  • This wonderful realistic extended body stonefly pattern uses the stonefly body tool from MvE products in the Netherlands, and CDC from David Jedlicka in the Czech Republic. Although a very realistic looking fly it's a very easy tie and will float all day long. It can also be tied in 3 different sizes and all the colours you may require.

A very, very nice exercise in style. Thirteen minutes for a fly, tied by a great specialist, I do not dare to imagine the time it would take for a fly tyer, even of a good level. And for a much less result.

I wanted to buy those hair stackers but years back my friend Andy created multiple stackers. 54 Dean Street sells them now, I bought a few from Andy just after he came out with them. I can't have everything I guess. At least that's what my wife says when I grovel during our morning routine. Barry , the fly looks terrific , but could you not have just used another thin strip of " cheap foam " instead of the more expensive " dear hair " at the start ? Or does the deer hair help make the body more ridged ? Anyways , it turned out nice .
