Love this nimbus - put it on forget it's there and run - comfortable, cushioned, stable, much lighter than before, does it all really, the one must have shoe for beginners and every day runners in my very humble opinion - best nimbus version too
Yes it’s an absolute winner. Lovely plush feel but good design and build too.
The Nimbus is dead, long live the Nimbus!
Nimbus, my gateway running shoe - it will keep going long after I stopped. All hail the king!
Brilliant review @EDDBUD , as usual!
So looking forward to this! Thank you for the review! ✨
Frickin love my Nimbus 22's. So comfortable. Perfect for steady runs and just getting the miles in. Loads of cushioning but structure too. Great stuff.
Saving for tomorrow but looking forward to this one. Hesrd nothing but good things!
Was waiting for this
Great review..you’re absolutely on point 👍👍👍
It is interesting that so many high cushioning shoes lost a considerable weight in 2022 versus last year line of shoes.
So far that I known that dropped or will drop weight : Asics Gel-Nimbus/Gel-Cumulus 24 , Saucony Triumph 20 , New Balance More V4 ( the 1080v12 won some wt), Brooks Glycerin 20/Ghost 14, Adidas Ultraboost 22 ... soon enough basic daily trainers will all weight less then 250g at size 9 US while high cushioning shoes will all get close to hit the weight of a NB 1080v11 !
Love this shoe. Probably the best all around shoe.
I went in a store to get a different shoe but ended testing the Nimbus 24 and loved it. For the first time a Nimbus at size 9 US is a bit snug and feels like it is size 8.5 that is the size I prefer for all my running shoes. The fit is perfect and it is a very comfortable shoe for running.
I am new to ASICS, have NovaBlast 2 & Nimbus Lite 2. Now considering the Nimbus 24 as one of my shoe purchases. Loved that color too.
It’s a real 😍
Very impressive shoe got mine today , bought the ASICS gel 1000 GT a few weeks ago love them both I need more time to compare. ASICS is the best!
Asics make some super consistent models.
I’ve been waiting for this one

Liked! Will you plan on taking a look at the Cumulus 24 as well? I generally go to the Cumulus for a tad less bulk.
Thanks Edd. Found the 22 to be the most comfortable shoe ever but very heavy so this was an interesting review.
Bit lighter I think than the 23. Could be a good option.
Kind of wishing I had a pair for my half in two weeks. Do you think the Saucony Speed 2s are okay for a half?
Endorphin Speed 2s obvs
@@PabloPerez-nd7se Absolutly. The speed 2 is an excellent shoe.
I like it. it's like you said that it's versatile especially in recovery run after better from my shin splint.
Glad its working out for you Sirichai
Loved the Nimbus 22 and 23 so will probably pick this one up too. The durability is incredible - they barely looked worn even after 400k+. I also like the Nimbus Lite 2 a lot - it's my absolute highest mileage shoe ever. Be great to see a review of the Nimbus Lite 3.
Yes this one is built like a marshmallow tank. More comparisons soon
Wow. My nimbus lite 2 lasted 300km and i had to return them. Cushioning in fore foot totally gone and got down to rubber on lateral side. Nimbus lite 1 were better lasting for me. Will not buy another lite version because of that.
I loved the 22 but the 23 felt stiffer and overall just a worse fit for me. I actually had to go on ebay and find a pair of 20's since 22's are pulled off the shelves everywhere. IMO every odd year is usually a bad year. They like to give themselves things to improve.
Thanks for the good review Edd. Great in the review itself but not great for my wallet since I now want a pair of these. 😂
Not had Asics for a while but the ones I've had always seemed very well made and long lasting...
No different here John 👍🏼
Superb review, will definitely pick it up when my vomero dies, which I think will be when nimbus 26 is out 😅
A good comparison right there is with the Vomero 16. Will cover some comparisons over the weekend.
Really like ASICS as a company, use a lot of recycled or otherwise “eco” materials, shoes are well made and durable so you get value for your hard earned earth credits. They don’t overly promote many of the things they do to support healthy mentality and physicality , which makes that more genuine to me. Not the most sexy options out there, but they deliver what you need and hold up, kind of the Toyota of shoes.
Great points. I like Asics too, and I respect them more than some of the other brands. They aren't flashy and don't spend massive sums of money on endorsement deals to get their name put there even if it does end up making them kind of underrated. But for sure they focus on quality and performance. And like you say they are doing good work with recycling and more sustainable production. And compared to some other brands you really never hear about any scandals with Asics.
Looks like Asics is going to have another good year
Yes some smashing releases recently.
