I've used a generic product similar to heat and bond for hemming curtains, it worked well but it made the fabric stiff. I suppose it depends on what you intend to use it for. Also the one I bought was quite expensive so that also plays a part, no point having a hobby you can't afford. I also made a mistake that I left some of the product I was using exposed and when I ironed it it stuck to the iron then to my fingers when I tried pulling it off, I burnt myself and had fluffy finger tips for days from lint from the fabric. Walking disaster area I am 😂
😆Lol! I've managed to stick Wonder Under to my ironing board before now... then I forget and wonder why everything I iron sticks to the board. Leaves me wondering why it sticks to stuff I don't want it to better than the actual project... maybe that's why they call it "wonder" under?
I’ve never used a cloth before and I’ve never had that happen. I think you little pieces of wonderunder were old or rubbed on another surface for awhile. I love that winderunder is thinner and see through. It makes it easier to trace my pieces from any source. (Appliqué quilts). I also believe you missed that piece altogether with your iron. That’s why it wasn’t sticking. Just my opinion. 💝🥰
I've tried it with and without a cloth. The instructions say to use a cloth. So for this video at least, I thought I'd follow the directions to ensure a fair trial. Whenever I use Wonder Under it lets me down by peeling away before I'm ready to stick the applique down. Not a problem with some of the more basic appliques I do like the Gnome Christmas Table Runner videos from 2021 ruclips.net/p/PLv_H1aiWesm6q9y3fiNl5S1qg7SDhpTD6. But it does cause me a few issues when there are multiple small pieces like with the Eagle Over Alaska applique coming up in a future video. Thanks for watching.
That's called editing out the boring bits. I assure you all the Wonder Under got the recommended 15 seconds. I even went back over it a second time in places because it just was not sticking. Heat 'n' Bond is more of a touch it and go product which suits my needs better. Thanks for watching.

I need to get back to sewing. Been to busy restoring sewing machines.
I hear ya! Only in my case - it's the other way around... I'm spending too much time sewing when I should be fixing sewing machines lol 😆
@@SimplyStitchy 🤣🤣🤣. Almost there finishing so I will schedule time to sew. It's the only way.

@@SimplyStitchy Thank you for your reply. I don’t celebrate Christmas but I’m really looking forward to the Eagle video coming up. Thanks again. 💝🥰🤗
You held the iron for two seconds in various places on the wonder under which is not what the directons stated and you quoted.
