Guys, the reason you are so popular is because you are so genuine, humble and knowledgeable at the same time. You are doing something you love and it comes across in the videos. Thank you!
Older vid but the recommendations presented are still as valid as ever. I'd like to add a couple of suggestions to any watching this for the first time. 1- Bring the clubs you play with now and hit your warm ups with them. This will give you some added comfort level and offer the fitter a baseline from which to build on. 2- If you have data collected from Arccos or some other app, bring it along or email it ahead of time to the fitter, so they can glance at it ahead of time. 3- Bring a sleeve of the golf ball you game. Particularly important if it's a model they may not stock to hit in the bay. 4- Above all, communicate with your fitter so he clearly understands your goals and the issues in your game that you're looking to improve, along with the budget you're prepared to put towards finding the best combo to gain that performance. Hope this helps and adds to your fitting experience. Play well.
If you were in Australia, i'd be jumping on a plane myself. You guys are so genuine and humble it just creates a massive amount of trust. You're never acting like salesmen. I went for a driver fitting yesterday, the bloke said he didn't want to see me hit my current driver, changed my set up, changed my swing, then put one driver in my hands and told me thats the one for me. I asked about moving the weights in it to make it more forgiving and he told me i can buy the tool when i buy the driver to be able to move them myself when i get home. So naturally i'm now looking for somewhere else to go get a driver fitting done.
This is THE BEST video that I have seen on getting the most out of a club fitting! This is great advice to anyone who is thinking about getting fit and allows them to set their expectations going in! I will be sharing this video with everyone I know before they go into a fitting! It also helps me prepare for my fit with TXG in a couple weeks! Can't wait!
Just had a session with Ian, without doubt the best money I've spent on anything to do with golf. Being over 60 and a newbie to the game, Ian put me completely at ease. Love these videos, great work guys.
Unfortunately, I am in that "50+" category who enjoys your content and admires the integrity with which you operate. Life is a game of opposites, much like golf: The more you give, the more you get. It's a spiritual principle that has every-day-life applications. Please never forget this, and you're golden. BTW, really like the chapter markers.
You guys are amazing! As for the last mention on budget... I did a fitting a few days ago, and I personally have been blessed enough in my career to not have to worry about budget (I say that with as much humility as you all carry in your videos). But I didn't know if I should mention my budget to the fitter as I was unsure if that would cause him to fit me into something that I really didn't need. After getting to know him, I could tell that he was honest and wouldn't do steer me in the wrong direction (especially after he suggested that I don't get a new 3-wood head but, instead, just change the shaft). So finally, I eased into the idea that budget didn't matter to me much, and I got a very good shaft in my new driver that I cannot wait to hit on the course. But certainly, that was a concern of mine and it took awhile to get to where I was comfortable sharing that with him. Just wanted to share my experience. I ultimately did get fitted for the clubs I wanted and I am happy (haven't tried them on course yet but the numbers are significantly better than my old clubs). But it took us awhile to get there because I didn't openly walk in and share my budget... Do you guys think that consumers may be a little TOO frightened of sharing their budget? Or should be be weary of this kinda thing?
I’m the .01% that do walk through the door for a fitting and at 55 a member of the 50 plus group. I’ve had my clubs for 6-7 rounds now. The fairway woods were instant improvement and the driver is tighter dispersion for sure. Just getting the irons coming into their own now. Looking forward to reducing my handicap. Thanks Ian, you’re among the best!
I'm glad you talking about fittings, if you have driving range that let you demos, try as many different clubs you can then you can tell the fitter which ones you like and reasons and that the fitter to come up with the best clubs for you.
