- After 16 months of ownership, what are the worst things about the new Volvo XC90? What do I hate about it?
We take a look at the interior after 45000 miles, or 72000 kilometers to see how it'd held up. How much wear and tear has there been? And how do I keep it clean and looking fresh?

He would be called totally biased if he said there was nothing to complain about. He isn't catering to the American market, he is catering to his market, and in his market, that is something you would have to consider before getting a XC90.

@Austin P Great point! I think so. If you count the steering wheel, the tires, the rear-view mirrors and a few other things... on a Ford Fiesta those things are features.

Hello. What can you say about water leak from the sun roof?
You're due a vehicle upgrade, as of week 17 the cars get a new updated software, changes the CCD layout a little, makes the home screen icons larger.
Kris...your white XC90 looks very large in that garage. While living in Germany, I had a similar issue with exiting the parking garage for the apartment I living. My 2005 XC90 was a tight fit but my 2016 XC90 was tricky getting in and out of the garage as well. My biggest complaint is the voice recognition function for the navigation, oh my God the worst and most annoying. I've had my XC90 for over 1 year and 9 months and not once have I been about to enter a street address using the voice recognition function, super annoying for a modern car with such a high tech personality. Lastly, Drive select. For some reason drive select does not remain in the mode I last selected...annoying. The best thing I love about my XC90 is it makes me feel like I am driving something very special very day. As you stated, "I guess you can't have everything".
Great music selection as well. I miss driving in Europe so much, very beautiful drive scenes...love it.

Sorry to heat about the issues with your XC90. Voice recognition does not work in Norwegian, so it's pretty much useless. But no car manufacturer makes it in Norwegian, so I just don't think about it :P Thanks mate!
Staggering how many negative comments and "thumbs down" this video has. Even a great car can have small annoyances. I found this video informative.
If this was the only video on the xc90 from this youtuber then maybe you could make a case for him being a bit negative, but since he has done lots of videos on what he loves about it I don't understand the complaints at all.

I have the old one with the 2.5T and it's adequate.
Yeah, but the new ones have a super charged and turbo charged 2.0 v4 in the US making me a little unsure.
I know, I am driving one currently.. A black T6 (it's not a V4, it's inline) Inscription, and it's much quicker than my 2.5T, which gets the job done.
Great pointers, about the autostop: doesnt it take more fuel to turn the car on instead of just leave it running? especially on the newer Volvos models? btw how did you buy these beautiful but yet expensive luxury car at your young age. I mean it goes for about 1 000 000 swedish krowns. If you dont mind me asking. Keep up the good work.

Volvo xc 90 Excellence ligger runt en miljon men den han har skulle jag tippa ligger mellan 6-700 tusen. Sedan finns ju leasingavtal också där man betalar i månaden för bilen!
Voice control for start-stop would be even better. Or it should have both an easily accessible button and voice control. On my own car I have moved the start-stop widget to be on its own at the top corner nearest me. I've moved the camera widget just below it diagonally, so both are as easily accessible as the car allows them to be.
Another thing I hate is the need to press and turn and press the roller dial again to select dynamic mode, which is every other car's 'Sport' mode. Why they couldn't actuate Dynamic by simply pushing the gear lever to the side like every other modern car is one of life's mysteries.
Come on Volvo, at least make the start-stop voice controllable!

Well, it seems that tablet screen in a car is not so ideal. A friend of mine who has a new xc90 complains that he has to put his reading glasses every time he wants to look at that screen. And that destracts him from driving. It is much better to have buttons wich you find with "half a look". But it is clear that tablet screens are much cheaper for car companies than to engineer and produce a high quality button!
Realy sad that the US version will show rear camera instead of 360 when put into reverse after the new Sensus update
US version does 360 camera. It is a setting.
texan632 It used to be, it was changed due to Federal Laws that applies to all new cars. But somehow Volvo decide to apply the law also to the 2016 and 2017 models.

I just leased the 2017 XC90 on 9/3017 and I HATE EVERYTHING about this vehicle!!!!! I hate it so bad that I now have a timer on my iPhone to track the days before I can rid of log wagon with a 4 cylinder! Why I ever thought I might like a “safe” Volvo over a “performance” BMW is now beyond me! Did I mention how bad I HATE THIS CAR! But, I bought it, so my bad! Counting down the days.......
..not really a big surprise that a woman would buy a vehicle without asking questions, or doing any kind of research ino the vehicle prior to purhasing it!...In the future, research Consumer Reports ratings, complaints, problems, specifications, RUclips, common dealer questions, and Better Business Bureau complaints of Volvo, & American dealerships!- GOOD LUCK!
