I know that they probably don't do as well as the 40K vids, but gosh darn it if these non-40K aren't a ton of fun! Its always cool to see that the mini war gaming/table top hobby is more than just one or two big names, but is a whole world of cool, geeky stuff to explore and try out. Hope to see more stuff like this in the future.
The production quality that play on put into their videos is sooooooo impressive! Well done Tak, Steve, Tycho, Nick & James. This is a great intro to such a fun game
I love how POT keep raising the bar on battle report production. Hope all these game companies appreciate these free professional level promotional productions. 🤟
Not sleeping just that it is kind of a nich within a nich, due to super heroes. Models are pretty but they are very set in what they are, you can't really make Hulk your own. Rules are very good, but to me the narrative kills it for me.
@@UnkaStunka there's a lot of narrative, I'm remaking battles from comics and mcu. There's also ultimate encounters, I also paint my models in alternative costumes and variants. I will admit I'm a lil bais cause I've loved marvel all my life and this game bring their table top form to life.
@@MekBoooooi I definitely share your enthusiasm for Marvel. I think it would be cool to use 3D printed pieces or something to make Hulk look like World War Hulk. That would be one way to make your Hulk unique!
Great video with the effects, a few things with the rules. 1) Loki wouldn't have been able to get up onto the bugle stand with trickster as that would require a climb and trickster is an advance 2) M.O.D.O.K wouldn't have been able to throw the taco truck into hulk as it would collide with the first thing under the template which would be the bugle stand.
Also, at 33:45 Cap dazes Zemo with a shield slam and the throw from that attack happens after the attack is resolved. Dazed characters cannot be moved or interacted with, and since Zemo is dazed at this point, He wouldn't be thrown. Great Bat Rep though guys. Keep up the good work.
This video was so awesome! I just picked this game up myself so when I see my favorite warhammer channel playing it, I got excited. The editing and graphics was so on point with the theme. Seriously, if ya'll ain't playing this game, give it a chance.
This game looks like a lot of fun and I really want to try it now. Also the quality of this video was insane, you guys are so skilled. I for one really want to see more of this and I vote that bombastic declarations of villainy and heroism be mandatory.... also maybe always play M.O.D.O.K Additionally the paintjob on these models is really good!
These Marvel Crisis Protocol videos are the best battle report videos I've seen of any game! I've just starting looking into the game and it looks like a lot of fun. Well done and would love to see more!
Absolutely insane production level, probably the best I've seen in any battle report around. Congrats! I'm not into 40k nowadays, but I'm absolutely looking forward to see more MCP (and who knows what others possible games you may tackle) in the future. There are a couple rules mistakes during the game, but I've seen them already commented by other people (Loki couldn't withdraw into the Bugle stand as it was a regular Advance, MODOK can't throw the truck as it would collide into the Bugle stand), but these are nitpicks overall and the correct way to do everything (for instance throwing the actual Bugle stand instead of the truck :P) wouldn't have changed much the result. Now, what *could* have changed a lot the game is Steve using Hulk's superpower to reroll defense rolls besides the Monologue. Wouldn't have worked against MODOK due mystic, but could have mitigated (or not, because dice gonna dice) quite a bit of extra damage. But that's the classic "oh shoot, I forgot to use that hability" that happens to every one of us :D
Level of painting is top notch, adds so much to the immersion and the quality of video, editing and effects are *chef's kiss". Would absolutely love to see more of MCP, this game is criminally underrated and needs more attention. Plus the amount of content (heroes) Atomic Mass Games pumps into it is through the roof. Hope you guys decide to keep promoting this!
While the level of paint may fluctuate with the different players we do hope to maintain the feel created by the production and vibe set by this video. Hopefully the audience for this game grows and we can maintain the professional painter for future projects and get all the new miniatures released by Atomic Mass
@@PlayOnTabletop this game is amazing and props to your team for driving that. No matter painting level, it still looks awesome, anything is better than grey plastic 😉
+5000 points to the editor! The backgrounds, edits and effects used here were superb! Hope you guys enjoyed making this episode. Would love to see your enthusiastic selves play more MCP! 😁
The video quality and editing is out of this world... amazing quality and is one of the reasons this is my favorite channel by far! I've never played this game but it was a delight watching Steve and James play, looking forward for more videos!
Yesssss! I love MCP and I am sooo glad that Play On is diving into it so much. You guys are honestly my favorite Miniature Wargaming channel and I am happy you are delving into one of my favorite games! Can't wait to see more MCP in the future!