Having booked in for a driver fitting this week, this is gold to me. I had a bad fitting experience with one of the large UK retailers about a year and a half ago. Having just come back to the game after an 8 year layoff I feel I was duped into buying an expensive driver when I was nowhere near ready. The salesman (that's all he was) could probably sense my eagerness to get playing & took advantage of that. Now though 18 months later I'm ready, & this video has gave me some great knowledge to take with me. Fantastic work guys, love the channel. 👍🏻
I think it’s fair to say also guys , people go to fittings usually with a preconception of what they want , as in they already have a pretty good idea of what they want , for example they have one or 2 favorite drivers in mind , but upon completing the fitting they’ve been put into something else altogether that the fitter found was better suited for the individual by facts , the client can’t refute the facts but isn’t happy really because they wanted the latest Taylormade driver . We often want something that doesn’t suite our skill level , blades would be an easier example ,everyone loves blades but not all are consistent enough to game them . Your comment about 50+ guys coming to get fit from far away is correct , everyone would love to come , but 35-50 is where men hit their most financial peak in earnings and stability and can afford the trip , under that they are busy climbing the ladder and using funds to set up their life .always great videos guy very informative . I think it’s pretty obvious the popularity of your content and they great way you can explain the technical to the general players that every single golfer would love to get fit with you guys ,would be a dream , I guess it should be the same everywhere but the reality is it’s not , you guys are what we are judging every other fitter against .
For what it's worth, I would love to head up to Canada to get a proper fitting to know that my clubs are adjusted to my swing. You do a great job not only keeping an open mind about all equipment and combinations but also keeping in mind what is best for the player's game - not just trying to push a specific product.
This particular video has a wealth of good information in it, so thank you for making the time to produce it. Fitters around the world should be sending you two thank you notes for sending them more informed customers who will spend their time (and their fitters’ time) more productively. I was fit five or six years ago by a top Ping fitter into a set of i20 irons. No launch monitor data, just ball flight. I have no complaints, but I am looking forward to a fitting for a new set of irons this summer, and will be much better prepared for it.
What Ian and Matt are talking about here is 100% true, I came in for a fitting and was 100% nervous and was worried not so much about being judged but most so about my ability to make good shot. I had a terrible time hitting my driver that day, so we just moved on to the irons and Mike and I nailed that part of the fit. Biggest thing I can suggest before going to your fitting is demo a bunch of different clubs and come with some what of an idea of what you like. It will make the fitters job so much easier and you the much more confident in hitting clubs you’ve already have a feel for
When I did my fitting sessions with TXG I felt zero sales pressure. In fact, I recall asking Chris, who did my fitting in Burlington, “ do you guys actually build everything?”. It was kind of a duh question since their well equipped workshop was right there, but it really was a comfortable situation. Matt’s comment about the importance of talking to your fitter throughout the process is so important. When we were fitting iron shafts we tried a lot of graphite shafts (I’m old and creaky) and we’re getting nowhere; I mentioned to Chris that I couldn’t feel any of the shafts delivering a kick through impact. He heard what I said and came back with a Nippon Zelos 7 steel shaft, a very light steel shaft. It was absolutely perfect. I’ve been thinking that I’ve been playing the wrong shafts for a long time but didn’t know where to go to find the solution. I hate to sound like an infomercial but TXG is filling a huge void in the golf business.
shit, if you opened one in California you guys would own the west coast all the way to Texas BUT as a business man i wouldnt open ANYTHING in this shithole state!!
I’ve watched and learned from hundreds of hours of TXG video. I could not thank you guys enough for what you do. My take on the demographic of who gets to come see you I would think as a 29 year old is simply a money thing. I just think a 50+ has the extra cash to fly from the US and pay for a fit & new clubs more often than a younger person not to say we don’t want to come equally as bad. If there was aTXG closer in the states for sure we would be lining up! Thank you for everything you guys do!
We need you guy's in new Jersey,,this is the one of the best channels on RUclips,,a personal heart felt thanks to you guys for the knowledge and wisdom you guys are sharing with the golfing community,,A big heart felt thank you from my heart!!!!
Thanks to you guys I've splurged for a club fitting with Club Champion. The information you are sharing is fascinating. I love golf even more now, looking to finally end my driver nightmares
Ian, Matt, absolutely love your channel and all the great info you provided. Thanks so much. I am over 65. When I did my driver fitting I took two Aleve prior. That allowed me to hit about 60 drives before running out of gas. Working with a great fitter like yourself is real privilege and a real learning experience. It’s actually a lot of fun.
Hey Guys, I'm 81 and have watched you > 1 yr and have learned a lot. I learned to play at 16 using Ben Hogan's Power Golf. Just reread my original and paid 25 cents for it new. Keep up the good work.
