putting aside whether it's better or not, since i can't guarantee anything, i think i'd give garchomp hp and speed with stealth rock, brick break, earthquake and swords dance. opening with garchomp, i'd use stones, then swords dance x3, then brick break, then sweep?

Oh yeah, dig in 1 gen is busted. I used to run dig on my Nidoking..You will literally have a monster before lv20 if done fast. Then you get dig a while later before you got 30 and Nidoking one shots half of the game.

I understand the difference in opinions around the Dupes and Shiny Clauses, because things can be misinterpreted based on the wording and intention, however I don't understand how SmallAnt (and seemingly most of his chat) found no issue with him catching 5 Pokemon in the Great Marsh to get the Protect TM. Every Nuzlocke rule-set (and Ludlocke too) I've ever looked at clearly states that you can only "catch" the first Pokemon in each area. Releasing 4 of them doesn't fix this, because you still benefit from the catching by receiving (and later using) the very powerful TM. Protect is off-limits in a Renegade/Mogul Platinum Nuzlocke. Anyway, not trying to be negative, but I'd enjoyed the majority of the 27+ hours so far so it's disappointing that it ends here.
For this complaint I think you could reference the beginning of his video mentioning the shiny clause. He COULD have gotten all of those four other pokemon by grinding shiny's for 12+ hours to make you happy. But alternatively, he just caught them and released them not affecting the heart of the challenge and not wasting his own time. You could still think its wrong to do it this way but that's your opinion A very weird and unnecessary opinion but its your's none the less.

If that logic tracked, then why did he specifically shiny hunt the Slowpoke and 2 Magikarp earlier in the run, instead of just catching regular ones and saying he COULD have just gotten a shiny but doesn't want to waste time? He did it because he decided he needed to in order to follow the rules. Same should apply here. It absolutely does affect the heart of the challenge by the way. He now has infinite Protect TMs, which is incredibly powerful in a Nuzlocke. FWIW I don't agree at all with his interpretation of the Shiny clause. Clearly the intention behind it was so that if you happen to run across a shiny in normal play, doing what you would've been doing anyway, then you're allowed to catch it otherwise it may feel bad to lose out. Specifically grinding for them defeats the entire purpose of losing a Pokemon when they faint, because there's now no risk as long as you can put the time in. However, as the clause is badly worded, grinding for them doesn't actually break it, so fair enough.
@@PBurn88 Do you have issues with the rare candy grind skip? The shiny abuse is definitely a bit silly since the mod makes shiny pokemon so much more common that the usual problem with the strat is totally removed for someone as patient as he is. But literally everyone watching a notable amount of his content knows he could and would grind those marsh shiny pokemon if he had to if this had an "official run" he was trying for. If in the name of content and time, watching him click run for the 5-10 hours it would take to get those shiny pokemon is skipped in favor of releasing then its really no different from the rare candies. He isn't just cheating to cut time or he would have sold vitamins to buy coins and said he could have played the game just to get easy leftovers/sashes. He technically ends up worse this way than if he actually did it since he doesn't have access to the 4 shiny pokemon he would have had to catch.

Read the first paragraph in my previous post in response to the "content and time" thing. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion on what should or shouldn't be done, but the simple fact is that this is the first time he's actually broken the rules of the run. If you're fine with that, great, I'm glad it didn't reduce your enjoyment of the run.
From the bulbapedia wiki on nuzlockes, we have this mention under the optional rules section. "The "first encounter only" rule is modified for within the Safari Zone." The most common way it is modified is to allow only one encounter per area within the safari zone, but it seems to be an option to catch multiple pokemon in the great marsh in general, or any safari zone in any nuzlocke.
Ant casually explaining that his car got broken into and it's chill if it happens again - while I (maybe because am girl so have the paranoia that is associated with true crime) am trying to picture myself in that situation and I'd be absolutely horrified. Like I would not feel safe in my apartment if I knew someone was continuously ransacking my car.
It annoys me that he puts zero effort into doing a good job of catching pokemon. No sleep or other statuses, no high-tier pokeballs, even after he's had I think 3-4 encounters kill themselves.
high tier pokeballs don't make much difference in catch rate. ultra balls cost 5-6x and only give 2x catch rate in comparison to regular pokeballs. so it's more economical. for the status thing it's probably more hassle than it's worth to keep around a pokemon with a status-inflicting move especially if he runs into a trainer battle accidentally that could easily fuck over his entire run. plus with speedup all of this hardly matters i find it hilarious that internet randos get mad about how a streamer plays a game, if you wanna play it differently, play it yourself lmao
True but a confuse ray would've confused it, made it do a little damage to itself eventually and that way it can be caught easier. Even a little damage goes a long way, and confusion only lasts between 0 and 3 turns. (I've had a single case of 5, but it was rare.)
This first 45miutes are so fake. It's obvesly he allready did this off screen once to test how it works. He did so well until this point and then something like that. For me he loost his credibility.
