Thank you for this video! It was great to hear the recommendation for making meditation your own. Sometimes counting helps me, and other times, focusing on my breathing works better.
Yes, I agree with you about using a timer. It was good when I first started just to see if I could be still for that amount of time, but once reaching deeper states that alarm is jarring (lol).
I just started reading Psychic Witch and enjoying it so far. Thank you also for the playlist. Have a wonderful day.

Thanks for the video! My biggest problem with meditation is self-discipline. I will meditate every day for 3 months, and then I (some part of me) will talk myself out of meditating.
Personally, I do think it's possible to still the mind, but it's difficult to get there. People have argued that stillness meditations are just not possible for the Western mind and that the Western mind differs from the Eastern mind in that respect. They say guided meditations work better for the Western mind. I couldn't make a statement about that.
From my own practice, I haven’t been able to reach absolute stillness yet but I think it's possible. I am currently where I can observe my emotions without getting swept up in them, but it's not always possible for me to observe my thoughts without getting sucked into them. One moment, I'm outside of my thought watching it pass, the next moment I'm inside it participating in it and furthering the thought. So, reaching stillness on my own is still a work in progress.
I followed a course from Silva Mindcontrol method, which practices alpha, theta, and delta brainwave states, and the crux of coming into those states is deep relaxation of the body and the mind. In the course, they say that you know you've reached those states when there is no more mind chatter. Those meditations are very effective, but I dislike the affirmations they use when you are at this deep state of consciousness. Who knows if their statements are correct?
One thing I wanted to ask is how do you recognize someone else's energy? What alerts you that you are in the presence of another spirit?

Being consistent is definitely the hardest part, my god! I totally understand how you feel 😅 but on the other hand you don't need to be too hard on yourself either. Try to hold a weekly practice, if doing it daily becomes too much for you.

Getting chills during meditation is normal, don't worry about it ;) after all we're not necessarily alone while we meditate.
And I'm very happy to know that this video was helpful to you 🤍✨
