Boadicea is pronounced “bow-ah-dee-see-ah.” Boadicea was a Queen of the ancient Iceni Celtic tribe who led an uprising against the Roman Empire forces intent on conquering them and other places. This is a possible reason for the inclusion of this song in the film as they are trying to show Madchen’s character as a Queen who revolted against the sleepwalkers and the cats were her tribe.

    • @catzkeet4860

@@catzkeet4860 unfortunately Minty’s pronunciation of the Enya song’s ‘Boadicea’ which he shows in the video isn’t pronounced that way. “Boo-do-Kuh” or “boo-di-ka”, as you state, is the pronunciation of Boudica not Boadicea. I just rewatched the movie "Sleepwalkers" after so many years and may have realized something that many people watching it may not know. Tanya Robertson, who is one of the main characters of the movie, goes through one of Joseph Campbell's "Hero's journey" by meeting (and then having to confront) Charles Brady and his mother who are both supernatural monsters who prey on young women such as herself. The interesting twist in "Hero's journey" paradigm is the hero in this story isn't a young male but a women, as well as her main advisory which is Charles mother. Because of this interesting twist, it is kind of a forward thinking movie for it's time.

I remember renting that movie when it was released on VHS, and when the kids are asleep, my husband Claude and I would watch this movie, and over the next few hours, we would watch this movie in spellbound silence, it was like a wild roller-coaster ride, It was amazing from start to finish, Best Acting by Alice Krige, she's just amazing in this Movie, She's just a National Treasure, also because of that Movie, inspired us to adopt a cat, so we went to the local Animal Shelter, and we adopted a Male Grey Tabby Cat that looked just like Clovis, in fact we even named our Male Grey Tabby Cat after the character in the Sleepwalkers movie, and another year later we adopted another Female Grey Tabby Cat, and we named her Heidi, Our Cat Clovis just loves her, he even breed her too, and she gave birth to six Kittens, three males and three females.

want another famous song in a movie "fix?" Try watching Prophecy 2 and for about 2 or 3 seconds towards the 2/3rds of the movie you get to the BEST part of hearing Christopher Walken (as Gabriel) playing Telstar by the music group the Tornadoes. :) :) :) with his Trumpet to the song while it plays on his car radio!! LOVE THAT entire few seconds of the whole movie! :) LOL

I went to a screening before the film was finished that asked our opinions.
It had no score, so they used Harry Manfredinis score from Jason Lives. The entire climax was set to the opening theme. You know, that significantly awesome one you hear in the Jason Takes Manhattan tv trailer!
    It was PHENOMENAL!!!
Seeing the film with its actual score paled in comparison.
If someone, somewhere has a copy of the film with the Jason Lives score, they should upload it somewhere. It's SO MUCH BETTER.
Suspecting they'd change it, when asked for suggestions on what to do with the film to improve it, I said only DO NOT CHANGE THE SCORE. GET PERMISSION.
    But they did not listen.

Imagine it. That moment right when the snare drum hit precedes the bass, the music hits, and Thom Mathews name appears...
Imagine THAT as the borg queen, Alice Krige catches flying cats in midair, snapping their neck with one hand, tossing it aside, and pursuing your virginal final girl with absolute determination.
      It was fucking EPIC.
you've got that string section, too... The classic manfredini thing that leads up to it.
The booming bass as the 00Jason into plays...
Then that awesome, climactic music playing... That fierce epic battle music... And it did repeat.
      It was AMAZING.
ACTUALLY in my youth, while I love all of Harry's scores, that one in particular inspired me to write a song I no longer have a copy of.
I remember drums with timed reverb and discordant strings.
      I called it "too spooky"
A masterpiece lost to the ages, I suppose.

Ron Perlman! The transformation make up (not the full monster makeup) in this film reminds me a lot of his character Vincent in the original 80’s tv series Beauty and The Beast.
