Curious, how do you know if you’re in lockup or not?

You have to understand how your tranny operates. The v730 does lockup or not in 2nd. It feels like a shift, so a lot of people online mistakenly call the v730 a “4speed” and it is most certainly not. So when I’m in 2nd and I feel it “downshift” then I know it just dropped out of lockup.

@@ThisOldBus ah ok. I thought maybe you had some special indication light rigged up or something. I want to say I could 5-6 shifts on my 740. Some at TC lockup.

@@HimmelbergerBus the app I use for my dash can calculate the gear based on RPM and speed if you feed all the data into it for ratios and whatnot but that’s pretty low on the todo list… :)

Scott is the 4104's engine different than the 4106 engine? Which one was the better engine? How do you like the MCI coaches Greyhound develop and used after the demise of the GM's brands. Bob

4014s have a 6-71 inline engine and manual trans stock. They were underpowered, when the 4106 came out they upgraded to an 8v 71 engine. MCI’s are fine, but I prefer the style of the 4106.

@@ThisOldBus Scott, an old Scenicrusier drivers said they were real buses why do you think they said that...curious.

Which was real buses, the Scenicruiser or the 4104’s? Scenicruisers are cool, there is a video tour on my channel of one in mint condition. I have never ridden in one.
