Regarding the gnomes. ..I have experience working with the nisser, which is the Norwegian word for "garden gnome." They are called tomte/n in Swedish. They keep to themselves and are concerned with nature and animals. They will help you for the greater good. Don't expect anything from them, just offer your friendship and if you need help with the garden, or animals. You can certainly ask them for things but they are huldufólk (hidden people), they are not guiding spirits. It sounds like they were showing the storyteller the things they will help him with. They don't just showcase themselves. This was a very sacred interaction! ❤❤😊 Make them a bowl of rice porridge on Chrsitmas eve and thank them for their presence! They came with my family from Norway. The legends say that they are our ancient ancestors have evolved into a spirit. They attach to families. Thanks for sharing this story, how beautiful. The huldufólk are being intentional with their interactions. ❤❤❤
For Elementals: There is a Norse practice called Seidr, which may help with connecting to them. There's a youtube channel with only a few videos, but has excellent info for Seidr, and that channel's name is Annette Høst.
