Brings back memories! Looks just like the one I had. I also had the smaller sail rig for it. I was paddling my MOL around once and mentioned how the water pressure was pressing the fabric between the ribs. She said, " You mean that this thing is made of CLOTH? TAKE ME TO SHORE." Is Folbot still around in Charleston? I have not found a website. I used to have a Folbot Super. it didn't fold. I bought it used after hearing the tales of a scientist at 3M Central Research Lab where I worked. He used to go on vacations with his two sisters with a (folding) Folbot Big Glider packed into his car. I found the Folbot Super to be remarkably still (resistant to leaning) and much easier to paddle than a Canadian-style canoe. I got a sailing rig for it. That worked pretty well, but it was not tough enough for high winds. I sold it when I got a sailboat. Still miss it sometimes when the weather is just perfect.
Mike, we just bought a 60's Folbot with a sail. Unfortunately all the parts were not there, nor were instructions. Would you mind helping us out with parts and ideas for our rigging?
Looks like a rigid. Do you have a folding super? Mine is great, but sailing alone makes me uneasy sometimes. I need to rig a rope from my mast to the boat and add a breakaway buoy just to feel better.
Hey I recently remodeled at cabin and I found in basement a folbot 50-60s im thinking made from canvas and good with a few metal piles, could you gents tell me? What's it worth. Its in great condition.and possible where I can sell one at? Please I know nothing of these thiNGS.
Hey Mike, I'm looking at purchasing one of these and it's said to be complete. Anything specific that gets lost that i should be sure to look for? Also, is there anything in particular that i should pay attention to when looking at one? I appreciate any advice you're willing to give.
Hi Mike. I just inherited one of these myself. I do not have the directions for assembly and was wondering if you could make me a copy and email it to me. Also, I am having problems getting the bow and stern to go into the skin far enough to get the boat together properly. Any advice. Best, John
Mike ,I just found one of these as well. missing the leeboard crossmember and the linkage for the rudder, but I can probably rig something up since they seem tough to find. I'd really like to get am email of the installation guide if you still have it and don't mind
Thank you for posting this. It's fun to see what our TSF will look like when at sail.

Nice sailing vid. Any idea where the canvas hull (skin) can be purchased. I have a blue twin seat folbot 1960' with mast.
Try, folbot.com/
thanks, have tried the site but they only do new kayaks.

Folbot forums can help you out. If it’s been sitting for a while, it may have shrunk a bit. It took a while to get mine to fit together properly.
Good to know...you take things from peoples houses you work on...nice

Hi! Do you have the instruction manual of the kayak that you could send me pictures of?
