I have never seen Marcus use a loop pedal. This is a good video of the the creative process of the great Marcus Miller. Bass on my fellow Bass players😁
It must be a wonderful thing to find your musical style, to be totally comfortable and confident with it, and to ultimately be successful with it. Marcus Miller is one of those musicians whose style is immediately recognizable, he's had a lot of success with it, and has a horde of emulators and simulators(self included). Like Marcus, I'm presently working on creating my own sound and learning to be comfortable and confident with it.
No question about it, Marcus has (and has always had) something totally unique. His sound is a bit of a mystery too. At his lower speeds it might seem like something you could figure out, something decipherable, then again not. The sound comes from inside him. The way he thinks/feels. And I like also that he doesn't follow the crowd (understatement) That's not possible.
Hadrien Feraud is some kinda "sleeper", man. Listening to him feels like a warning in an undercurrent. He's doing all kinds of stuff... creating all kinds of currents in that mix!! He is one killer wave, fam!!!!
I hope he sticks to looper but you can always hear right away if he is playing a Fender or not. I know he got a deal going on but wish he played this 30 minute on his regular gear man what a piece of treasure here
The Sire V10 sounds pretty good and probably feels solid to play, but I can't help but feel that a true 1970's Jazz Bass sound just naturally comes from a Fender. The Fender Marcus Miller is a great homage to mid-1970's Jazz Basses.
Its most likely that whatever is being used to record the audio isn't capable of picking up heavy amounts of low end (note the clipping every so often).
Anyone know what delay pedal set up Miller is using here? Or what setups would allow bassist to play-in a rhythmic line, and then add overtop as seen here??
Now this V10 sound more like his Fender. The V7 though a nice bass, doesn't quite sound like the Fender. Its a cheap sound to me. I bought one last week out of curiousity. Yes it's good bass like everybody says it is but its not even close to my Fender Deluxe.
zoranhome I just bought a Fender Ultra Jazz and it is the best sounding bass I’ve ever played. Also, the neck on this bass is sweet. I’m celebrating for you in advance for when you pick one up.
Some might call this an over statement, but I honestly think that Marcus truly is one our national treasures.
International treasure.
More musical ideas per second than most humans..salute to Mr Miller
There are those who play bass. There are indeed bass players. And, then there is Marcus. "...and never the twain shall meet."👊
Thats Real Rapp...

The ONE and ONLY every note is deep soloing or laying it down for others to solo keep pushing Marcus
fantastic Marcus

Marcus Miller the Godfather of the Bass !
Starting to get the feeling that we're going to see a lot more of the V10 whenever we see Marcus live.
Love it! 👍🏾

Incredible!!
Bass players unite!
War's 'Slippin Into Darkness' never sounded so funky
B. Rod Clark War was pretty good and funky, but Marcus Miller is a bad man.😎

I'm a sick fan Of Marcus's but, what happened to his tone? I liked him better on the Fender... Ijs
...and EBS.

Ouff! I hope that's the case... My favorite tone! 😎

he's using a loopstation wich allows you to play a bassline and then another on top of that one
Thomas L'Herete thanks 4 dat! I know how to do it, but didn’t know what is being used today/ boss.
When a man/woman like Mr Miller does what they do for a living they are suppose to be great.
Queria ver Braguinha e Miler juntos

Groove Master he dude should i buy a v7 ($520) or a fender player mexican Jazz bass ($660)
What's that head he's using?
Somebody just got a haircut....
nice playing but i dont like the muffled sound
ToeJam and Earl
That's a weird Christian McBride behind Marcus
This will sound funny, but this convinced me NOT to buy a Sire, I'll keep saving for that Ultra Jazz
zoranhome I just bought a Fender Ultra Jazz and it is the best sounding bass I’ve ever played. Also, the neck on this bass is sweet. I’m celebrating for you in advance for when you pick one up.
The master is Marcus good sound from the bass, sorry about Hadrien, that is not the style he can play...
