2009 Toyota Highlander Hybrid. Toyota was the first automaker to put a hybrid powertrain into a midsize crossover SUV when it introduced the Highlander Hybrid for the 2006 model year. Now in its second-generation, the Highlander Hybrid is still a one-of-a-kind combination of utility and fuel economy.
The Toyota Highlander Hybrid benefits from the strengths of the base model. Among those features are seating for seven, useful cargo space, and a smooth, carlike ride. Add in a powerful gas-electric powertrain, and the Highlander Hybrid is green without making any compromises. LOL at 3:19 "partially because it can be hard to get back there" LOL LOL! love this channel!
this car is great. An suv that saves ya money at the pump.. great purchase!
And the latest generation is even better. I get 30mpg with my family and gear loaded up and I drive it in Sport mode aggressively. Pretty amazing for an AWD SUV weighing nearly 5k lbs
If you folks are in the market for a used Highlander Hybrid I say go for it. I am the original owner of a 2013 HH Limited with 125,000 truly trouble-free miles on it. Only thing replaced aside from basic fluids and wear items was a driver side door lock actuator that was replaced under factory warranty. Believe me when I say this is a (SLEEPER) of a car in terms of handling/acceleration/top speed. Trust me it can hold its own at a light against most European luxury crossovers and over take them at will on the highway. Dare I mention our HH Limited can hold its own against Porsche Cayennes, BMW X5s, Audi Q7s etc. All I cars I actually cross-shopped since the cost of our vehicle with tax/title etc was already $60,000 but I decided on the under the radar Highlander Hybrid Limited and I have no regrets whatsoever. At 5 years old with 125,000 miles our HH is truly barely broken in. This vehicle barring a crash will easily make it to 300,000 miles with basic maintenance and even then I plan on handing it down to my kids. BTW I'm not paid by Toyota just giving you folks an honest review of our Toyota product.
I am looking to buy one soon. Did you ever have to replace the Hybrid battery? I know you have to replace them on some Hybrid cars.

Nope not yet but my sister has a 2007 camry hybrid that needed a new hybrid battery that was replaced under warranty. Honestly when the time comes for a new battery I would not hesitate to get a new replacement battery put in. The vehicle has been utterly reliable and believe it or not it drives like a sedan and is a joy to drive. I plan on handing it down to my kids. Good luck!
Good to hear mate. Im currently looking at a 2009 Highlander Hybrid limited edition with Towing Package for around $12k
Go race it with a cayenne turbo and tell me how much faster it is 😅

Cayenne Turbo is in a different league. Regular Cayenne no probs. Traded in the 2013 for a 2021 Highlander Hybrid Platinum awd and the newer one is a tad slower but I drive it like I stole it and get 30mpg all day long. When I want power I simply drive my LX570
This is really a great car. i used to have one till it was hit by a garbage truck. but they jacked up the price on it :( so i wasn't able to get a new one.
Is this still reliable after ten years
Ours is a 2010 HH. 100000 miles on it. Still drives brand new.