I’m 72 watch your videos all the time and enjoy them. I’m getting an iron and wedge fitting in Naples Florida tomorrow at True Spec Golf. Looking forward to it
I had a fitting at Club champion last weekend and was nervous and frustrated. Felt great at the end when everything was dialed in. Wish I would have seen this video prior to going. Thank you for the info. This was great content for someone who is ready to be fitted for the first time.
I'm definitely in the 50+ age group of watchers. There are golfers all over the place - and limited numbers of fitting studios and pro lessons. And, some of us may have had equivocal experiences with lessons in the past. RUclips is a buffet of coaching/fitting styles and personalities. A fantastic resource. A future discussion of 'what to look for' might be a helpful guide for those of us that are a bit more jaded...?
Matt & Ian, not sure if you follow comments from your older videos, but I just watched the "Get The Most Of Your Fitting" Video. Although I'd love to come out and visit your shop, I'll be heading in the other direction. I'll be visiting Glendale, Arizona for 10 days, this Thanksgiving. I'm planning on stopping into one, of two different locations, to go through a complete club fitting. I'd really like to purchase a new set of clubs, to help me improve my game. I've had so many rounds, that are just shy of being fantastic. Getting clubs set up for me, may just be the thing I need. I too, am one of the higher handicappers, and your videos, along with the information you provide, are extremely helpful. Thanks again!
You guys are taking golf to the next level! I can definitely see the all around performance being the future and the vision for TXG and steering the game in the right direction. It’s about tying together equipment performance, technique, and how you play the game on the course. I think you guys, Shawn Clement, and Vision 54 should collaborate to make everything blend together. I can see you guys having your own air time on the golf channel and getting the right information, in a holistic way, out to all us.That’s what will help grow the game !
I have become a TXG junkie. I sent an email yesterday with some questions regarding getting fit. I got a quick response and thank you for that. Couple that with this video and I feel I will be better prepared and provide tendencies to the fitter and what I am looking to gain, Thanks again.
You guys are the greatest, always informative and crystal clear in delivery , there are many fitting studios around but sadly they have less than half your knowledge kudos to you Ian , it is truly amazing just how much difference it makes having clubs fitted , tuned . Distanced control ,dispersion and constantly hitting the club face centrally , I often watch people buying clubs off the shelf and think to myself in that state they would be flat out hitting an airport runway let alone a fairway or green , and then seeing them out on the course rummaging through the trees trying to find golf balls ,, but excited about how far they hit it , especially those new to golf who really have no idea what they need , this is where a few lessons and properly fit clubs would make such a huge difference, and we would see fewer people dropping off from this amazing game . Keep up the great work guys 👍
Getting my first fitting ever on Friday. I’d be lost if it wasn’t for this channel and all the great catalog of content. One day I’m crossing the border for a proper TXG experience.
another note to add bring your current clubs you are getting fit for! if you are going to get a driver fitting bring your current driver so you can compare numbers. same with an iron fitting bring your current 6/7 iron with you. ask for a few minutes in the bay to hit balls with your current clubs and warm up and get comfortable it makes a big difference
I watch quite a lot of RUclips, and every time I get back to watch your channel the quality of the videos baffles me and makes it so enjoyable to watch. Everything from video and audio quality to content, pacing and your personal performances. Top, top, top class! Would love to go through a fitting of your standard some time. Best regards from a Swedish fan.
Something I’d love to hear your opinion about is how to handle a fitting if you as a player have a specific type of club in mind. Or in other words, pre conceived ideas of what you feel you’ll be fit into. I know many people may go into a fitting thinking: “I want blades or a thin cavity instead of game improvement.” Recommendations on having or not having pre conceived ideas of what clubs you should be fit into? (Not necessarily brands but head styles like blades)
I was planning on doing a fitting in about 3 years, but after finding this channel and binge watching videos, I really don't know if I can wait that long!!! lol
Wanted to watch this again. Such a great vid and all good points. The fitting that I don't think worked for me was when I was in the middle of a pretty big swing change. My swing was all over the place. However, now that I think about it, as my swing improved so did the fit of the driver to me. That was my G30 fitting. I am in the middle of another one now, and now that the rain is done for a bit, I will get back after it. Maybe a trip to TO has to be in my plans this summer. Man, I miss that City.
