfortunately I don’t have hands-on experience with the 150. Just the VL200 and SL-160W. I don’t know if the 150 could hold up for shooting in brighter conditions
Since I mostly use this indoors it’s totally bright enough for my needs. If I was gonna shoot outdoors more often I would absolutely go for the VL300 or something even brighter
I think it would add quite a bit of brightness but not sure if it’s needed unless you’re shooting outside or really need a powerful light. I’ve rocked the VL200 and it’s pumps out enough light for indoor lighting situations
Like I mentioned, if you're using this light outside or exterior shooting, you're gonna need a lot more power. Even the VL200 at 100% might not cut it. If you're planning on using this indoors then you might not need so much power.
I'd say the 150 is probably more than enough if you're shooting indoors or controlled settings. If you plan to shoot outside, go for the 200 or even 300.
@@TimmyLodhi or if you wanna shoot with the laowa probe lens f14 where the 150 ain't enough. you will at least need the vl200. I have both VL 200 & VL 300. Use them for product/commercial shoots. Love them!
@@noisetrade6130 Good to know. I don't use the probe lens but I'd agree if you're shooting at an aperture above f/11 you're gonna need a lot of light. Thanks for the insight!
@@alphacreatorsmedia I would consider this model old by now. I made this video almost two years ago and technology has changed quite a bit. There are obviously much better options now.
Really loved your insert shots!
Love your format
🙏🏽
This was such a well made video thanks for the thorough review! 👍
Thanks so much for watching Hind!
Great video! I’m convinced 😊
Cool review mate! Also thinking about buying a VL 200 or 300. keep it up!
Thanks friend! I've been using it quite a bit lately!
great review and more than enough.. keep going brother
Very honest review! Thx!
Great video, these are on my shopping list, I got some good milage from my SL60's had to do the fan mod on my units.
The SL60’s are terrific except the fan noise! I was honestly shocked when I did the test. 😰
@@TimmyLodhi I know, I don't understand how that was overlooked. The new little ML60's look like a great light
@@leemjdaley Agreed! Would love to grab a few of those.

@@leemjdaley Is it the SL60 Mark ii?
Hey Timmy,
Has your VL200 held up? The VL300 is on sale for $399 right now and I'm tempted to finally pick one up.
Great video and review
Thanks!!
Hi @timmy lodhi, im thinking to purchase this LED but how is the durability holding up?
Still works like a charm! Although there are many newer models and options available
In hindsight, was the VL-150 more than enough?
Unfortunately I don’t have hands-on experience with the 150. Just the VL200 and SL-160W. I don’t know if the 150 could hold up for shooting in brighter conditions
was there any point where you wish you had spent a little extra for the vl300?
Since I mostly use this indoors it’s totally bright enough for my needs. If I was gonna shoot outdoors more often I would absolutely go for the VL300 or something even brighter
Timmy would people spend more on VL300?? At 1m, VL200 (75,000 lux) vs VL300(77,000 lux) is that extra 2,000 lux doing anything?
I think it would add quite a bit of brightness but not sure if it’s needed unless you’re shooting outside or really need a powerful light. I’ve rocked the VL200 and it’s pumps out enough light for indoor lighting situations
@@TimmyLodhi idk seems to me it's only 2.6% more.
3:43 it would help to know your camera settings here
Makes sense! Will keep that in mind for the next video. Here it was ISO 800, f/1.8, at 180 Shutter
Very helpful, thank you
You’re welcome! Hope it helped
What would the purpose be of getting the VL200 over the VL150 if you never use more than 30% power anyways? Is a there other differences
Like I mentioned, if you're using this light outside or exterior shooting, you're gonna need a lot more power. Even the VL200 at 100% might not cut it. If you're planning on using this indoors then you might not need so much power.
does godox video lights have overheating issue?
I've never had that issue with the VL200
does the light have fx.
It doesn’t
cant decide between the 150 vs 200
I'd say the 150 is probably more than enough if you're shooting indoors or controlled settings. If you plan to shoot outside, go for the 200 or even 300.
Right now B&H have a discount in the VL200 and is $349... its a GREAT deal.
@@LasTerrenasTV that is a good deal!

Woah, pretty nice quality content. I would say on par with Gerald Undone
Thank you!
ALERT>> Nobody is saying that the Godox VL200 doesnt change the white balance! Important Point to mention
That should be pretty clear if you read the specs. It states it’s a daylight balanced LED
@@TimmyLodhi for a $600 light its really bad not having variable temperature…
@@alphacreatorsmedia I would consider this model old by now. I made this video almost two years ago and technology has changed quite a bit. There are obviously much better options now.
@@TimmyLodhi what are some better options to look at now do you think? Variable light temp and strong enough to overpower daylight.
@@PanchoCohen honestly I’d check out the new Smallrig lights. Seem like a great light at a great price. Or the more budget Apurture options.
It’s go dox, not god ox.
