    Got this today. Tried the Novablast 2, Nike Zoomx and the React. The Gel Nimbus 24 was miles ahead. Really comfortable and unbelievably stable. My 1st Asics. Asics forefoot cushion is done best imo compared to other brands

      @acec276 2 года назад

      I think it depends on what you're looking for. This is a max cushion shoe so you can't compare it with the novablast in terms of comfort. My question is which of the two can handle faster paces better.

    • @joejr6103

      @@acec276 no problem with Nimbus 24. That's what I saw from My Runs channel. Novablast got FF Blast while Nimbus got FF Blast plus which softer, easier and comfort. But go for Novablast 2 if you durability as Nimbus is softer material.

    I had 4 sets of different Asics gel shoes at the start of my running career. Mostly out of lack of knowledge and friends were running in them. I would always feel the gel in the front but just assumed that was part of running. When I finally moved away from Asics gel shoes (Mizuno shoe, yes I was that guy) I was surprised at how nice and comfortable the landing on the forefoot was. It actually helped me transition away from heel striking. In my experience that feeling of gel at the forefoot never goes away for the life of the shoe. Interestingly, I never noticed any feel from the gel in the back.

    Biggest things I noticed from the 24 is the change in the tongue, as you mentioned and the new foam feels much softer. I’ve loved the shoe for just walking around, I’ve never run in the Nimbus much, but I’m keen to run in this new version. Great video, Kofuzi!

    I ran in the 21 which I loved, and now have a pair of 22s. So even without the FFBlast+, and being even heavier, I have always found the Nimbus to feel lighter than it is. I can easily do shorter pickups in it, or finish a long run a bit stronger. It feels good at pace even though it’s not really meant for it.
    I imagine for me, loving the earlier iterations, the 24 would be extremely delightful.

    • @HH-gv8mx

      Have you logged miles in the 24s? I’ve been a fan of Nimbus for years. I burned thru the 22s fairly quickly and purchased several different colors of them. Had some foot issues and switched over to the kinseis, tried the cumulus 22s and bought several pairs of the nimbus Lite 2s (which I also burned through fairly quickly). I desperately need to make another purchase and want to try the Nimbus lite 3s, but I can’t really stomach paying that much money for shoes that are just homely. For the female version they have the ugliest color selection this year! 24 offers more of a variation, however the Nimbus 23‘s are on sale. Have you run in the 23s? Is there that big of a difference between the 24s &the 23s?

    • @Sabundy
      @Sabundy 2 года назад +2

    • @ebscoHOSTpub
      @ebscoHOSTpub 2 года назад

      @@Sabundy Yeah, that makes sense. Marketing serves a purpose and sometimes a small curveball like a gel or airpod, is what helps sell. For example, if a Peg 38 had no airpod, it would be a React Infinity 1/2 with a harder density react foam and diff upper.
      I imagine it works bc it is "expected" with consumers. When you think ASICS, you also kinda think gel. And w/ Nike maybe ZoomX AND Airpods, therefore React (an "older" foam") & Air pods.

      @@HH-gv8mx the Gel-Nimbus 23 was extremely comfortable and in this matter it was my shoe of 2021 . But it was just ok for me for running and the outsole was less durable then the 22s. The Gel-Nimbus 24 is a lot different then previous Nimbus, it is 100x more nimble and the fit is snugger so it is perfect for running and running fast too. But for walking and casual the 23s is still the best.
      Asics shoes are no longer the super durable as they were but they still last a good amount. The brands prefer to use a very soft and ultra comfortable outsole even if it will not last too long. Anyways, so far with 100 miles , my Gel-Nimbus 24 still looks like new and the outsole just got minor wear and tear. But I doubt it will last as long as like my Adidas Ultraboost 22 ... this shoe is one of the best tanks available right now in terms of overall durability and grip of the outsole. But still the Nimbus 24 is a more versatile shoe and it is fighting head to head with the UB22 to became my best high cushioning and overall shoe of the year for me.
      I hope that my feedback helps you.

      @MiracleWarriors Год назад +1

      @@wasifali1326 oh man , These two shoes will be my shoes if the year but even that the Gel-Nimbus 24 is more versatile and ultra fun to run fast with it I still prefer the Ultraboost 22 for slow runs . Because when running slowly I tend to heel strike more and the Ultraboost 22 is more stable and firmer on that area making its a more pleasurable run without making me waste energy overpronating too much worth every step in a low cadence run.
      No matter how heavy people thinks that the Ultraboost 22 is but it is still amazingly fun shoe to use to run. The only complaint I got with this Adidas shoe is that it needed two or three runs to "break" the Boost in the heel to make it a bit more soft landing.

    • @kofuzi
      @kofuzi  2 года назад +2

      I don't really want to buy the tool that measures stack height (especially as I think there is a bit of an art to figuring out exactly where to measure from), but we may be getting to that point, as I sometimes get conflicting numbers.
      if I were to guess, I would think this was a 30/20 stack height shoe. but it's hard to estimate from standing in the shoes. my estimation could be impacted by my socks, the insole, and the degree of compression that this foam expresses even under just standing pressure.

      I have the same sentiments as you regarding the women's colorways. And indeed, I, myself have bought mens size 6 or 6.5 (with Nike) just to get a color that excites me more. Some things to consider and look into: 1) for Asics shoes, the drop may be slightly higher for W compared to M shoes; 2) the stack heights may also differ between M and W; 3) M shoes may be slightly wider than W; 4) for Nike shoes with air pods, the M have higher PSI (firmer) than W shoes. I highly recommend trying them in store if you can to find out which size fits you best, and then buy the colorway you like online.