Great video Ian and Matt. Way to dedicate and breakdown the expectations and what to ask during a golf fitting. It really makes a world of a difference
That was a very useful Vid Guys for anyone contemplating having a Club fitting. Having had a fitting with Ian earlier this month I would like to add a few insights. Firstly if you are having a full Bag fitting do it over several sessions if possible. The fitting process is tiring both physically and emotionally, the first session you will be nervous and a little anxious, but by the follow-on sessions you will be more relaxed and confident. These sessions will therefore be more productive. Secondly don`t regard the fitting as the end of the process, in fact for me it was the start of my process to improve as a Golfer. My fitting highlighted a swing flaw that I had been trying to work around rather than confront head on. Following my return home to the UK, I decided to work through a few swing suggestions that Ian made during my fitting. So I have now engaged a new Coach and have constructed a plan to correct a poor Grip (too weak) and improve my swing plane which was too out to in. I`m not expecting a quick fix, (in fact I don`t want a quick fix) instead I want to work on the changes over several months so that the improvements become permanent rather than temporary. And next Season, "The Bandit is gonna Kick some Arse"!!!!!!
I love the depth and length of this video! These are much better then the 12 minute short videos please keep up with the longer versions of these topics
Part of our quest to please as many viewers as we can, we'll be doing a mix of video lengths though so don't worry, we'll still mix in long ones like this when appropriate.
Ok guys I'm 61 and I watch every video. Guess I am data nut. Just had my irons adjusted because I am always changing things in an attempt to improve. Lower handle at impact, had to go flatter . I am 5'7" and would love to see something on getting the right length clubs in the bag. Thanks for another great video.
I have to say guys my three fittings have been very disappointing - I did lots of research trying to find the best club fitter in my area but after watching your fitting process I realize I got taken! 3 driver / iron fittings and 1 putter fitting! I believed that the boxed stores aren’t club fitters but club sellers and are only interested in selling you a clubs from there inventory! Even the club fitters fell into the same category - I was expecting an independent prospect but the opposite occurred! So I’ve become very skeptical of the whole process!
Peter Crocitto don’t let a few bad apples discourage you Peter there are good and bad people in any industry. We are working on creating a list of club fitters that we trust will do a good job across North America and Europe. This should help eliminate these types of experiences.
Ian Fraser I’ll be interested in seeing this list when it comes available- I be interested in coming up to your center as well. I can also visit with Shawn Clement who is my coach.
I can tell you from first hand experience, until retiring away from the UK 20 months ago, the "Box Stores" have one thing ONLY in mind....which set of clubs do we get the most profit from!!! Example..I didnt tell a particular "American named box store in UK" my handicap, which was 9 at the time (and improving), and I was playing with bladed clubs that needed updating, and after them doing their analysis they recommended a Jack Nicholas starter set.!!!!!! Need I say more??? If you do not have an independent fitter near by, you can always use your Club Pro and ask his recommendation, and take it from there. TXG is a TRUE, unbiased, customer focused, professional company, well done lads.

I got fitted for the first time ever the other day, never even had a lesson before. I got to hit on a launch monitor it was pretty awesome. He gave me a few tips to fix my massive hook. I got a lot of work to do but at least i get to do it with some brand new big Berthas. Thanks for inspiring me to get fitted, maybe ill break 90 a few more times this year 😂
Thank you for this video! I am going in today for my very first fitting! Live in Phoenix AZ so I am taking advantage of the ping fitting. I’m pumped thanks again!
Ive never watched so many longer videos than normal and felt like they were so short. its so easy to watch and see time disappear because of how incredibly informative and diligent you two are with your content. seriously my favorite golf channel ever. Are there any club fitters you could recommend in the chicago area? I know club champion is highly reviewed, but I want to be able to look up the specific person and havent seen a way to look that up?
You guys are unbelievably awesome. I'm from Michigan and we're planning on attending the Canadian Open in June, and really hoping to be able to set up a fitting while we're in town.
