    Thank you Lisa for giving me as a new sewer the confidence to try new things in making my "creations". The first thing I tried were using a glue stick to make mug rugs for all my daughters nurse co-workers for Christmas 2 years ago. They turned out better than I had expected by using your step by step guidance. I'm now onto my next projects for Christmas mug rugs using applique. Thank you!

    I just used Heat and Bond Lite yesterday after watching more of your mug rug videos. I made a little gnome on one and a Santa on the other. I also fussy cut some pictures out of another Christmas fabric for some other mug rugs. I have no idea what I am going to do with all of these projects, but I am having fun.

And there you were showing a video. On the differences, I'm so glad I found you in this video. Because you always explain everything in a way that's easy to understand. Thank you again Lisa❤

    Is the Heat n Bond Lite strong enough to hold things like patches on without stitching? I may stitch in the future, but I'm not sure I'd do it now. If I used the Ultra, I know it will stay on but I can't stitch later if I want to. This is for sports jersey numbers, so a strong hold is important but so is the ability to stitch if I wanted

    I guess you could use both in one project, i.e. I'd use the Lite on the bow b/c it looks cute stitched, but all the smaller pieces maybe the Ultra. That way you customize it & both can be washed in cold water. A win-win.👍💜🧡

    I am trying to use the ultra bond to bond denim shapes onto denim but it won't stick...
    The "glue" just looks shiny and won't adhere. Maybe I am heating it on too long? How long should i keep the heat press on and at what temp should my iron on press be at ?
    Any help would be appreciated❤

    I've used Heat n Bond Ultra on football jerseys in a quilt. The blocks are heavy and stiff. Will they soften up after washing them? There are several shirts bonded in this quilt and it feels like canvas. Help!

    • @TheQuiltmakerHomestead
      @TheQuiltmakerHomestead  2 года назад

      Hi Naomi, do you mean that you've backed the entire shirt with HeatnBond Ultra instead of using a fusible interfacing....or in place of it? The nature of the Ultra is to add convenience of not having to sew down applique and things of this sort, and for the bond to be permanent. This convenience does come with some draw backs as the applique does turn out quite a bit stiffer than using the lite products that you have to sew when using. This MAY soften up over time, but sadly I don't think it will ever be supper cuddly....I'm hoping I'm wrong :(

    Which presser foot were you using making the swirls. Can I sew on the H&B light. Do I need to leave space between the edge of the fabric and the heat and bond light? Thanks for any feedback you can offer. :-)))

    • @TheQuiltmakerHomestead
      @TheQuiltmakerHomestead  3 года назад

      You don't need to leave an edge between the fabric and the H&B and yes you sew through the H&B lite, never the ultra hold.

    • @tashspond
      @tashspond 3 года назад

      @@TheQuiltmakerHomestead I am making fairy wings and want to use a mixture of different coloured fabrics and films. The base is wire. If it were transparent, I could just lay a sheet of it over the entire wing. Otherwise I need to cut it into strips and place it along the wire where I want the fabric to fuse. I was going to experiment with the outer layer and try a mixture of heatnseal laminate and 3 or 5m laminate.