Can’t wait for the Glideride 3.
will do
I like to too. I got to 100 miles in mine today
You don't get to the 24th version without being a decent shoe. Also nice that they've not completely changed the shoe, but given it the same name (Adidas Boston 10! 🧐)
Looks great too, you could even wear them to the groovy gang disco! 🕺💃🚦🎉
I’m off for the skateboarding activities whilst listening to my BROS album.
Try not to fall off! 🛹
Nice versatile shoe . Not too squishy like the novablast then curious about this one
More structure here than the novablast. None of that midsole cutout business.
Thank you for the video, Nimbus 24 vs Puma Velocity/Magnify?
Coming soon 👍🏼
I have this shoe and love it. Fantastic video. Do you mind answering if you are a heel or forefoot striker? If forefoot how do you get on with models like this that have a high drop? Seems like a waste of all the foam in the heel? I strike forefoot and that’s my only grip with these old school drops
I look at myself as a midfoot striker when running quickly. The drop seems to work well and only a smidge of the tougher rubber seems to be spot on.
“Swiss Army Shoe”! Brilliant!!
It’s the do it all. Sadly it doesn’t make the tea. ☕️
Awaiting for the versus video.. perhaps with Vomero 16 and Novablast 2 (same midsole?), thanks Buddy
Coming up this weekend Alex 👍🏼
Certainly a shoe I’ll be looking into. Earth credits at the ready
It’s a lovely ride. Really forgiving.
Love this shoe for my long some 2 runs. Such a nice ride out the box have you tried the Noosa Tri 14s Bud?
Not tried those but many people tell me to give them a whirl!
@@EDDBUD Give them a go. Would love to see your review and best use case for the Noosa tri 14. Thanks EDbud
Excellent review, do you think the Puma velocity nitro 2 would be a good alternative to the Gel Nimbus 24, for longer runs?
Maybe the foreverun is a better comparison.
@@EDDBUD Thanks for the reply, it seems the foreverrun is more of a stability shoe, I prefer neutral.
I have decided to go 50% known, 50% unknow. I have found a pair of Ghost 13s, which I currently use for £60 and a pair of Deviate Nitro Elite for £85 at Start Fitness, that should cover both long and tempo runs nicely, I even found a 10% discount code, to offset delivery.
I’ve tried the nimbus 24 and I agree that it has one of the best upper I’ve tried. Plush, yet ventilated. Very good stuff. But the gel on the forefoot was very discomfortable. A really disappointment. On a long run I did, I felt like was steeping into something very hard, as opposed to the rest of the shoe that was very soft and compressive. Maybe I got a bad one as it was only in my right foot. Talked to Asics and returned the shoes with no problem. A pity tought, because I really liked that upper and the FF Blast +.
I have these and haven't felt the gel as a 6'1" 185lb midfoot striker. However, online reviewer Kofuzi, who is a forefoot striker, had the issue with feeling the gel in one of his feet as well.
Hey@@mtmatt6111! It was an absolutely crazy experience because my left foot was very cozy and comfortable and my right foot was hurting bad. I saw Kofuzi’s review after that and had the impression he felt it in both feet, although I’m not sure. I should mentioned that I also had a problem with the airbag on the Vomero 16 in my right foot. When I went for a long run in those I really felt the airbag under my right foot wich ended up hurting a lot. Also retorned those.
I had multiple ankle injuries playing football in the past, so that might left my right foot more ridged than my left. Don’t really know.
Sad these didn’t work for you. No such issues here.
Felt that way with the 23. To the point i’ve had to drag my non ideal floatrides out on the long ones which I don’t recommend over 10k, because the nimbus were too much effort.
They also got a bit more narrow with the 23 (22s were lovely) and i’d rather not pay up for the wides when these go on sale after a couple of months.
Don’t know if the changes are enough for round 3 for me even with the less weight.
One shoe definitely feels tighter than the other. The laces hang because I just can’t run in them with the lace lock unlike the 22.
Still in two minds what to try next for a 10
to half shoe for someone who sits in the middle between normal and wide
Hey@@billybentley4066! Have you tried the Nova Blast 2? I currently rotating the NB2 and the Invincible run on my recovery/ long runs. The NB2 are firmer and more breathable than the Invincible, but both work very well for that purpose. I think you can find both on sale right now.
i took nimbus 24 today,i am a beginner racer,i run 8-10km 2-3 times a week not for time only for fun,you think i made a good choice?if not what other shoes would be your sugestion?