At 64 I have been on RUclips for 10 years. Don't count us Baby Boomers out. LOL. Great point about practicing before getting fit. I was itching to get new clubs at the beginning of the season and a friend mentioned that was a bad time to get fitted. I instead this Spring took a few lessons and then got in a lot of practice and my league started and then decided. Best thing I did was wait. I am now getting used to my new irons and playing much better golf. Thanks guys for agreat channel.
I would love nothing more than to fly to ON to be fitted by you guys. I live in Nebraska. However, I doubt that's feasible, maybe, but doubtful. If I do go elsewhere (local) to get fitted the info you've provided is very useful. Thanks Matt and Ian!
Much respect for the 86 year old man that came in for a fitting. I'm almost 61 and blame my bad golf on my age. He puts me to shame. It proves the saying that golf is a game you can enjoy your whole life.
Inspirational stuff chaps. Great sharing, only 2 issues, one that we're on lockdown and two youre in Canada.... otherwise I'd be with you in a shot, as feel you're openness and attention to detail is outstanding. The difficulty will be having a fitting with anyone else as you've raised the bar incredibly high.
You'll l likely get many people traveling to TXG to get fit IMO. You guys are the best and obviously care about your clients in many ways. Having recently gone through a fit at a well known international fitting chain, I left feeling like, #1 I couldn't ever afford my fit (approx $5000 for a full set which is unrealistic for an average golfer) and although there was no pressure to buy left me feeling a bit hopeless, and #2 that I really don't have any other fitting options out there locally. Honestly feel like a win win for customers might be a tiered package approach to purchase of a par package (reasonable set that includes most features of the fit, shafts, lofts/lie, heads etc), birdie package (same but slightly more premium parts) and eagle package that is top of the line components. Anyway. Thx guys. Have to gt my passport renewed and save some $$ to come see you for a fit. Ken
I should have watched this video before getting a driver fitting. I was a bit disappointed that not much emphasis was given to swing weight. You guys seem to talk a good amount of that with head weight and shaft balance. Thanks for the videos. I will be better prepared for my hybrid fitting. My wife did want to take a trip to Canada...
Great info for the person looking to get fit. Amazing insight to what to expect and the knowledge of can I really afford a custom set. I'm having my son fitted for a set for high school golf and really apprehensive of the final cost of the set.
Great video lads! I've only just recently found the channel and I think it's great. I have a driver fitting in a couple of days and this video has answered questions I had.
Fist, Thank you for making this video! This Channel is amazing! I have a long fitting scheduled for this Saturday with my Local Club Champion and wanted to ask a few questions. 1) When you are fitting your clients or PGA professionals, what is the typical gap a player should between the Driver and 3 wood (carry distance ), and how do you know which direction to take the next club down ? I was think Driving iron (2) or 5 wood. 2) Do you believe "purring" ( club champion recommended ) the shaft is worth the extra $? 3) How many swings should the player have to feel comfortable they have enough data to rely on ? " i don't want to feel that i didn't have enough swings because the 'fitter' thinks we have enough. Greatly appreciate your feedback thank you guys!
1) Gap will depend on swing speed, but usually somewhere between 20-40 yards 2) Shaft puring can be worthwhile for some shafts, but others are built to a manufacturing tolerance that makes puring unnecessary - ask your fitter what they recommend 3) 40-60 swings is ideal
Hey guys! I'm from Buffalo, NY and am looking to get a fitting. Looking around here, there aren't a ton of fitters. Could either of you shoot me a message, I would like to learn more about your fitting process, cost, and location to see if it would be worthwhile for me to make the drive to Toronto! You guys seem very knowledgable and show that you truly care about helping the golfer finding their fit instead of just making a quick buck. Let me know!!
This is my favorite of all the videos you guys have done. I have done a couple fittings and this detailed account of what we as the fittee (don't think that is a real word but oh well) has me so excited for my fitting with Ian towards the end of this year. Will definitely be checking this video again before I make the trip.
Where would I fly to for you guys,I've watched your interactions with the guys your fitting top notch. I've had a fitting where I go and the guy was locked on the guy in the both next to me he was bombing it .the irons I got did work well but no interaction.no feed back.went back next time for driver different fitter great feed back I left with a driver that wasn't on my list and I'm in the fairway alot.
