Check out 'In Any Tongue' from the same concert...another great guitar solo. I was fortunate enough to see him on this tour (although in Chicago) that year. I had only become a Pink Floyd fan the year before, and then to see him in concert the following year (esp. when he rarely tours) was an amazing experience.

I 100% agree. Literally this entire concert. I saw him with Pink Floyd in 94. I’ve seen both him and Roger solo. This is the best of the best for me
David Gilmour, the best guitarist in the entire universe! (And I have traveled extensively throughout the universe.) His guitar sings with swooping, soaring lyrical melodies that are both ethereal and powerful.
I agree with you about David Gilmore and his guitar playing but there is one other guy who comes very close so just has good days and that is Lindsay Buckingham from Fleetwood Mac. On the album called the dance he does his song called I am so afraid and he does a solo which is mind blowing. David and Lindsey are my favourite guitarist
Richie Blackmore might have something to say about that.(light in the black and stargazer solo's (Rainbow).

Pink Floyd did two legendary concerts in Pompeii. The first one in the 70s and the second one in 2016. Best place I can imagine for the sound of such a band.
Pink Floyd our proper musicians and the concert so put on were totally incredible especially with the visual effects.David Gilmore is a legend when it comes to music with his brilliant voice and superb guitarist. Every one of their songs it’s like a new discovery and they are so unique.
2 good songs I could recommend are Mariooned and Coming back to Life but just to add that every piece of music that they have created is brilliant. Thank you for your reaction I really enjoyed it and I’m glad you enjoyed listening to David Gilmore who is a complete musical genius.If you have never seen one of his live show, then it is a must. Guaranteed to be in shock. You will be in awe.

My all-time favorite version and song of Pink Floyd, absolutely 💯, could never get better for me. Even though the last solo is a little off track the alternate I personally like better than the original, which makes me such a fan of this and especially Gilmour, he should be Sir David Gilmour! Just David putting his favorite guitar through it's paces. The Black Strat now belongs to Jim Irsay, who owns the Indianapolis Colts. The auction conditions stated that the instrument should be played, and Irsay called David and said it would.
Sir NJ. Stop it. Get out..(as it is often said by rectors to something remarkable/beyond expectation) . My hands and my chest got pounding. What a beautiful view and scenery you are. The guitar playing was so clean.(I quoted/copied reactors' saying) .No rustling and snapping sounds.🤣🤣

David Gilmour is actually Sir David Gilmour. The amphitheater of Pompeii is the Oldest amphitheater on the planet. David Gilmour was the first live performance in that structure since 79ad. That's 70 generations ago. A little trivia, the Guitar strap he was using was Jimi Hendrix's
Pink Floyd the only band allowed by the Italian Government to perform at Pompeii Amphitheater in 1972 & again 2016. I’m a long time fan since the early years, love PF

Dude is like 80 years old and be keeps getting better. Paul McCartney is the only other guy I would say the same about even I appreciate Gimour so much more. The tone on this reflects his age and experience. The best version of this song for me.

The concert is in an amphitheatre built by the Romans, they built them throughout the empire and you can even find one in the small UK city where I live. Pompeii is a fascinating place that is worth looking up.
I recommend you react to all of the David Gilmour Live in Pompeii performances. He performs all of the Pink Floyd hits(Sorrow, Run Like Hell.). I think Sorrow should be next. I'd also react to Pink Floyd pulse performances

This was great, but I personally like the solo in the Pulse video better. Sir David Gilmore at the height of his abilities. Still incredible how he still slays the solo here even as a much older man! But you should definitely check out comfortably numb live from the Pulse concert. Some people claim, it is the best guitar solo ever played on this planet (and probably also the best for many years to come.) I am one of them.
It's not like he is singing through his guitar, he IS singing through his guitar. Let there be no mistake lol. Cheers!

It does get better than this IMO. Comfortably Numb, Pulse concert 1994. David was pretty old in this one and it sadly shows just a little.
