  • Second test to the MARS II, from ICS. Now after being reviewed by Ryot shop, in Silves.
The test was made with the replica strait from the shop, no games played in between.

We, airsofters, are like sport coaches, we always think that our replica can do better than out of the box... Which is actually usually true!
    Changed parts list:
    Nozzel - SHS - 4.90€
    Cylinder Head - SHS - €9.90
    Barrel - ML 6.02 / 290mm - €23.90
    Hopup rubber - ML Supermacarron 60º - 10.90€
    Labor - €25.00
    Total: 74.90€
Repeating the test in the range, in conditions as close as possible, we had mixed results, where we will consider the values obtained in the 1st test as the “base line”, so 100%. Analyzed by bb's, we see that the new configuration has better results with 0.28 and 0.40 both from G&G (but from different quality ranges!), but worse results with 0.32 and 0.25g.
We can also analyze the results from the distance perspective, which is perhaps one of the most relevant information, giving us an idea of the range of the replica. At 30 meters, I usually blame the operator more than the machine! We all have good days and bad days... maybe on this day I didn't have the best mindset! What is certain is that practically all the results, at this distance, were lower, around 6% on average. In the 40 meters, intermediate distance, the results were better, with an average of about 6% above the standard, with a clear highlight of the 0.28g Bio of G&G competition, a trend that was maintained for all distances. In the 50 meters, long distance, by my standards, the results improved by around 40%, due to a much-improved performance from 0.40, with the exception that we are talking about a very compensated shot, quite difficult to obtain with the first shots, requiring aiming adjustments beyond normal range! Again, I highlight the 0.28g, which managed 14 hits in 20 shots, a very good result, in my opinion. They were the only bb's that I thought could make hits at 60 meters, as the compensation given at 50 meters was not too excessive. So, I got 6 hits at 60 meters, something that surprised me a lot! Any trepidation, breathing, the recoil of the shot, a little wind, the inclination of the replica... everything affects the trajectory of the bb, but at this distance even more!
In short, in my opinion, it was worth making these changes, as they will allow me to hit targets at greater distances, although I confess that the initial results were already really good, so the margin for improvement was not very large! I think that in the future, I will test different brands of 0.28 bb's, as I believe it is the best weight for this replica, and eventually switch to a stronger spring, to bring it closer to the legal power limit, decreasing the possibility of my targets turning in NEO's from the Matrix.