Hi Iain and Matt, hope you are both well. I am going to be fit for irons on Saturday at SGGT Edinburgh, Scotland after watching your channel. I currently have a set of Ping 1500's with px 6.0, however the shaft/head combo is not working. I have changed coach and I'm looking forward to my fitting and trying to get my handicap down.
Great video, with some great insights. Lots to take on board, i can see why people travel from far and wide to come and see you, when i decide to change my irons you guys will certainly be right up there to come and see even coming from the UK
I play a set of Mizuno Jpx 850. Maybe 4 or 5 years old. I love the clubs and have taken good care of them. With my handicap coming down from about 28 to 16 should I look to get fit into a newer mid-handicap set?
Just recently found your RUclips channel and really loving the content so far. This is one of the best videos and really highlights how honest you guys are. All of the anxieties that I would certainly feel going in to a fitting you’ve explained and I would definitely feel more confident having a full custom fit experience here in the UK. Is there any where you would recommend In the South of England that has the same fundamentals as TXG? If I had the money and time I would be flying to Canada to meet you guys! 😆
Superb video gents! I turn 50 this December so that will give me an excuse to give myself a late Christmas / Birthday present and book a trip to TXG next Spring. 😉
I would like to see a video about SST Puring. Does it help in steel shafts or only graphite? Was wondering if you pure your steel iron shafts in your builds. Maybe have same Matt hit his driver with a pured shaft then hit it in the non pured position and lets see what happens. Just a suggestion, keep up the good work
As a new golfer, would it be a good idea to get fitted for clubs if I’m still learning the basics and fundamentals? In part it makes sense to me that if I’m going to get into this that I should have the proper equipment that fits me best. But on the other hand I wonder if I should wait until I have more experience before getting fitted. Any input will be appreciated. Love the channel guys!
Like everyone who plays this most bewitching of games, TXG will always have something of interest, accessible "Tech" but never dummed down. Of ALL of your stuff, I reckon that this offering plus the stuff that you did with Sam for his Driver (blew My mind btw), his irons and wedges really gave Me delicious food for thought. So, once again, thank you. As StuBoy said a year ago, time for TXG-UK and never mind Scotland, there are more Golfers and courses in, on and near The Mersey than anywhere else in The UK. Oh, and I live and play there. I'd be fascinated if you were to revisit Sam's story. Did he follow your fitting advice ? Has he improved, if so, how much ? There are a lot "Sams" out here. Take Care and Stay Safe. And given the time of year that I'm posting. Seasons Greetings Ian & Matty and TXG'ers.
Guys, Thanks for your information. I'm 72 years young, a bigger golfer 6 ft weight 250. Downswing tend to get steep. 7 iron club head speed is 70 mph, carry seven iron 140 yards. In the past i have been fitted at + 1/2 inch and 2 degrees upright. with my club head speed should I go the graphite shafts. Would graphite and upright be a good place to start? Thank you.
Guys, great video as always! I am a high handicap from Brazil and follow you since the first video. I almost scheduled a driver fitting with you. Unfortunately, the conference I was going to in Toronto got canceled! Maybe next year! Congratulations for the nice channel!
Thank you, guys. I am scheduled for a fitting in a couple of weeks. I decided to do an iron fitting first as that is my priority, and then do a separate fitting for Driver, 3W and H. Also, some brands provide free shaft upgrades. Does that apply in a custom fit scenario?
Thanks fellas. That was very informative and I feel less anxious along with the idea of having a better game plan going to my full bag fitting next week.
Great video and advice glad I watched this one guys. I think it’s important to keep an open mind and forget your ego and even brand preference and see what happens! As amateurs we can choose the best in each category after all we’re not contracted to play a particular brand.
I'm planning to get my first club fitting later this year, I was hoping I would be able to go to TXG but given the COVID restrictions it looks like that won't be possible :( But this video and all the others are unreal prep material for me and are really what's inspired me to even get fitted in the first place. If you ever open a NorCal location I'll be one of the first in line for that!
Guys, the reason you are so popular is because you are so genuine, humble and knowledgeable at the same time. You are doing something you love and it comes across in the videos. Thank you!
