the noise difference is climb milling vs conventional milling. the noise has has noting to do with the tool. you are hearing the backlash in the axis as the cutter is pulling the spindle along faster than the ballscrew and they are bouncing into eachother
It makes a different sound in each direction because it is alternating between climb cutting and conventional cutting. I’m most instances climb cutting is ideal and will result in a better finish and longer tool life.
I wonder if you could share the file? I'm interested to see what settings you are using, and I don't consider flying sparks to be a good thing when cutting unhardened steel.

What kind of tape is that? Might be common in Canada, but I've never seen it here. I've seen folks to the superglue hold down with paper masking tape.
It is just polyester masking tape or powder coating tape. About $12 for a couple of 2" rolls.
Awesome machine!!!!
Hey mate, amazing results! What tape are you using there if you dont mind telling?

will the spindle speed go slow enough for a fly cutter?
I'll chime in here. That's unlikely, fly cutters you want to keep less than 1K rpm and this spindle is happiest around 20K.
when can we buy
Are these order-able?
Lovely work
DMC2 is BEST