So a few of my friends n' I, all of us long-time 40K players, have recently gotten into this game and we love it. We love it for the mechanics, we love it for the sheer freedom and variety of the roster building, but most importantly of all, we love it for it's cinematic nature. The cool moments always feel more alive when you can vividly picture them happening to and with these characters you're already familiar with, who have histories and personalities all their own. One of my favorite moments thus far has been Ghost Rider flinging a chain around Green Goblin's glider and dragging Gobby down the highway for a full long movement, before laying waste to him with the flaming hell chains. Good times. Love this game, and I'm happy to see it here on your channel. I hope to see much more.
I would definitely be down for another MCP game for the sole reason to see Steve claim revenge. The Year of Steve transcends ALL games. Also, James was REALLY crafty with his gameplay. Those villain units seem kinda busted with all their tools.
I love just how much production value goes into this. Typically I watch playon's games in the background, but the comic book presentation just amplifies the already amazing comraderie and friendly rivalries that the players have to a point where I kind of just have to stop and actually watch. It's fun. It's neat.
Always a joy seeing Steve and James square off with each other. Great dynamic between the two. And very interesting game system. Could go for more of that in the future.
Definitely enjoyed watching, and would love to see more. MCP is the game I've played most in recent days. I follow you more for the format and your presentation than for the 40k nature of the content. The energy symbols worked well, as did showing energy counts at the round start. Surprised you didn't use the dice box and cam that you use for 40k.
When all the warhammer channels are playing Star Wars Legion and Marvel Crisis Protocol, both owned by Asmodee, you know Games Workshop has a problem on their hands. You love to see it.
I have to say we'll done on the production value. Looks very good. One thing to note about your Loki is that I don't think he can move on to that building because its a size larger than he is. Gotta use an action to climb I believe.
Ooo, Ooo, I have an IDEA... so, remember you had the 40K game where Vader crash landed into the game? What if you do one where a QUINJET crashes into a 40k battle???
Used to occasionally run Champions RPG "demo derby" for my friends. I would use my childhood puzzletown playset to give us a modular destroyable landscape.
One thing that has kept me out of trying this and SWLegion is I SUCK at painting. My kid is great at it though. And they just said they would aid my endevours in exchange for detail brushes.
This looks like one of those "easy to learn, hard to master" type of games. I feel like I could play the game just after watching this, but boy do I have no idea what is a good combo or strategy
That is one of the positives for the game. It can definitely be quick to pick up and can be played casually while also offering great depth for players that want to take it up a notch
This was a great video! The time and effort really showed. As a result of this video, I'll be playing MCP with some friends over the (US) labor day holiday. And I've sent them the video too! Hoping to see more MCP (and Star Wars Legion) content!
Simply amazing. I saw these models since a while and I am a huge Marvel fan... but I wasn't so sure about all the gameplay and stuff. But this battle report sold me.
0:00 If you look, Space Marine Steve threw his arm hard enough to make the rock shrapnel move on the battle map. HE WAS ALREADY CHANNELING HIS INNER HULK!
Please, please, please do some more MCP. It doesn't need the massive effects editing effort that this had, just some quality battle reports with the PoT crew would suffice.
Absolutely fantastic production value and really enjoyed this snappy battle report!! Hope to see more of these to add to the list of BR’s I watch for this game!!
I never found battle reports of this game that interesting... until this one. Great job to everyone involved! It was extremely engaging and fun to watch. I hope to see more!
I just started playing MCP I was a Warhammer player for a long time but with all the constant rules updates and just the sheer amount of things you need to memorize it wasn’t fun for me. MCP is super fun and much easier, I really appreciate the 80 hours of editing, it took a while this time but next time will be much faster because you have all the templates!

Couldn't agree more, its cool to have variety.

simple, exactly. Most people in the tabletop genre dont want to play games 10 year olds can play.
I just wish I had people that played near me!

Glad to hear! It was a labour of love
I can't like this enough. I LOVE all of your content and this is currently my favorite mini game.

@Justin Mayo A climb is a short advance according the the rules. So I don't think that's correct.
Excelsior!!!! Over 80 hours of work for editing this great video, you are truly true believers!!!!

Love to see MCP on Play On. Definitely interesting that you picked a banned crisis to play with "Panic Grips City as Evacuation Efforts Continue".
We were not really thinking competitive for this first one. Just a friendly fight between friends.
@@PlayOnTabletop Definitely, it was just interesting because James brought up Brace for Impact being restricted later in the video.
As well as the banned Med-Pack which was rough on an inexperienced Avenger.
Good fun game though
@@jameswoodward7545 I would imagine that this was recorded before the recent set rotation so Med-Pack wouldn't have been banned at the time.