👍👍
Thank you, we really do love our community and we’ll continue to give you guys the best content that we possibly can.

2 Years later and this video still holds up. Getting fitted later this week and video really helps.
How your fitting go? What did you buy?
Older vid but the recommendations presented are still as valid as ever.
I'd like to add a couple of suggestions to any watching this for the first time.
1- Bring the clubs you play with now and hit your warm ups with them.
This will give you some added comfort level and offer the fitter a baseline
from which to build on.
2- If you have data collected from Arccos or some other app, bring it along
or email it ahead of time to the fitter, so they can glance at it ahead of time.
3- Bring a sleeve of the golf ball you game. Particularly important if it's a
model they may not stock to hit in the bay.
4- Above all, communicate with your fitter so he clearly understands your goals
and the issues in your game that you're looking to improve, along with the budget
you're prepared to put towards finding the best combo to gain that performance.
Can't wait!
Thanks Mitch!!
I’m 68 and watch you all the time. I wish it was feasible for me to come to you for a fitting. Keep it going and Thanks for the integrity.
Just had a session with Ian, without doubt the best money I've spent on anything to do with golf. Being over 60 and a newbie to the game, Ian put me completely at ease. Love these videos,
great work guys.

I have a driver fitting this afternoon.Really glad I watched this video.
👍👍👍👍
Sounds like it is time to open a TXG SoCal.
SoTX
Yes... ..Please one in LOS ANGELES Area...🌇👍
One in Austin TX to!!!
Yes Austin and So Cal seem like get moves
shit, if you opened one in California you guys would own the west coast all the way to Texas BUT as a business man i wouldnt open ANYTHING in this shithole state!!
Used this info for a driver & 3 wood fitting today.
The tips made me feel confident that I got the most out of my fitting.
Thanks gentlemen!
Awesome!
Your content is the best! I just sent this video to a friend and now I'm watching it again as I'm about to get re-fitted myself.
For sure the best video yet. A few more overtime.shifts and I'll be in to see you guys!
We need you guy's in new Jersey,,this is the one of the best channels on RUclips,,a personal heart felt thanks to you guys for the knowledge and wisdom you guys are sharing with the golfing community,,A big heart felt thank you from my heart!!!!
I am about to start my career as a fitter and I hope I can bring the same knowledge and passion that you guys do.
Congrats and hope the career is goin well. That’s awesome!
In anticipation of my Feb 2022 fitting at the Toronto Facility, I had to re-watch this episode. See ya soon. Mike KERR
It’s actually a lot of fun.
hi2meb thank you, we really appreciate you guys and you give us the fuel to keep providing the best content we can!!
Thanks Dylan!
Loved watching Sam's fitting, but neat insight about his feelings of failure/failing the channel..Not to worry, Sam, you were great!
I have become a TXG junkie. I sent an email yesterday with some questions regarding getting fit. I got a quick response and thank you for that. Couple that with this video and I feel I will be better prepared and provide tendencies to the fitter and what I am looking to gain, Thanks again.
Our pleasure John!
Pure class from you guys and your philosophy. That is far too rare in golf shops.
Mike Martinelli thanks Mike!!
Joe Wilkes appreciate the support Joe!!
Getting my first fitting ever on Friday. I’d be lost if it wasn’t for this channel and all the great catalog of content. One day I’m crossing the border for a proper TXG experience.
You guys are truly special and I only wish I lived closer to Toronto. Great information, thank you.
another note to add bring your current clubs you are getting fit for! if you are going to get a driver fitting bring your current driver so you can compare numbers. same with an iron fitting bring your current 6/7 iron with you. ask for a few minutes in the bay to hit balls with your current clubs and warm up and get comfortable it makes a big difference
Thanks for the information. I'm getting fitted for a driver soon and I think the video will help.
Getting ready for a new driver and 3 wood in the near future. These are great tips. Appreciate the honesty and overview.
This was awesome and fantastically honest and refreshing
I watch quite a lot of RUclips, and every time I get back to watch your channel the quality of the videos baffles me and makes it so enjoyable to watch. Everything from video and audio quality to content, pacing and your personal performances. Top, top, top class! Would love to go through a fitting of your standard some time.
Best regards from a Swedish fan.
