This is a fantastic video! I’ve watch so many videos trying to learn appliqué methods, yours is the only one I’ve saved for future reference! Clear, concise, and easy to follow. Thanks so much!
Neat work! I’m going to try the button hole setting to see how it turns out. I think this, blanket stitch looks more handmade than others. I’m not sure about cutting out reverse of shape if it’s for a decorative item, perhaps only on soft furnishings to make it softer, more comfortable on a pillow or quilt.
So it’s not necessary to use a tear away stabilizer when stitching? And I’m surprised you are able to separate the fused fabrics to make that little snip!! Does that work with all fusible web (like Heat and Bond) so you think? Thanks for this helpful video!!
trying to applique a marijuana leaf (no judging) long, thin with notches close together and on both sides of each leaf. tried turned edge. not very good results. this fusible technique just might work. thanks. my sewing machine skill will need to be very good.
Does the rest that is left behind stand up to washing in a quilt? Or does it create lumps after several washes. Thank you for the video, much appreciated.
Great tip about taking some of the fusible material of bigger areas❤

Loved finding this video. I was wanting to try applique and I bought the stuff for it...but have yet to pull the trigger. I feel I can try now!
Do give it a try! I suggest you start with a simple shape to get the hang of stitching around it. Most important - have fun!

Your little deer is too cute! I think it’s time I learned how to appliqué.
Can't wait to do this block. I want to make a pillow with one of these blocks in an xmas quilt.
Thank you for taking the fear out of applique
Wow this makes it so much easier to understand. You are wonderful
Something I want to try as a newbie sewer! Thanks

Yes, it's going to be a time consumer to get all those notches stitched down, but it is really the only way. I hope you only have one leaf to do!
@QuiltFabrication thanks for the video. I'll send the results
Very lovely but the volume was very low.. thank you
Do you need to sew it when your done, or were you just looking for a stitch look?
I always sew down my edges as sometimes fusible works free. Ultimately, it's your choice.
wonder why you cut the back of the cloth that the deer is sewed on2 ty
Cut out the fabric behind the applique to reduce bulk and weight.
Kan dit in het Nederlands vertaald worden?
Why are you cutting away the interfacing?
I cut away the interior portion of the fusible to eliminate stiffness
