Anyone hear says they are thinking of getting a S1000R don’t think just buy it, I had a 2014 gen 1 loved that so much all I could replace it with is the gen 2 in 2018 same as this one but in Grey, it is a vastly improved machine on what was already an incredible machine.
Next stop is the all new gen 3 got a test ride already to see how awesome that is.

BMW put the TFT display in pretty much all of its bikes for 2020, except for this one. I guess I'll wait for the 2021 model (and they need to fix that front end as well). 2020 is not a year most people will be doing a lot of riding anyway (damn virus!).
I test rode one of these a few years back and freaking loved it, don't quite understand all of the "too refined and has no personality" comments I hear about it though.
@@CaliMotoTV I have a 2019 model and I recently described it as a Jekyll and Hyde bike too 😂 Especially when you put the bike in Dynamic Pro rider mode then it goes all 👿😄
I have a ‘17 - it has shed loads of character
This model needs an upgrade. Maybe its coming next year since most of the bikes have already being upgraded to new version in 2020. Definitely need a new TFT dash and new headlight.
The bike is great but it does need some of the new electronics from the new RR and probably the engine - but hope they keep the Brembos
crackling and popping is due to the engine, pushing out leftover intake air, I believe adding a pipe will only make the sound nicer,,,,I love the s1000r for this

I keep seeing this bike pop up on cycle trader really considering flying to cali buying it then riding all the way back to kentucky.
Great vid! I ride a 2018 S1R. New upgrade for next year I hear?? A TFT dash won't make me change the bike. Nevertheless, I look forward to the updates & see what BMW have done...?

I heard you mention mt is that the mt-10 do you flat foot that bike I've bought one but havnt even seen it yet it at the dealers in Billings Montana the weather hasn't been good enough to ride it the 220 miles home thanks

nice vid.....yes!!! people under estimate the value of cruise control!!! unfortunately ...malaysia spec came with NO cruise control...its the basic "empty" version!!...no option available for us... I WANT CRUISE CONTROL!!!!! anyway u should PICK ONE UP!!!!!!enjoy riding S1K !!!!!

Bought an s1000r yesterday! This bike is like a lady who can behave like a slut, countrary to the MT10 for example. Still I find the BMW to be a better actress. Pozdrawiam!🤙

The only thing that worries me is my height. I'm 5"4".
I’m 5’7” on a 16 rr and I’m on my toes if I put both feet down. It’s not bad at all once you become comfortable using one foot.
5'6" 120lbs and one flat foot and one tipsy toe...if you are 210lbs....2 flat foot.

Dont ride with high beams...it is dangerous...dont have lenght perception
You can absolutely judge the length of an object with high beams (that's what length perception is by the way)... you also can see further sooo depth perception is better as well...