👍👍 Thanks!!
Thank you, we’d love to visit Sweden soon!!
You two should do a course vlog in the future.
I was planning on doing a fitting in about 3 years, but after finding this channel and binge watching videos, I really don't know if I can wait that long!!! lol
I live in Massachusetts and am seriously considering coming for a fitting with you Ian. By far the best in the business. Love you guys
Been an avid follower of your videos. 100% echo all the compliments and praise for your work. Please plan a trip to Asia!
stryker2828 thank you!! 🙌🏻
Great video again guys!! Glove review and mid-handicap woman player fitting videos would be really nice to see!
Guys thanks for doing this video. I’ve been considering going for a fit and had some concerns. This video alleviated them.
Shoot imma be one of those I’m saving up some money so early next year I can come up there and get fitted by y’all.
I cannot wait to come for a fitting g once everything clears up. This really settled me down. Thank you matt and ian
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks Clive, we appreciate your support and hope we can do our part to influence positive changes across the golf equipment industry.
@@clubchampionmedia Always willing to support professional people to help golf grow, and if you ever want to visit and/or golf in Malaysia, please come and visit our Expats Golf Society with over 120 players, you will always be welcome 🏌️♂️🏌️♀️
Very informative video, thank you so much. Wonderful information and delivered very well. I wish I lived closer!
Jay McGillicuddy great to hear Jay!!
Thanks for the help, going for a fit in a week and this was really helpful. Thanks!
I would love nothing more than to fly to ON to be fitted by you guys. I live in Nebraska. However, I doubt that's feasible, maybe, but doubtful. If I do go elsewhere (local) to get fitted the info you've provided is very useful. Thanks Matt and Ian!
I am getting fitted tomorrow at the taylormade lab and this video really helped me understand what I should do! Thank you so much!!
You guys are the very best. Period
Excellent video guys, one can only hope other fitters out there share your beliefs.
Much respect for the 86 year old man that came in for a fitting. I'm almost 61 and blame my bad golf on my age. He puts me to shame. It proves the saying that golf is a game you can enjoy your whole life.
John White it sure is John and we value having you with us on the channel!!
Ken
I'm planning on travelling to see the Seahawks next season and coming to see you guys. With my clubs, from the UK! You guys nail it.
Outstanding, really appreciate the advice!!!
Appreciate if you guys could discuss how swing weight determine swing speed, ball flight etc.
Great tips!! I’m going for a long game fitting this weekend and this video helps my anxiety.
1) Gap will depend on swing speed, but usually somewhere between 20-40 yards
2) Shaft puring can be worthwhile for some shafts, but others are built to a manufacturing tolerance that makes puring unnecessary - ask your fitter what they recommend
3) 40-60 swings is ideal
40-60 for a single club fitting (or irons or wedges fitting), you'll hit more if you're doing the full bag
I don’t know if you’re staying up late or getting early, but thanks for the content and the hard work!
This is my favorite of all the videos you guys have done. I have done a couple fittings and this detailed account of what we as the fittee (don't think that is a real word but oh well) has me so excited for my fitting with Ian towards the end of this year. Will definitely be checking this video again before I make the trip.
Rogelio Ortega thank you Rogelio, we hoped you guys would like this one. Appreciate the support.
Great video! Please get back to fitting sessions for various golfers. Matt's left-handed insane power swing does nothing for my game.
Superb video gents! I turn 50 this December so that will give me an excuse to give myself a late Christmas / Birthday present and book a trip to TXG next Spring. 😉
Sounds like a great idea to us Chris!
Would love to have you in Chris!!
I would like to see a video about SST Puring. Does it help in steel shafts or only graphite? Was wondering if you pure your steel iron shafts in your builds. Maybe have same Matt hit his driver with a pured shaft then hit it in the non pured position and lets see what happens. Just a suggestion, keep up the good work
Good idea and actually one we have on our to-do list
I'm planning to get my first club fitting later this year, I was hoping I would be able to go to TXG but given the COVID restrictions it looks like that won't be possible :(
But this video and all the others are unreal prep material for me and are really what's inspired me to even get fitted in the first place.
If you ever open a NorCal location I'll be one of the first in line for that!
