    Hey Bonde... I'm looking to set up in a warehouse space similar to what you have here... can you tell me how difficult it was dealing with your Health Dept. allowing you to roast in the warehouse. I'm anticipating my HD to require 3 comp sink, hand sink... etc, etc.

    • @bonde.johnson
      @bonde.johnson  3 года назад +1

      Hey Gabriel! The health dept. doesn't really bother coffee roasters. As roasters, our use falls into NAICS manufacturing (311920) which you can find here: gumroad.com/l/2017-NAICS-Classification-Manual. We are a gray area in food manufacturing as our product is considered grocery, yet it is not directly consumable. There is no requirement for sinks for roasting, we have only had the city say they prefer to see a handwashing sink within a certain number of feet of our operation (didn't have to even be our unit). Of course everything depends on your county, the members of the governing boards, and your specific operation. I hope that helps somewhat!

      @@bonde.johnson , Thanks for the reply... that does help. I'll read up on NAICS as well.

    Hello Blonde Johnson, I am looking into starting a coffee roasting business. Could you recommend me good coffee roasters that are durable and won't break the bank. Thank you !

    Greetings Bonde,
    I am up-to-date with every video you post. It is motivating to see how you grew from home roasting to production facility. Did you consider buying a printer for your labels instead of buying printed stickers? If yes, any recommended printers brand?
    We are soon to launch our coffee roasting business named JBean and I am benefiting from all the videos in this channel. Thanks again!

      I appreciate the comment, Jasir! I have looked into Epson brand printers as they have small, mid-size, and large printers for labels and such but based on our current size and label needs we fall into the highest tier printer and that's not a focus for us at the moment.
      I'm very excited for you! Please keep me updated on the status of your launch so I can buy some of your coffee.

    I was curious how you guys do the pods?

      @bonde.johnson  3 года назад +2

      We use iFillSystems and have our own secret method of filling so we don’t need to purchase the very expensive machines haha I can share in a live stream!

    Looking good! Enjoy content on this channel. Looking forward to seeing the video of the new roaster, not a lot of videos out there on that one. Planning on keeping the Artisan 2.5?

    • @bonde.johnson
      @bonde.johnson  3 года назад

      Thanks, Wesley! I appreciate the order you put in! We will keep the Artisan 2.5 yes, it's a great roaster and will be good for handling our single origins which usually make up a smaller portion of our orders. The Artisan x-e will mainly be used for our wholesale accounts.

    I found you in the past day and have watched almost every video you have posted. Great stuff. What did you do for a coffee destoner starting out? The cheapest I have found is about $2000. Can you do it by hand? When should you get a destoner. I looked at the tour of your new faciility and didn't see it.

I saw the couple of comments you left and you have some great questions--If you have a good email I can reply and answer each of them in a more orderly fashion. Thanks again for leaving the comments, I look forward to being in touch.
