    In today's video I am bringing something a little different that I thought could be fun: ranking magickal tools - do you really need it all? We are going to take a look at around 20 of the items that witches use the most and analyze how useful they actually are.
    I am Aster, a Brazilian Folk Witch sharing some magick on the internet. We have new videos on independent spirituality every Sunday at 6pm (France timezone). This channel is thought for beginner witches in general and black practitioners, especially those who have Brazilian ancestry.

    I'll be honest I don't think I have ever spent a dime on getting a bottle or jar specifically for my craft, I do however save ever jar pasta sauce & etc. was in, every glass Coca Cola bottle I have drank, and ever beard oil bottle I have used for the various witchcraft uses. And I have the same little cast iron pot on my main altar (got it for 3.00 US dollars ) .

    hey! wand user here: I was never planning on having a wand, I also didn't really see a need for one, but then I was walking one day and was drawn to a stick on the ground. I picked it up, left an offering, and didn't want to put it down when I got home; so now my wand rides around with me everywhere and we are good friends. I use her mainly when I'm making teas to stir it and set it with an intention, other times I draw a circle in the air around someone or myself to set an intention or draw luck or confidence. sure I could use my hand, but I've found having a connection with another spirit (like the one my wand has) can hep strengthen the spell. (it's also just nice having a friend riding around with me wherever I go)
    I'd say the biggest downside though is people trying to touch my wand or grab her without permission, the biggest upside is that I always have a magical tool on hand.
    thanks for the video! I enjoyed seeing another opinion on magickal tools, have a nice day!

    Learning Tarot has been very insightful and unexpectedly hilarious. My deck is like, "No, three of swords, and nine of swords just like yesterday and the day before, no go do some healing."

    I don't know what happened in the last few videos. But Aster is fucking beautiful. The sweater she had on in her tarot live stream was super cute. And now she has this beautiful lip stick on here. And her hair style is something I'm definitely jealous of since I also have super curly hair like she does.
    K I'm done gushing about my new Internet crush. Lol.

    I've grown to be quite fond of my wand. It makes things feel dramatic. Yeah, the wand is a largely Greek invention. But I'd be curious if it's because of how eurocentric popular accounts are, or if it is simply the fact that non-European cultures never used a wand.

  • @Myke_thehuman
    @Myke_thehuman 4 месяца назад +4

    I can understand the hype for wands, even though I don't use them much myself. But it does just feel dramatic, like I'm Harry Potter casting a powerful spell.
    But personally my goal with magic is to be good enough at it, that I can cast a sigil if I have to, without anything other than my mind.

    I'm not done watching the video but so far I love this fun video, your perspective is interesting. I love pendelums and oracle cards, mines are homemade and I wanna try wands just so that I can save and strengthen my energy. I forgot wands doesn't have to be made out of crystal, so I'm gonna try and make one today with part of a coconut tree (I don't know what the part is called), a stone, and thread. I am a beginner closeted witch so I tend to gravitate towards anything I can make using what I have in the house or that's right outside. My mother does get suspicious but I'm able to play it off because it's not as obvious as using a crystal or any other expensive spiritual item. So any other closeted witch reading this, there is hope, you just have to see it right in front of you. Also, I'm a greej witch so using things I can find outside fits my craft way better than anything else.

    I actually love crystals and i also love spell books i find them very useful and i have a leather bound book with aged paper that I bought for $15 on Amazon as well as my dagger and my tarot cards were gifted to me from my Aunt Sheila I also have yet to try Runes and I do love the spirit board as well as a pendulum. Small bottles like your blue one I actually use for full moon and celestial waters because they work wonders for magical water

      Crystals , Spellbooks , Pendulum and Tarot / Oracle cards are my favourite items , I re- use jars of various sizes for dried herbs but I buy already made anointing oils , and I have a huge collection of candles . I like my tools , I don't have a broom or a dagger and probably won't purchase !

    Everything you say makes completely sense to me, the only thing I don't agree is about ouija board. I really don't like it, I see it as a kid's toy, probably just because it's sold by hasbro, but this is enough to make me dislike it

    Wands depends on how you use them, personally mine is a wooden spoon. And your cauldron is perfect, stay away from the novelty junk, I have two a cast iron camp cooking pot and a electric crock pot.

    I like using a wand, but don't think it's necessary. You can strengthen your energy when you put a crystal at the end of the wand for example.

      Way to go! Sewing is super relaxing, I love it!
      And for that specific embroidery, I did get inspiration from Pinterest. I looked up some sphinx cat illustrations and then came up with that one (I can't imagine a whole drawing from scratch, so Pinterest helps a lot).

    Bicho, vi um vídeo teu em outro canal falando sobre a população indígena e que a gente perdeu toda a magia nativa brasileira... e vei... é não, boy.
    Negócio é o seguinte: Nós temos uma raíz forte, principalmente no Norte e Nordeste.
    Realmente, os territórios tão bem reduzidos e cada vez reduzem mais. Porém, a cultura e interculturalidade das tradições e crenças do povo que restou ainda está bem preservada ( e graças aos nossos departamentos de antropologia da UFPE, UFRN, UFAM e UFRR, temos uma excelente fonte de dados sobre diversas práticas e rtuais).
    Agora temos um problema SÉRIO com o paganismo Brasileiro, que é o fato da maioria da galera ir pra panteão GREGO, CELTA ou NÓRDICO, esquecendo completamente as raízes daqui.

    • @asterperpetua
      @asterperpetua  3 месяца назад +2

      Seria lindo se mais bruxas brasileiras procurassem aprender sobre as nossas raízes em vez de ir atrás dos panteões europeus.
      E sobre a nossa herança indígena, como eu sou do sudeste não tive contato algum com a nossa população nativa, infelizmente. Não que no sudeste não tenha nenhuma pessoa indígena, mas na minha região pelo menos eu nunca conheci ninguém 💔