Completely gel-aous. :-))
Quick q. Should a heavy runner take chances with a Nimbus 24 or Cumulus 23 MK?
Thanks.
Nimbus I think as it’s a little more stable and fitting
I'm keen to try out Asics but I always fall back to Saucony - is there much of a difference between Saucony and Asics? I run in Saucony's Hurricance 23 and when the weather is better I have the Endorphins chomping at the bit to get out and about - what's the closest ASICS shoes to these?
Been using the Nike Invincibles recently, absolutely love them but the instability is giving me some ankle issues. These look like that perfect blend of cushion and bounce with some stability? Any other better options?
Far more stable than the invincible. I love the primex over the invincible due to the upper but that shoe is far from stable.
Just ordered a pair on sale from Start Fitness, I hope I'm not disappointed 🤔
Let me know how they go 👊
I have one question, Recently I bought asics gt 800 when I tried at shop it was ok. But when I used them for normal walking I felt pain near heel area. Then I tried asics gel and same pain happen at same area. Any one having same issue and also I don't have flat feet.
Would you consider this to be one of the best long run shoes? If not, what would you put in there instead?
I got them for that purpose. I’m a 190lbs and like them for up to 2 hrs or so zone 2 to zone 3 pace.
Ed,
Have is this for heel stiker? What you suggest Nimbus 24 or Zoomx Invincebe 2
Thanks in advance for reply!
Both shoes lend themselves to any foot strike. Though I feel they suit a heel strike and are very protective.
Thanks Edd... But can you please clarify, why do you think this is good for long runs when the stack is only 15 in the front?
There’s gel in the forefoot too. So it doesn’t squish all that much. Ideal for a long run.
@@EDDBUD fair enough! Thanks for clarifying. I'm getting good results with the Rebel v2 for long runs but I'll keep these in mind for future.
Would be interesting to compare Nimbus 24 and the Velocity Nitro 2.
Testing the velocity 2 this week
@@EDDBUD Thanks!! Oh wait... A mexican standoff between Nimbus 24, Velocity Nitro 2 and Triumph 19 please :)
How lo g did it take you to get to the pace you run at now from when you first started running?
A couple of years. Consistency is key and managing the load.
How do you use this and the novablast 2 in your daily training rotation
Do you prefer one vs the other for a daily trainer
I love them both but actually prefer the nimbus 24 somehow... a bit more stable
I agree Marie. This one is just a little more stable and more conventional.
As a mid foot to forefoot striker, I feel the midsole of forefoot is a bit too thin to me. Moving 2mm from heel to forefoot would be perfect. 😂
If you can try the nimbus lite - it seems more geared to suit mid foot strickers
@@marie-clairechahine857 too bad it’s not available in my place right now. Got a pair of NB 1080v12 instead.
The Japanese giant has woken up from the grayness in the last two years. High quality shoes with high price tag. anyway the NIMBUS line is still not my cup of tea.. I still prefer the Evoride 2 & Novablast new generation Asics models.
For Utra marathons - Glideride2 v Nimbus 24 - Who wins? Thanks
For an ultra? I actually think the more firm nature of the GlideRide. The nimbus will be too soft
@@EDDBUD thanks mate, appreciate the support 🤣
@@Brettflorens Best of luck. You are a legend status for doing an ultra. I don’t have the stamina! 👊
@@EDDBUD 🤣🤣 it will be my 26th ComradesMarathon and have 10 Two oceans as well. I have run in nimbus most of my life, but tried metaride in 2019 and now have the GlideRide2
Is it that much better than the cumulus when you consider the significant price difference ?
Not tried the cumulus so can’t make comment there Sean
@@EDDBUD thanks Edd, they look like a high quality shoe but maybe a little pricey
Can you tell me if these fit true to size or do they run tight?
I would go true to size
I was a nimbus fan but over 300bucks NZD when the novablast is cheaper. How can I?
Very different shoes.
@@EDDBUD may be but i like both so i go the 40 bucks cheaper
for the price of Nimbus 24, would people rather buy the Streakfly?
Totally different shoes for different purposes. Streakfly is for 5k races while this nimbus is for long distances
Agree 100%. Little to compare here.
@@erensfeet5563 well, both of these can function as a daily trainer. To some they just need 2 pairs, daily trainer and race day.
Bit late tonight, Ed. No school tomorrow?
No, school in session all day today and tomorrow :)
Grafter 👊🏿💪🏿
Hi
Gold! ( Sorry its late, insane day! )
At £165 its a neeeiiiggghhhh from me....
I had the Gel Nimbus 20, it was comfortable. And also utter rubbish
