Another top quality track from the excellent 1971 album pieces Of A Man, the mix of modes is mindblowing on this album, Gil's poetry along with his warm sensibiity for Jazz, Gil was unique, he was doing what no one else was doing at the time back in 1971, he was way ahead of the game
A song that will forever be relevant to our society, hasn’t aged a day.

This song always brings me to tears, I SWEAR!!!!! It's too late for us as adults to smooth out the rugged patches in life. We also had a chance to make an impact, but as soon as we realized that it was on us to put in the work, it was too late, but it is on us to still guide our little ones into a more prosperous future, or they'll only be a repeat of us. Yes, an amazing album! What turned me on to Gil almost 50 years ago, can you believe it! The fact that he got 2 already famous musicians on his album when he was just starting shows what a great talent was seen in him. What a voice to sing the beautiful words he wrote!
