- Today I can present to You the full Drive & Sound test with the all new 2015 / 2016 Volvo XC90 as the range-topping D5 Diesel delivering 225 hp and 470 Nm of torque. My thanks go to Mattusch Automobile in Kaiserstlautern (www.autohaus-mattusch.de) who ordered a large variety of new XC90 and made this test drive possible, great stuff! With this new XC90 Volvo really is back in high-class premium market and as previously said isn't only fighting the new X5 and Q7 with this but also going on pair with a Range Rover Vogue or a Porsche Cayenne on interior design and quality. You can instantly feel that the new D5 mated with the 8-speed transmission is a great power-train. Faster than a X5 25d (car magazines tested that) , more fuel efficient and very very quiet also at higher Autobahn speeds. If I heard correctly there is a Polestar Upgrade coming soon to 250 hp and 500 Nm for those wo want the extra punch on the Autobahn:) This particular car comes in the "inscription" trim which offers pretty much everything you could imagine. In addition to the 21 inch wheels there is the Bowers & Wilkins sound system which has 1.400 watts and is the best sound-system I have heard so far, especially compared to the recently tested Bang & Olufsen. @Maximilian Bartels - Die Bowers & Wilkins Anlage ist meiner Meinung nach das beste was man heutzutage standardmäßig in einem PKW ordern kann. Im direkten Vergleich zur B&O im Mercedes GLE mit deutlich mehr Bass und Raumklang....und das auch bei "normalen" Musikquellen.

Ich finde das Design extrem geil aber ich verstehe nicht, warum es keine 6 und 8 Zylinder gibt 4-zylinder klingen einfach scheiße!

Mann kann auch einen 6 Zylinder genauso effizient bauen, sieht man ja z. B. an bmw und Audi. Ich glaube das liegt eher an den geringeren fertigungskosten.

This car looks so cool! But the 4cylinder engines only..thats a huuuuge deal breaker. Wake up Volvo..or the selling results will you anyway. Thats so stupid. At the end..German's v6 diesels are more efficient and much much better to live with.

Vom Design sicherlich eines der interessantesten Fahrzeuge überhaupt. Mir würde nur etwas Leistung bei so einem schweren Auto fehlen...
beeeneee Mit dem Polestar Chip (250 PS) gehts sicherlich noch etwas flotter voran und damit auch auf gleichem Niveau wie ein GLE 350d den ich kürzlich getestet habe. Evtl. legt Volvo da ja in Zukunft auch nochmal nach.
+beeeneee Ich bin den D5 vor ein paar Wochen gefahren und war überrascht, wie gut der geht. Deutlich besser als mein 5-Zylinder D5! Von mangelnder Leistung hab ich wirklich nichts feststellen können.
+Automann-TV Es gibt ja auch noch den t8 mit 407 PS. Also da kann sich wirklich keiner mehr über mangelnde Leistung beschweren bei einer Beschleunigung von 5,5 Sekunden auf 100

Der schönste aktuelle SUV überhaupt, noch weit vor dem ´15 Q7. Leider wird man hier aber von jeden 150PS TDi überholt... Wirklich schade. XC90 + Audi 3,0 TDI 272 wäre ein Traum ;-(
Software Tuning und Anpassung automatikgetriebe.. und Zack ab gehts. Leistungssteigerung um 50 Ps.
Liegt der schlechtere Beschleunigungswert an den 275er Reifen? Volvo gibt ihn mit 7,8 Sekunden und 235ern an.
maxi01105970 Sicherlich auch an den Reifen, aber vor allem sicherlich an den 35 Grad Außentemperatur und der Tatsache, das der Motor mit seinen 1.800 km sicherlich noch nicht 100% seiner Leistung erlangt hat.

Ich bin der Meinung, dass der Motor nicht so stark für dieses Auto ist. Auch ist zu laut.
Er braucht mindest ein Zilinder mehr. Volvos D5 2.4 mit 250 ps wäre besser sein.

So stop complain about Volvos D5. I mean seriously, an XC90 is like a huge tank. Sure the 4-cylinder is noisy, but that doesn't mean its bad quality. Its a pretty strong engine for a 2 ton fat Volvo.

Die Front ist dieses Mal doch sehr gelungen. Das Heck gefällt mir aber gar nicht :(
Das ist aktuell das vermutlich hässlichste Automobil, das man für Geld kaufen kann. Es reiht sich in Design-Pannen hinter Ford Scorpio und Fiat Multipla ein. Innen sowie außen ein kompletter Totalausfall und der ergonomisch und optisch grauenvolle "Startknopf" schießt den Vogel ab. Danke für das Video, so wurde mir das alles sehr bewusst.
+Andreas Schmitz Der langweilige Durchschnittsdeutsche soll ruhig weiter den "Premium"-Schrott der Deutschen Hersteller fahren. Schliesslich müssen die Werkstätten auch leben... Viel Spaß mit dem Deutschen Müll.
Manche Zeitgenossen haben echt einen seltsamen Geschmack...

The XC90 weighs more than 2 tons... If a few less seconds to 200 are so important for you (which I can not understand!), why you are interested in a SUV?
what you don't understand is that a 4 0r 5 cylinders engine underr 2200 chilos of car it's not enough. u can tel me what ever you want but these car under 40 degree hot weather will make no more then 120 hp. after 2 gears pull will be like a 1.3 n/a. but if you like it just buy it. it's a chinese car 100%. i lived in china 12 years designing cars . u think i dont know my shit. volvo and alfa romeo are going to disappear becouse they sell economic cars as premium. u buy it for 60k and after 2 years worth 7500 euros.

Sehr schönes SUV. Aber den Sound finde ich katastrophal!! Hört sich sehr billig an und ist in dieser Klasse ein "no go"! Da fühlt man sich doch nicht wie in einem Premiumautomobil, sondern wie in einem gewerblich genutzten Ford Transit. Eigentlich gehören in so ein Auto nur 6 oder 8 Zylinder. Der 4 Zylinder funktioniert in dieser Klasse einfach nicht. Jeder der sich für dieses Auto interessiert, sollte erstmal in einem X5 30d eine Probefahrt machen. Den Untrschied wird man sofort merken. Wenn wenigstens der 5 Zylinder bei Volvo überlebt hätte... Schade Volvo!!!!

Volvo give us the silky smooth in-line 6 or at least the well established in-line 5!
